Let's face it, you're not going to like every Mario character. With the good, always come the bad. Post your most disliked Mario characters and why you dislike them.
Waluigi - He's annoying. He's lame. I just plain hate him. Wario is way cooler...
Baby Mario - ANNOYING. That cry really gets on your nerves... Even if he's pretty good in Mario Tennis. But how is it Baby Mario and Super Mario exist in the same time period?
Baby Luigi - "Uh-oh, Baby Wuigi time." Same as Baby Mario. Minus being good in Mario Tennis.
Baby Bowser - I didn't mind Baby Bowser in Yoshi's Island or Yoshi's Story. But now I've had enough of him. I'm sick of him being in the Mario Party games and he's annoying in Sunshine. And I hate how they call him "Koopa Kid". He is NOT a Koopa Kid.
Petey Pirahna - I honestly never thought I'd find myself disliking this guy. The first boss in Mario Sunshine. No, I didn't find him challanging. I had no problem with him... but why does Nintendo insist on using him all the time now? First Mario Kart and now Mario Power Tennis. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in Mario Baseball or Mario Party 7 either. =/
I'm sure there are others I don't like, but these are the ones that come to mind... but who do you dislike?

I hate Baby Mario's annoying cry in Yoshi's Island. I think it was meant to be a little annoying, but it bothers me.
- My favorite character is Luigi Jr. Let's just call him Luigison and forget all about that typo. -

Waluigi, Baby Mario, and those monkeys in Super Mario 64 and Mario Party games really bug me (first your hat and then your sanity!). But it was kinda funny (Waluigi) because for my golden birthday that I never stop talking about, I rented MK:DD and when one of my friends who was new to the Mario universe played the game he died laughing at how skinny Waluigi was. He called him anorexic or some other word like that. But other than looking funny he's just stupid.
BTW, Baby Bowser, and Bowser Jr. are not the same character. In YI Baby Bowser is the real Bowser as a baby, and in Mario Party he has stupid little clones or something. In MP5 they can somehow split into three Koopa Kids of different colors. In my theory, the Koopa Kids were somehow combined into one stoopa Koopa, Bowser Jr., and Bowser has no idea how to turn them back (rediculous, I know, but it's the only thing that can keep me from going insane).

I really dislike the three "Koopa clones" from Mario Party 5. Similarly to Baby Mario/Luigi, they mess up plots and timelines, and don't belong there. They should leave the duplicates to the Boos and make Bowser more menacing by himself!

I hate Waluigi and those stupid "Bowser Juniors". Waluigi is always the computer player when we play Mario Party 5 because we love to whup his butt. and about those new Bowser Juniors, the REAL koopa kids are better in just about every way. I loved their return in "Mario & Luigi". Come to think of it, that had shown that at least 2 koopa kids can split in 3.

Petey Pirahna. They should have just kept him as a mini-boss, not full-fledged addition to the Mario lineup. What's next? Mario Golf X, with Eely Mouth and that Manta Ray made out of light.

Donkey Kong. He's just a [dumb] stupid gorilla with no brain and too many muscles, even Diddy Kong had to teach to golf politely. Btw, Diddy Kong is lame too.
I don't like Baby Mario either. What a stupid idea to put both baby brothers together in one game with grown-up bros! Allthough baby Luigi is much funnier, I can't stand both sqeaky voices..
I'ts hilarious how many of you dislike my favourite character: Waluigi! Yes, he might be one on the list of most disliked characters. But hey, wouldn't be annoying at all to be designed so late, all because Nintendo wanted a bigger character selection for their non-platformgames (see: Golf, Tennis, party..blah)? Waluigi might be annoying, because Wario gets all the attention. Wario is cool, I had lots of fun playing Wariogames, but he's just a big fat selfish [jerk]. Waluigi might be skinny, because he's depressed. Look at him, he's sneaky, fast and agile! Isn't it fun Wario has got a evil brother too after all? One with a much cooler additude, cause Wario's is just bad I think. If we all pay much more attention to Waluigi, he'll sure becomes a greater hero than Wario ever! I'm one who really appreciate him, though.

