I don't want to put it over the game's music, I want to put it alongside the game's music. That's why just turning down the music and playing music over my own speakers isn't enough.

Besides, it came up when I was mentioning an Excite Truck stage. You'd rather listen to Excite Truck rock than, say, Queen? Or Okkusenman? Or Chocolate Rain?

For a final illustration, as good as the Zelda music in Brawl is, could any of it ever match the epicness of Falcon Punching R.O.B. off the Pictochat stage while Never Gonna Give You Up plays in the background? I didn't think so.

There once were three Indian squaws. One slept on a bear skin, one slept on a deer skin, and one slept on a hippopotamus skin. One day, all three of them became pregnant. The one on the bear skin gave birth to a strong, healthy boy, as did the one on the deer skin, but the one on the hippopotamus skin gave birth to twins, proving that the sons of the squaw of the hippopotamus are equal to the sons of the squaws of the other two hides.

Or at least make every song playable on every stage. (or is that something you unlock later?) I love 75m, but it only has one decent song, and that one gets repetitive pretty quickly.

In fact, that would go well with the idea that someone had (can't remember if it was here or on GameFAQs) to be able to edit existing stages in the stage editor, which would let tourney players conform stages to their idea of fairness, and allow me to put the Douchuumann song, or however it's spelled, on 75m.

I want an Excite Truck stage with randomly generated terrain. Only downside is it'd have to have Excite Truck music on it...

Hmm...

I also want to play songs from an SD card.

It really is a shame that the Dreamcast didn't do better. If it had come out one year later, and Sonic Team spent that year intensively studying how to make a good 3D Sonic game, it probably would have been the 360 of last gen. I never had one, but I always wanted one just for the VMUs. But by next gen, color touch screens built into controllers and terabyte hard drives built into consoles will replace them. Still, nothing will be as cool as using miniature Game Boys as memory cards, no matter how prohibitively expensive they were.

That may be why Nintendo's not supporting Wii-DS connectivity very much -- once the standard controllers have screens, console to handheld connectivity will be mostly obsoleted. Guess that's mostly a good thing, since it means you won't have to buy any special equipment to play Four Swords 3, or if someone finally decides to follow up on Nintendo's claim with the Gamecube that you could make a football game that lets you pick your plays without your opponent seeing them, you'll still have analog sticks on all the controllers.

Maybe the DS will officially become the main handheld, and the Game Boy will be integrated into the next console. That means the DS 2 will be a Game Boy and the Super Wii's controllers will have screens.

(Super Wii probably isn't the actual name, but I'm betting it's the actual concept. Every other generation, Nintendo introduces something revolutionary on the home console, and then the following generation is basically the same thing but with better graphics, a few more buttons, and more ergonomical controllers.)

We wouldn't lose if we won?

Actually, the answer was supposed to be that the tagline had already been used, but you get extra credit for going even deeper.

Another possible answer was that the "offer void in Utah" was a rather insanely obscure reference to the MST3K movie, reminding one that this movie would probably have been great for the show, but it's been cancelled for almost 10 years, which is very wrong. I didn't expect anyone to get that one, though.

And Glorb is also technically right, as the source image from Wikipedia was from the checkerboard article. I didn't check the chessboard article, which is apparently separate, for a picture.

Only 3 hats, though. The blue one is just an optical illusion created by the other three.

- The other day I sat behind a guy that looked like Matt Damon
- I'm in a Facebook group about some guy who looks like the face that used to be in the top corner of the site
- The campus pastor here looks and sounds exactly like Joan Cusack. Gets really distracting sometimes
- There's another guy who I insist looks like Hugh Laurie, but no one else has ever agreed with me
- I also think Hugh Laurie looks a little like Gene Wilder, but since I don't know either of them personally, that's not relevant
- One of my profs looks a little like Tony Shaloub
- There's a guy in my church who has a huge white beard and a rotund figure. One day he wore a red shirt, and my 3-year-old sister saw him and yelled "Ho-ho!" because that's what she called Santa back then, and because he looks like Santa.

The DS as the third pillar is like the third handle on the N64 controller, with the stick. If it didn't work, we could just ignore it and go back to the left handle, but instead, the third handle ended up becoming the left handle on the Gamecube. And then the former left handle got integrated into the right handle in a new non-sided handle with the Wii. Don't know how that part translates in the analogy.

General Chat / Re: Pancakes or Waffles?
« on: March 28, 2008, 03:53:59 PM »
I was suddenly reminded of the blooper in the first MST3K Poopie tape where Joel walks in holding a plate of waffles and, after several seconds of eating them, starts to say his line, but says "Pancakes" instead of "Waffles," then immediately catches his mistake and walks off stage. Believe me, it's a lot funnier when it's not just being clinically described.

Anyway, W is for Win. I can't get any satisfaction from breakfast if there's not something crunchy. Pancakes with fruit or chocolate chips inside of them will suffice, but if it's just regular flat soft pancakes versus waffles at just the right position on the Moh's scale, there's no contest in my mind.

However, if there's some good bacon, pancakes are acceptable, but they have to at least be banana pancakes.

And some of the song choices themselves are speculation. For example, the Partners in Time boss battle theme is meant to represent the track labelled "MLRPG02", which could be anything from either M&L game.
