MushroomMushrooms are the trademark plant of the appropriately named "Mushroom World" that Mario and his friends inhabit. Though there are many distinct species of mushroom scattered throughout the Mario universe, the most common variety is the "Super" Mushroom, which allows Mario to grow to twice his normal size. Mushrooms are also a tasty snack, and in Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario the edible plants demonstrated their powerful healing qualities.