I don't know who to disagree with first! Yoshi is not a wuss, thank you. He's quite awesome I think (besides being weak in SSBM Adventure and fragile in SMS). Have you ever seen any other dinosaur with a long tongue that can swallow enemies and lay an egg in less than two seconds? And then throw those eggs at more enemies? One of the Yoshis saved Mario's life when he was a baby, and to this day Yoshi continues to help Mario beat the baddies and let him ride on his back (think of all that weight!). The other guys, Donkey, Diddy, and Wario, are also pretty cool (but Wario is annoying, yet in a funny way). If you disagree with me then Diddy will shoot you full of peanuts!
SSY, M&L has the real Koopa Kids? Dude! That's great! How did they sneak them in? I thought Shiggy was tired of them.

I always thought Waluigi was a bad idea(and a crappy name). I didn't like the inclusion of Toadette or the Baby Mario Bros. in MK:DD either(1/2 vs. 3/4 = fun).
Time slowed and Reality bent.
But on and on the Eggman went.

Personally I hate that stupid sand bird in SMS. He(?) cost me at least 15 lives trying to complete that episode. Also I hate bowser jr as his arrival means that we'll probably never see the koopalings again.

Oh! You know who I hated? Huff N. Puff from Paper Mario. God, he was annoying to defeat. Everytime you hit him the little Huff N. Puff's would come out...

That purple bob-omb type creature in SM64 that picks you up and lobs you halfway across the level and the chargin' chucks from SMW. Also luigi in SMA2 for jumping like he did in SMB2 and SMA.

Seriously though say what you want I won't stop you. Waluigi isn't THAT bad. I just think he was a little unnessesary. Bowser Jr.s however, I have NO sympathy for. I'm sure most of us would like the real Koopa Kids in 3D. Of course, Nintendo screwed that up when they made Mario Party 4. Koopa kids my (butt)!

Oh, those Purple "Bob-ombs"! I don't really know what they are, but they're not Bob-ombs. I used to think they have a jet-pack, and I still do, somewhat. It would expalin the strange whirring noise they make.

Having not played most of the party or tennis games, I didn't even know that Petey Piranha was now a reoccuring character. Frankly, I'm pleasantly surprised. I'm a fan of weird creatures, and always prefer to play as them when possible. If anything I would like to see MORE regular enemies/bosses becoming common characters.
I wish the Dr. Mario viruses were playable characters in some games...
Oh wait, characters you don't like eh? Well, I have to agree about Baby Bowser. I thought he WAS Bowser as a baby in Yoshi's Island, he should be kept that way. He steals attention away from the real koopa kids!
I like Waluigi's design, but he should be more than "wario for luigi". He should have a more unique personality, and a better name. They couldn't come up with anything better than "Waluigi!?" Whole point of Wario is the "M" upside-down.
Course, the closest thing to an upside-down "L" is an "F". Maybe Waluigi IS better than "Fuigi"...

Uh, you guys I think we always love Vivian for now, but I hate to admit it and break this to her. You see Brothers and Sister are suppose to be embarrassed somebody, and drives them crazy. I have to disagree with the person who said Donkey Kong had no brains and too many muscles. First of all, Donkey Kong has no muscle compared to Bowser. In MG:TT, Bowser is bigger, and he's slouched over more, so when you see them both stand upright, Bowser's even bigger. And have you seen Bowser in SMS? "He's like a friggin' house, man!" Basically, I don't like Donkey Kong either, and I find it annoying how advertisements say, try taking on this giant gorilla. What giant gorilla? I just see a gorilla, no different from any other gorilla.

Well, Baby Mario has been a long-disliked character of mine, but Petey Piranha takes the cake. Not only for appearing in later Mario games, but for the dumb decision to have Petey "throw up" if doing badly. Those Mario sports games just get more and more embarrassing...
oh, and hi everyone that I haven't seen for like four or five years.
Why I continue to try to save the world, I shall never know.

Aww, I like the koopa kids in the Mario Party games. I love that level in, I think it's MP3, where you're on the Bowser festival board and they stop the game to have their parade and then you lose coins. Well, not the losing coins part. And no, Koopa Kids /= Koopalings /= Baby Bowser /= Bowser Jr. Four different entities. Or, well, 12 different entities, I guess.
Ironically, I dislike Mario and Luigi. I play the games for the minor characters and the enemies, heh.

