Is it just me, or do the Toad residents seem kind of...odd?  I mean, they have mushrooms for heads.  Tayce T. is a Toad.  And she COOKS mushroom heads!!! Mario is Toad's friend, and he eats Mushrooms!  Is Toad Town a town of cannibalism or what???

RUN, MARIO, GO AS FAST AS YOU CAN, before they start selling plumber heads in their sick stores!!!

Anyone else have an idea about why this is so?

Ahaha, I have never thought of it that way. However, I believe there are distinct features that separate the Toads, which are humaniod mushrooms, from Item Mushrooms, which are the mushrooms they eat.

Ah, good point...I just realized something: the item mushrooms have different facial features as well.  So that probably helps separate them.

By this logic, you could say that humans are cannibalistic for eating beef, cuz humans and cows are both mammals, or that my pet budgee is a cannabal for liking chicken eggs, cuz they're both birds.  They're different species.  Besides, I think Mushrooms are just inanimate objects in the games.  Maybe they move cuz they're enchanted?

Ummm....Those mushroom things on their heads are hats.

Toad is seen in one of the cartoons with his mushroom hat thing off sometimes.

There's no danger in a human living among cannibalistic mushrooms.  A human living among cannibalistic humans, or a mushroom living among cannibalistic mushrooms, or a human living among man-eating mushrooms, would have something to fear.  But Mario is safe.

What about mushrooms living among mushroom-eating humans?

Besides, why would the Toads want to eat their hero and protector?

Oh, you know, just in case eating their own heads doesn't suit their tastes anymore...

The mushrooms on their heads are just hats as said before so how are they canables(sp?)?

Yeah, if you consider the cartoons or shows as a canon part of the Mario scene.  I have to tell you, I will NEVER like the bald, fat, green King Koopa.

Yeah, he looked bad! Anyways, I don't consider them cannibals. They're too nice and amiable to be like that. It is not cannibalism!
