Harder opponents
On the Vs. Mode menu screen, set the mode to "COM." Hold L, R, and X, then press Start to begin the round.

Bonus rounds
On the Action Mode Menu screen, set the round to 10, set the speed to High, and set the music to Off. On Controller 2, simultaneously press the L Button, R Button, Select, and Start. On Controller 1, press Left or Right to select the stage you wish to start on.