I think pink isn't also the right color for Yoshi, might it be why you dislike him? I think red and blue Yoshi's are ok! :)
Oh, ofcourse Donkey Kong has no muscles in front of Bowser. No one has muscles in front of him! I don't like Bowser and his Koopakids. They're plain evil, perfect characters for plain hating! Bowser Jr. is ok, he's a pretty good racer in Mariokart:DD. I do not hate Donkey Kong, I just think he's annoying and greedy. Just a stupid monkey! Sorry..

Hmm, kinda hard to pick a character I don't like. I guess the closest I can get to a Mario character I don't like are Kat and Ana from Wario Ware, I'm not too fond of them though I don't know if they really count.
I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Daisy yet, alot of people I know hate her for "Hi, I'm Daisy! Hi, I'm Daisy! Hi, I'm Daisy! Hi, I'm Daisy! Hi, I'm Daisy!"

I don't like how in MG:TT Yoshi and Birdo have the "rainbow" nice shots. A thing like that could send a newcomer to the Mario series running. I voted against Peach, mostly because I liked all the other characters. Waluigi I like because he's the same as Wario, but less... Wario-ish. That then makes Wario more boring, but not hateful. Yoshi's okay. Mario and Luigi are okay. The problem with Peach is... well, in SMS she was too dumb. Just a little. If only they had used her eyes more to display more...thoughts, or if only they had made her speak more... fluently. Face it, Mario is the only one who should be falsetto.

Unfortunately, they put the moronic and stupid Bowser Jr. that everyone HATES in M&L:PiT. Even after I e-mailed Nintendo complaining about Bowser Jr. and that I wanted the original Koopalings back.

Baby Bowser is from SMW2:YI. He doesn't bother me, he was a good final boss. Bowser Jr. is from SMS. He bothers me, he was a crappy final boss. Don't worry about the Koopalings, they still exist. M&L:SS was released on the same day as MKDD. It would be pretty cool if one of them joined your party in the next Mario RPG...

C'mon now, Waluigi provided us with the best course in Mario Kart DS. Waluigi Pinball is so creative, they even make a "You lost a ball" sound when your character goes past the flippers as if your character was the ball. Daisy must DIIIIE!

She doesn't shout half the crap that Daisy does. Every time Daisy passes someone up, she shouts a loud obnoxious "WOOHOO!" And since her AI usually makes her a 1st-placer, you hear "WOOHOO! WOOHOO! WOOHOO! WOOHOO!" Every time she gets hit by a shell and moves back uop into first.

It's somehow rewarding if you use Daisy regularly and overtake people- it's kind of like getting revenge on the AI.
BTW, if I get sick of Luigi for some reason, I use Daisy. She's my 2nd favourite character.

I like Yoshi best, because I used the Egg 1 for most of the GPs. Toad's 2nd best, I've always preferred the little guys... I don't know about R.O.B., his first kart is weird. The standard RB is good, but Bowser in the ROB-LGS is a little disturbing. Actually, Bowser looks all wrong in any kart smaller than one of legs would be. R.O.B's good at staying off my nerves, with just a little mechanical whirring, but... he's still a bit weird. Maybe Yoshi55 could explain the ROB-BLS is supposed to be.

If I had to choose, I'd say Waluigi, but I wouldn't even say "dislike", more like "least favorite". I never really hate characters. I may feel more strongly for certian characters over other, but not really dislike and never hate.

I'ts hilarious how many of you dislike my favourite character: Waluigi! Yes, he might be one on the list of most disliked characters. But hey, wouldn't be annoying at all to be designed so late, all because Nintendo wanted a bigger character selection for their non-platformgames (see: Golf, Tennis, party..blah)? Waluigi might be annoying, because Wario gets all the attention. Wario is cool, I had lots of fun playing Wariogames, but he's just a big fat selfish [jerk]. Waluigi might be skinny, because he's depressed. Look at him, he's sneaky, fast and agile! Isn't it fun Wario has got a evil brother too after all? One with a much cooler additude, cause Wario's is just bad I think. If we all pay much more attention to Waluigi, he'll sure becomes a greater hero than Wario ever! I'm one who really appreciate him, though.

