Special "Black Friday" DSi bundles are coming in just a few days, including the Metallic Blue DSi. The bundle comes with Mario's face plastered over the box and with the following DSi titles preinstalled:
* Dr. Mario Express (http://themushroomkingdom.net/games/drmexpress)
* Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again! (http://themushroomkingdom.net/games/mvdkmma)
* WarioWare: Snapped! (http://themushroomkingdom.net/games/wwsnapped)
* Mario Clock (http://themushroomkingdom.net/games/marioclock)
* Mario Calculator (http://themushroomkingdom.net/games/mariocalculator)
The bundle should sell for the same price as a standard DSi system, and appears to be a "limited edition" release. There's also a white DSi with a bunch of Brain/Puzzle/Whatever games being released the same day.
$20 of free DSi software almost makes a DSi worthwhile! Almost... now, if they just brought back the GBA slot...

Well, if I did get a DSi, I'd prefer the white one, and I try not to get caught up in the ridiculous vicious cycle of Black Friday anyway. I'll admit that's a pretty good deal, though.

This sort of strikes me (hard, and right in the face) as an attempt to push DSis on people when they could and should be offering discounts on Wii games (*coughNSMBWcough*) as well.
Eh, maybe I'm just paranoid.

Simply put, Nintendo is pushing overpriced DSes with no GBA slots on us when they should be marketing discounted Wii titles.

The DSi doesn't make sense in the first place, so whatever.

It makes perfect sense--well, as much sense as a physical object can "make".

I haven't used the GBA slot on my DS in like two years.

In all honesty, I really don't care that much about the GBA slot being absent on the DSi. I mean, we've all got to move on eventually, and the removal of it does allow for some better, built-in features. I must say, though, that for Nintendo to do that is/was somewhat inconsiderate of the GH: On Tour series and, you know, their own Pokemon games.

Perhaps, but not until SMB2, SMB3, SMW, YI and every GBA Pokemon title are all released in DSi-compatible form.
