Last night I desided to make a page were you could drag the sprites onto the grid and put a background behind it. Check out what I've done so far:

The tiles/sprites on the top right can be moved by clicking them with your left mouse button and draging them anywhere on the grid. Release the button and they will stay on the grid. You can also move the blue sky background onto the grid and it will automatically be behind all the tiles. Once it is complete you can use your printscreen button or screencapture program and then paste the image into an image program like MS Paint. I'll add more tiles and functionality later, but please let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions, or questions. Thanks.

Note: The images at the bottom of the page with the pink background are for reference only.

Holy ike! That's incredible! All it needs now is a bit of snapping action.

Thanks.  My little javascript experience is now the (read: very) rusty so I don't think I'll be adding snapping anytime soon.

I just made this image:

And now I can see that I need to add plants in every direction, and conveyor belts, Mini Marios, and Shy Guys going left.

Forgive me if my idea doesn't work a bit, but you may be able to include a bit of something like this:
Code: [Select]
if (10 - "currentXorY" > 5)
{
     "currentXorY" = "currentXorY" + (10 - "currentXorY");
} else {
     "currentXorY" = "currentXorY - (10 - "currentXorY");
}

Logically that makes since, but the numbers should be 16 and 8, and I'm not sure how well it will fit into the code.  I hate fiddling with other peoples code.  I'll look into it when I have time though.

Also, I updated the level editor to include all the sprites for the first contruction set in all possible directions.  http://kontek.net/Luigison/MvDK2images/drag.htm

Major update:  http://kontek.net/Luigison/MvDK2images/drag.htm

Now the background toggles by clicking it and all the sprites snap into place on the grid.  Try it.

Thanks Deezer and Vorpy.

Edit:  Check out this awesome Gold Star level Deezer made:

That is awesome. Now I can save copies of my levels so that I can erase them on my game to make room for more, and then re-make them on the game when I feel like it! The updated versions of the editing tool (which I noticed afterward, since I didn't read that far through the topic yet) are even better.

I don't have any friend codes yet, because I don't have a Wi-Fi connection at this time. I plan on getting one, though.

But here is the design for the first level I ever made. It's also the only Mushroom Mayhem one I have currently. (Yes, it is very simple, but it is, after all, my first one. I have others which are more original.)

Very cool smfan1085.  Your the first person to actually use the tool for what it was intened.  Why didn't you click the grid to change to the sky blue background?  I noticed from your image that I had the plateform aligned wrong.  It's fixed now.  Which contruction set do you think I should try to make first?

I've started working on the TROPICAL ISLAND Level Editor:
http://kontek.net/Luigison/MvDK2images/drag2.htm

I made my second level to test the tool so far:

I could put in a conveyor belt or elevator and continue the level.

Oh, I didn't know I could do that.

And thanks for the compliment.

Once you get the Tropical Island editor done, I can post an image of another one of my levels. I also have one finished one and one unfinished one from Lava Dome, and three made from the Special Kits (one from each kit).

P.S.  This is probably obvious, but other people are welcome to construct the levels I make that I post here. I can't share them through Wi-Fi yet because, as I said, I don't have a Wi-Fi connection yet.

Both Mushroom Mayhem and Tropical Island are complete and work well in IE and Ff. (Depending on your security level you may have to click the IE warning bar to allow the sprites to be moveable.)

Check out the very much improved versions:

  I made, play tested, and saved this level in my game then made it using my Tropical Island level editor:

Unfortunately either my WiFi isn't working right or NWC is down so if you want to play it you'll have to make it yourself untill I can get it synced.

Those sprites are quite fuzzy... I was actually going to rip some, but the ROM was too big :X
Someone should totally check the ROM for possible LZ77 compressed sprites. :D

The better looking sprites were ripped from PNG press.nintendo.com images.  The fuzzy ones are from bad JPG images that I either found on images.google.com or took myself.  A few of the images like the Question-block and some enemies are custom.
