Japan WiiWare launch details

Nintendo has finally unveiled the launch date and lineup for WiiWare, a download service for original Wii games. On March 25, Dr. Mario & Virus Buster (1000 Wii Points) will be one of the nine games available for purchase when WiiWare goes live in Japan.

WiiWare is currently scheduled to launch May 12 in North America.

*scratches head* How is that particular WiiWare game any different from visually-upgraded Virtual Console titles? Don't they have that game already in the form of Nintendo Puzzle Collection? And Dr. Mario 64?

Enough that it's nothing short of the Eight Wonder of the World that Nintendo is doing absolutely jack and squat about Wii storage space (seriously, though, I don't know. Doubt I'll be buying many WiiWare games anyway).

Which never came about in America? (but should've) ...As for Dr. Mario 64 (geez, forgot that game existed)... well, Nintendo's no stranger to rehashes.