Funny though... i like most of the characters you people hate (like baby luigi, baby mario, & waluigi) , but hate some of the characters you people like. for example yoshi (they've gone too far with that dinosaur) and daisy (where did she come from? shes been gone for ages, then suddenly comes back).

I dislike Peach the most. Because even though she gets kidnapped all the time she seems to have the best stats in a spinoff game. :( Annoying. Also in the Mario Party series she was always the toughest CPU.

Waluigi actually grew on me. One of the best comic relief in video gaming.

I voted Yoshi in the poll, but really, the thing that bugs me about Yoshi are those friggin' sounds Nintendo keeps recycling. They came from Yoshi's Story, a not very popular N64 game that starred Yoshi (*surprise!*).
Anyway, Yoshi would be better if they stopped using those YS sounds and went back to the sounds used in all pre YS games..
As for other characters that I hate..
Baby Mario/Luigi- they mess with continuuity. I know Miyamoto has said that he doesn't care to tie characters to a timeline, but when baby characters can appear in the same game at the same time with their grown up counter parts, there's a problem.
Baby Bowser/Bowser Jr- this is just laziness on Nintendo's part. They are just using the Baby Bowser (or Koopa Kid, which they are not) model from Mario Party 4, adding a bib/mask, and calling it Bowser Jr. I dislike everything about this abomination. What happened to the REAL Koopa Kids (Larry, Morton Jr, Wendy O, Iggy, Roy, Lemmy, Ludwig Von)?
Petey Pirahna- This is the wrong way to re-do a classic enemy: turning it into a giant baby Pirahna Plant. Petey should just jump into the fires of Corona Mountain, and take Bowser Jr/Baby Bowser with him. It would do the entire Mario-verse good.
Piantas/Nokis- I really don't dislike these paricular characters, I just wanted to say that I don't like how locations and characters from SUper Mario Sunshine are being used and reused. Super Mario Sunshine was good, but it wasn't that good (imo).

Actually, with M&L:PiT, the baby bros. in the present make a lot more sense now. Of course, it'd make more sense if you think of PiT as occurring BEFORE the time the various games with the babies in them. But now that there's proof of time holes in the Mario universe, it could explain a lot of the "inconsistencies" of continuum now. (Hmm, this should be in the Mariology thread...)
And I like Yoshi's voice. It's actually...a voice. Birdo's voice, however... I like her old one better. It used to actually be a voice, not annoying, strange noises. I don't really like Bowser's voice; it doesn't seem as...fitting to him, or something. Not deep or vicious enough or something.

Donkey Kong- I never really liked or disliked him, but I don't understand how he keeps appearing in the Mushroom Kingdom if he was the original DKjr, and helped Cranky (the original DK) kidnap Pauline (not Peach or Daisy, as some other websites would make you think).

M&L:PiT was a pretty good game. I'm glad I got it. It's not as good as M&L:SS, and it's a little too short, but it's still good.

No, it has plenty of logic, it turns out the present Mushroom Kingdom already knew the bros. would defeat all, they just never knew how, so really, it's impossible to witness it in the present.

The present Castle is still intact because the Shroobs were defeated before t got to that point. It's like in Back to the Future, how Marty slowly began to disappear, but he didn't because everything went as it was supposed to. If theBros. wasted too much time in the past, the castle might have changed.

Forgive me for being cynical and loud-mouthed (and maybe annoying), but I find Bowser the most annoying character the the Super Mario Bros. games. He used to be very evil, but now he's done the same thing over and over again that it's become stale and he's become stupid and immature, even more than Bowser Jr. And he makes poor Bowser Jr. look bad. I don't see why Bowser Jr. is not embarrased by his dad, especially when Bowser lied to him that Peach is his mother. Bowser doesn't scare me at all, and I don't see he scares the Super Mario Bros. and Peach.
Speaking of Peach, I head in the new game Super Princess Peach that Peach has to save the Super Mario Bros. from Bowser. Not bad, but it doesn't really change what Bowser has become. He's become a lot like Dr. Evil in Austin Powers, who is not evil, by the way, but stupid. I strongly recommend that the find out what happened to Bowser's real wife and Bowser Jr.'s mom. The Mario games are not supposed to be psychological dramas, they're supposed to be fun games about the battle between good and evil. Bowser's way past his prime, and yes, his character has been ruined/destroyed.
I would like it if at least Luigi figures out that Bowser was lying that Peach had Bowser Jr. with him, because he's smarter than Mario.

