Author Topic: Ideas For Other People  (Read 9741 times)

« on: December 06, 2003, 07:30:08 PM »
Here is where you post ideas you have to improve other people and the way they post. (Now, I don't want to start any arguements) For example, I think Fifth should have a signature like: Fee, Fie, Foe, Fifth.
(You know, from Jack & The Beanstock)
I'm sorry if this is a stupid topic. (It's the Applebees, it's gone to my head!!!)

Behold the overwhelming power of my signature and bow before me! BOW!
Your sig is annoying. -Deezer

This is a good and bad thread.

Good- It can definitly be good for people to settle grudges, etc. People can suggest new sigs without getting in trouble for spamming, possibly; those kind of things.

Bad- People might start arguments which is the last thing we would need. A close-happy mod might just stroll by and close it for no reason leading to more arguments. But, if it happens, we can try and fix it somehow. If it doesn't work, it should be closed WITH A WARNING FROM A MOD THEN THREAD CREATOR'S PERMISSION.

NOTE: If a mod gives a warning for this thread, we can see if we can talk to them and strike a deal, but if not, I think mods should have to have permission from the creator of this to close it. If it gets TOTALLY OUT OF HAND, then mods should be able to close it without permission.

Sound like a plan to y'all?

I think trainman shouldn't say "y'all", and he should fix the "I"m" in his sig.

I think mooneye821 and uvg should learn to spell at least three words correctly.

I think everyone should fix the double quotes in his or her sig.

Just type what you want into something like Microsoft Word that automatically puts in smart quotes and paste that in as your sig. Problem fixed.

"I think trainman shouldn't say "y'all", and he should fix the "I"m" in his sig."

Y'all: Look, I'm from Texas and it's an extreme habit. Lay off please.

I"M: I"m sorry about that, but that happens automatically. I"m not wanting that to happen; doesn"t that bother you when that happens?

Don't worry, Trainman, Luigison needs to capitalize your name.  If you think about it, you say y'all very rarely, especially compared to how often Sapphira makes the "XD"

Sorry Trainman.  I didn't mean to upset you.  I am from Mississippi and say ya'll a lot myself.  I should have been a more help poster like Lizard Dude reguarding the quotation marks.

I think Deezer needs to post more.  Especially to tell forum members of site updates like a new mailbag posted.

Frostbites back.  That's good enough for me.

Now if we could just get Watoad back.

I saw that mistake after I posted it.  Noticed I spelled it correctly the first time.  But, I decided that I was spending to much time here editing post for spelling and grammer errors.  Now, I am wasting my time explaining myself.  I think Luigison should stop posting in the thread before he starts a flame war.

If you talk about yourself in third person, are you helping an "other"?

I think we should start talking in the 5th person.
(5th person is when you talk about other people but say it like you're talking about yourself)
EX. Person I'm going to be talking about: Mario
I'm a short Italian plumber. I have a brother named Luigi and my arch nemisis is Bowser.

There you go, everyone indulge in my new way of talking.

That's like a wacky combo of 1st Person and 3rd Person.... 1+3=4 Shouldn't it be called 4th Person Perspective then? Isn't 2nd person We? Or is that You? How many Perspectives are there?
