How about a Super Mario World-themed or SNES Super Mario Kart-themed level? Like Chocolate Island, the Forest of Illusion, Donut Plains, Vanilla Dome, or Cookie Mountain? I'd even settle for Hightail Falls Galaxy since it has the Super Mario World Athletic remix for its BGM. That would be really cool!

Or a classic Yoshi's Island stage like the Jungles or Skiing Slopes!

Anything Paper Mario related. (The best would be that Paper Mario as a playable character but... It's seems unlikely)

I've said it multiple times here, but I still really want to see a Paper Mario stage that turns all the fighters into paper versions.

I put BP's Bowser's Castle stage over Flat Zone 2 in my PM build, and it works beautifully.

Still, an official stage would be great, maybe with stage hazards from Sticker Star. (based on the Thing stickers, you have to admit those were creative)

I would love to see a Bowser's Castle stage, particularly if it was given the Palutena's Temple treatment. A labyrinth full of Thwomps, Dry Bones and molten lava?! Count me in! On the other hand, if we got a Mario newcomer in Wart/Mamu (however unlikely that may be), Wart/Mamu's Throne Room would also suffice. Wart's Throne Room would be in disrepair, possibly ransacked by Subconians, so the roof would be gone. The background would be very ruin-porn-y, somewhat like Mushroomy Kingdom was in Brawl, but less barren and more jungle-esque. Think Abandoned By Disney. Poison Bubbles would eminate from The Dream Machine, popping on contact with fighters. They would not cause knockback, but would slowly damage them like the Lip's Stick. And... that's all I got. ALSO THE SPECIAL WORLD FROM SMW.

I'd rather they add a Wart's Castle stage that actually looked like it was supposed to instead of another dreary bore-fest, thanks.

They could also easily add it without Wart having to be playable. Since stages include bosses you can fight now, they could just make Wart a feature of the stage.

Also, it would be nice if you actually explained how a possible Special World stage would look and behave.

My two custom SSBB Mario stages convey what I'd want about way more succinctly than I could say:

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzFguMgIy3c" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzFguMgIy3c</a>

A more or less all-around Mario stage that takes from all over the series. I put in specific references to SMB1, SMB3, SMW, the console NSMBs, there are Li'l Brrrs from the Galaxies and a Bumpty from YI in the ice version, and I had SM64 on the brain when I placed some coins hovering over one of the trees... the original concept was to be more directly SMB3 up until I played 3D Land.

My take on Paper Mario Bowser's Castle. I kinda went to town on Paper Mario-specific stuff (the landmarks down below are about geographically accurate, too bad you can't really see them through the clouds) even though I wanted sort of a middle ground between that, the main series, and what would look right in Brawl. I would still think going somewhere between Paper and Super Mario would be good, although SSB4's target for stage visuals seems to be "like the original but better."

@TheChef, Oh yeah! I forgot about the bosses! Haha. To be honest, I only went for gritty-ness because I thought that was what Ninty would go for. In hindsight, sm4sh is not going for the same look as Brawl, so it would probably be better to go with a more traditional look. As for Special World, Awesome, Funky, and Way Cool would work rather well I think. Awesome would be an Ice Stage, which is rather needed. Funky would add to the mayhem with hella enemies. Way Cool would be a  good spiritual succesor to Rainbow Cruise, being an on rails platform.

I tried making a custom stage based on Yoshi's Island's "Athletic" levels with all the donut blocks and rotating platforms. It was meh.

I know it may never happen because of the political problems with Square, but the forest from Mario RPG would be nice, especially since they'd get a chance to remix the music from it.

If they were to make another Mario Kart stage, based off of Bower's Castle from Mario Kart DS, that would be alright.

That didn't stop them from remixing Gourmet Race. And that was an awesome remix.

I hope Donkey Kong gets some good stages. It can probably be expected that something from Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze or Donkey Kong Country Returns will make it in. Maybe even one from each in each version of SSB4, considering Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. It's a bit silly that we're getting Jungle Japes a third time. That's banned already!