By Birdo's "old voice" do you mean the one she had in Super Mario Advance? Or did she have a speaking voice in other games?

Baby Mario - ANNOYING. That cry really gets on your nerves... Even if he's pretty good in Mario Tennis. But how is it Baby Mario and Super Mario exist in the same time period?
Baby Luigi - "Uh-oh, Baby Wuigi time." Same as Baby Mario. Minus being good in Mario Tennis.
Baby Bowser - I didn't mind Baby Bowser in Yoshi's Island or Yoshi's Story. But now I've had enough of him. I'm sick of him being in the Mario Party games and he's annoying in Sunshine. And I hate how they call him "Koopa Kid". He is NOT a Koopa Kid.
I'm not one who gets easily annoyed, but my main concern about Baby Mario and Baby Luigi is that it's impossible for them to exist the same time as the present Super Mario Brothers, but of course I guess there's no timeline in the Mario sports and Kart games.
And Baby Bowser is not to be confused with the Baby Bowsers of the Mario Party games and Bowser Jr. of Super Mario Sunshine. They may look alike (because all Monstrous Koopas, as I like to call them, look the same), but Baby Bowser of Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Story is the young version of the Bowser we know now. And Yoshi's Island takes place years ago when the Super Mario Brothers were babies. As for Yoshi's Story, Baby Bowser either went back in time to when Yoshi was a born or different Yoshis were born after the Super Mario Brothers were saved from being raised by the Koopas.
Oh, and speaking of Koopas. I don't think the Koopas were really evil until Bowser came along. I think Kamek was just paranoid when he prophesized that the Super Mario Bros. would bring down the Koopa Kingdom, and it's really Bowser's fault. He provoked the Super Mario Brothers into foiling his invasion of the Koopa Kingdom in the original 1985 Super Mario Brothers. Of course, he didn't want the Super Mario Brothers to stop him, but he did want power and to be evil. In addition to us finding out what happened to Bowser's real wife, I think we should find out what made him so evil. I think one of the reasons he became less evil is because of his weakness and soft spot for Peach.
Anyway, like I said, I'm sorry for having a big mouth or making you feel bad, but that this is what I believe.

I suppose you could say the spinoffs exist "outside of time." Then again, Luigi acknowledged they happened in his diary in Paper Mario. They happen between the games, when the Bros. have spare time. As for the babies appearing in the spinoffs, it's all explained in M&L: PiT. Time holes. Although time holes didn't really happen until the Shroobs took over in the past and E. Gadd invented his time machine in the present. Maybe when Luigi is describing "playing golf and having parties" in his PM diary, he means playing them as Baby Luigi with his future (present) self and the rest of the future people, and the spinoffs actually happened after M&L: PiT when E. Gadd had his time machine.

I'm going to be quite honest, and because of it, I'm probably gonna get attacked by an angry mob of fans: Peach has the most annoying voice on the face of the earth these days. And, besides that, she's just plain annoying! *gigglesnort* I don't think the descriptions they have for her in the instruction booklets for the Mario Party and sport games help, either. Have you read those things?!
Oh, and about the constant Waluigi bashing. Let me state my oppinion on the matter: He's my favorite character, for one thing. People bash him just because he's a newer character and hasn't gotten his own spotlight yet, really. You know, Luigi started out as a sidekick and look where he is now! Besides, if you're acctually calling Waluigi stupid, than please just look at Peach and several of the other Mario characters. The guy's sneaky and stealthy. Also, for those who think that he's unoriginal just because of his name, you should know that it means 'someone who's bad'. =P So nyah. *stops ranting before she goes off on an even longer rant*

I like Peach, personally. Sometimes her girly nature and blonde personality is just plain funny. I remember reading one of her quotes off of someone's signature. It was of when she figured out that (spoiler for PM2 if you're lame and don't have it) she was on the moon, and she said: "The moon? Like the big one that hangs up in the sky?" (spoiler over) And so, I just find her blonde moments and occasional bliss rather humorous.
She's simply to innocent to dislike.
And as far as Waluigi goes, I would like to see him tying Peach up to a railroad track one of these days, snickering and rubbing the end of his mustache. That'd be great.

