A new generation of Kongs emerge as Rare shifts the Donkey Kong universe many years into the future. The original Donkey Kong, known as Cranky Kong in the series, guides his grandson through DK Island in search of the evil Kremling leader.

Donkey Kong Country was added to the Wii's Virtual Console on February 19th, 2007. The game is playable with the Wii Classic Controller or a GameCube controller. It is available for 800 Wii Points.