I voted for Waluigi. Not because I dislike the character, but because he has potential that Nintendo hasn't tapped into, and never will. I hate when they make a character with lots of potential that goes untapped, sending them into 'early retirement' or abuse as filler character who nobody likes. This is why I wanted the Wario's Woods bosses to come back. As for people hating his name, I think it would've turned out better if they made it Waruigi instead of Waluigi. Why? Because:
1. It stresses the word that the name is played on: Warui, which means bad.
2. The symbol on his hat looks sorta like a lowercase R.
3. It looks less like they stuck 'wa' at the end of Luigi. Thereby ridding us of that cliche.
So that's my 2 cents.

Well, I personally dislike Waluigi because Luigi is my favorite character. I just don't like him because he's the foil of my personal favorite. I don't mind his name either. Wario was made to be an opposite of Mario. They flip over the M to make the name for the opposite character. You can't really flip over an L without using a lowercase r and naming him Ruigi so I think Waluigi is just fine.

Do you think Fairemaster has played SMB2, SMRPG, or SSBM, but especially SSBM? Peach has shown us that she isn't always the defenseless damsel in distress that we all think her to be. Peach can be undefeatable on SSBM if you know how to properly use her. Yes she's always being kidnapped, but that's a special ingredient that makes a Mario game what it is.

Bowser Jr. I hate, but Daisy and Waluigi had potential. The only problem is that the folks at Nintendo never chose to tap into that potential.

Over all I have to say I hate several characters equally.
Bowser Jr.- I love the koopalings and he killed them off with his arrival
"Peach"-I really get tired of saving her all the time, and I'd never pick her as a selectable character, I have put quotes around her name because even though I know her full name is Princess Peach Toadstool, I'll always call her Princess Toadstool
Toad-actually he was one of my favorite characters until they made his voice all gravally

The Baby Bros. I understand that the prequels needed a younger version of the Bros. but as selectable characters I cannot stand them
Mallo-as soon as I can switch to Geno and Bowser I do, Mallow is a wuss and a crybaby and overall very annoying
Shy-Guys-actually I like them, what I don't like is how they suddenly showed up in the mushroom kingdom along with Birdo and a few others that are only supposed to exsist in Sub-Con

Why does everybody hate the characters I like? Anyway, I don't hate the following characters, but I dislike them compared to the others.
1. Donkey Kong and all his monkey pals.
2. Wario because he is....something.
3. Waluigi because he is just there to be there.
That is about it.

2. Wario is not just something, he's everything Mario isn't, that's why he got his own series and is rather popular.
3. I already said that Waluigi wasn't always 'just there', but he reverted to that status because the developers did't use him properly.

I think the line should never have been crossed. The DK on the Mario side could have easily been Old DK, and the events of DKC could be in the distant future, but the only thing preventing that is the DKC stuff in the spinoffs such as Diddy. Now, I accept all the games as canon, but how do we rectify this?

Why do you guys hate Waluigi so much? He's my second-to-best character (next to Mario) in the Mario series. The only problem is that his voice can get annoying once in a while. But look at it this way, Wario has no brains, a fatty, and no common sense at all. Waluigi is healthy, not a fatty, and A LOT of brains then Wario. In fact, I think they should make a Waluigi game.
Anyway, here's my disliked characters
Wario- Read my statement in the above paragraph.
Peach- Even though she can save herself (only 3 times!) she always gets kidnapped! Can she ever get out of messes? I think Daisy is much better.
Baby Mario Bros.- One word: ANNOYING!!! There cries make me want to kill them until they all fully smashed! Of course, Mario wouldn't exist in the future, so I wouldn't do it
Manta Ray- Just a pointless boss...
Rapheal Raven- Another pointless boss...
Professor E. Gadd- He's a weird, pointless character. He gave Bowser Jr. the magical paintbrush!

Waluigi may have been an unoriginal concept, but his character was a lot different than Wario. If Nintendo used this character properly, I'm sure you wouldn't hate him so much. Same goes for Daisy. As for BJ, I completely agree with you.

Actually, Gadd is one of the better new Mario characters if you ask me. Don't base your opinion of him off of SMSu, the game had a pretty terrible plot altogether. In M&L:PiT he gets a good major role and doesn't do anything stupid.

You know that Bowser Jr. was probably under the guise of Mario when E. Gadd gave him the paint brush. While the difference between Shadow Mario and the real one is obvious to us, in the game world, it might not. Look at the island chapter of PM2TTYD, that X-naut guy talks to the screen about how we can tell its him and mario can't, maybe that applies in SMS?

I'm happy to say I can't forsee him surviving the GameCube era, or at least the major exposure he gets right now. We just saw a lot of him because Nintendo was like "Whee! Mario Sunshine everybody!!" I wouldn't mind seeing him returning as a boss, but I think his days as a playable character in the Mario Sports/Kart series are pretty numbered.
What's with all the Peach hate? If she didn't get kidnapped, we wouldn't have (real) Mario games. Plus she's hot. ;)

I just hope they don't add Petey Piranha, or King Boo to the SSBB character list. I wouldn't mind seeing them as trophies, but that's the MOST I want to see of them in SSBB. In fact, I don't know if I'd want to see Bowser Jr./Shadow Mario as a playable character. His moveset wouldn't be very original. (Koopaling form would be a lighter, quicker, less powerful Bowser. Shadow Mario form would be even more Mario clone than the Doc. And Zelda/Sheik already has a transforming move)

Nah, that'll never happen. Sakurai isn't baised nor is he aiming for any specific part of the Mario series(or any other series for that matter). That's why the character's moves come from various games and characters like Fawful aren't playable. The core Mario characters are Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, DK(though he has a series in his own right) Wario and Toad(who still hasn't been playable even though he deserves it) and chances are they'll be the only Mario characters who are given the title of Playable Character.

Wouldn't it be really cool if people could join your team in Mario and Luigi? You could make your team how you want it kind of like the idea with Pokemon, but I guess that would defeat the purpose of Mario and Luigi.

He had his little adventure in SMS, mm'kay? Which brings up a good question, how the hell can HE get a major roll in a game and Waluigi's still stuck in sport and board games?! *curses under her breath bitterly*
Anywho, also, King Boo could have been a better character if they didn't include him in Mario Kart: Double Dash! . Don't get me wrong, I love boos - they're my favorite 'side-creature-character' - and therefore, I think King Boo had a chance. But putting him in MK: DD!! was the kiss of death.

I think we'll see King Boo and Petey returning as boss characters. Heck, King Boo already showed up in Sunshine and Petey bounced back for New Super Mario Bros. King Boo is a good 'lesser' villain, and Petey fills the role of "big dumb monster" very nicely. He's kind of like the Mario equivalent to Metroid's Kraid.
--except Kraid is a bad-ass. ;)

King Boo was really an awesome character at his debut in Luigi's Mansion. Semi-transparency, glowing red eyes, blue mouth of death, unique crown... he was perfect. I don't know WHAT the SMSu staff was drinking the night they made King Boo's character model for the game... I mean, what is RIGHT about him?!?! I mean, if the drunken dazed look in his eyes wasn't awful enough, the crown was changed to the generic ruby-encrusted spiky gold style. In MK:DD he was all right, I guess... I mean, he's sober again, but he's as opaque as the printer in front of me and his eyes are just that typical beady "I'm just a cute round puff" look.
Petey Piranha wasn't that great to start out with and Nintendo just loves him to death. That's all I have to say about him.

YES! Exactly! Thank you! They ruined a great boss character - awsome villain, really - and then seem to simply adore this other (and in my oppinion a teensy bit worse - just a teensy bit) boss! It's like, 'What?! Do you guys have secret 'motives' in your brain storming sessions we just don't know about, like aged-scotch or something?!'
