Title: Super TMK World

That's right. I'm making a SMW hack using Lunar Magic, and it will be based on TMK. The hack may not have complete graphic hacking, but the levels and names will be changed to suit TMK's atmosphere.

It will include TMK's staff and various regulars. One change is that "Mario" will be played by Lizard Dude. There has been much controversy in the chatroom about whom should really "be" Mario, but I picked Lizard Dude for he likes to dress up as Mario much often. Peach will be played by Sapphira, whom gets captured by Bowser, or in this case, (taken out). Deezer and I have agreed that Yoshi will be played by (Fifth). I haven't decided whom JJ, David, MegaByte, or Mushroom Boy will be played as. Deezer will be "in the background", in other words, he supplies the information one may need to proceed, like he does everyday on the site. Deezer and I also agreed that some of the Koopalings will be played by various banned people, like (taken out) and (taken out). There are other people I'm planning to find roles for, requesting in the chatroom.

You can download it at the Level editors section TMK has. I could name levels after regulars, and base the structure of the level on their personalities.

Ditto means "Same thing" or "Repeat."

If someone says "I like pretzels." then someone else says "Ditto." it means they also like pretzels.

I'm currently working on a ROM hack of SMW with Lunar Magic now too. I'm gonna make the hardest and most bizarre levels ever!

I find myself unable to enter the chatroom, so I suppose I'll request something here. Why not replace one of the bosses with Popple or something. I'm unclear as to whether you'll be changing only the names of things, or replacing sprites with other images, but if the latter is true, and since Popple images already exist, I'd like one of the bosses to be Popple... and if not, you can rename one of the pipes or blocks Popple... er, please.

The game is a ROM hack. When I finish, I will make a .IPS file, and that can be downloaded. You make a copy of an existing SMW ROM, and patch the .IPS file to the copy. Then open it and play the hack.

I'll be anything.  If you put those info boxes that say stuff when you hit them in levels, they can explain the names of different enemies, and you could name the enemies after people.  Like in a level with super koopas, a sign could say, "Warning: Markios ahead" or something.  Or a level with dolphins and those puffer fish, a sign could say, "Hop on a Deezer!  But avoid the JJs!", or whoever else there is.

I'd prefer for a world to be named after me, not a character. In particular, I'd most like the Forest stage named after me, complete with overly confusing map, Ghost House, and Castle stage.

If not that, I'll be Luigi. A fitting role for myself, I'd say.

I will be able to name levels after many of you in the future. I'm not sure if I can actually hack into the enemy names, but I can "nickname" them in message box texts.

PS, MarlieMoo14, to make screenshots just simply bring up the picture you want to snap while playing the game, then press the "Print Scr" or "Print Screen" button on your keyboard. Go into any paint program, and press "Ctrl + V". The screen you copied will be pasted into the file. Crop the picture so it's just of the game screen.

Cool idea, but why can't you hack the names for Mario and Luigi so they display as Lizard Dude and whatever you'd call Luigi? Also, could you make me Lakitu please?

Chupperson was pretty upset that you made him Yoshi.  I suggest changing that unless you want him to ban you or something.  His power still isn't on and may not be on until Sunday, so I thought I should say this now before it progresses too far.

If you want to request a level, here are the guidelines for describing the level you want:



Level Name

What do you want the level to be named? You can add your name, or just make up something original. Please note a name cannot exceed 19 characters. Anything that goes beyond the indicated number is cut off.



Level "Format"

What type of level do you prefer? Normal, Water, Ghost House, etc? Any level can be possible. See "Enemies" below.



Terrain & Features

How should the obstacles be presented? Should the level be only a series of slopes, a flat surface? Should there be dozens of platforms? A giant maze? You can also request to have mulitple areas for one level, connected by doors and pipes. It's up to you.



Enemies

What enemies do you want to appear in the level? Remember, the level format you pick, the enemies have to be in sync with it. If a enemy is placed into an unfamilar level (i.e. a Boo Buddy in a Water Level), the enemy just appears as a glitch, with its graphics messed up.


Music

What music do you want floating in the level background? There are 8 different tracks available:

01 Piano
02 Here we go!
03 Water Level
05 Boss Battle
06 Cave Drums
07 Ghost House
08 Castle
12 Switch Palace


These guidelines are all I can think of for now. Use the guidelines and design your level.

Level Name: TEM/Koopa Battle

Level: The normal room from the game

Terrain & Features: ditto

Enemies: 100 to 200 koopas

Music: The music from the Burly Brawl fight in Reloaded

I don't know if any of this is possible but if it is, that would be cool. Just LD fighting a whole mess of koopas, in an alloted time. (Perhaps by the time the song ends.) If this isn't possible, or too much work, that's alright.

Level Name: Markio Mountain

Level Format: flat at the very beginning, then a large slope that continues until the middle of the level, which then slopes down until the end.  Doesn't have to be a perfect slope, can have lots of flats and cliffs or whatever.  Clouds should be in level, with coins or a 1up.

Enemies: Mostly Rexes, and paratroopas.  Any other enemy will do.  There should be a Yoshi box somewhere in there, too.

Music: Just the normal SMW song, like in Yoshi's Island 1.

I feel bossy making a level for your game, but you don't have to use this if you don't want to.

Level Name: Vidgmchtr's Route

Format: Underground (Should be like a short cut to Castle #4)

Features: A bunch of pipes. The pipes should be color co-ordinated. It should be pretty complicated, but it would be the easiest path to the castle itself, seeing as there is no real danger.
Each pipe of a different color should
lead to a different area of a level, but all pipe colors would lead to the exit, but you know, a certain pipe color can be easier and quicker to take than another...Oh, and make a few message blocks made by Vidgmchtr for each area, giving hints on which route is best to take, without revealing too much info.

Enemies: Just a few swoopers, enemies should be the least of your problems in this level.

Music: Cave Drums

A few things you might want to know about how the game's laid out:

Levels are either horizontally-based or vertically-based.  It extends considerably in one direction, but only about 2 1/2 screens (I'm not sure) in the other.

Pipe colors depend on what, ah, "page" they're on.  Levels are divided into pages, each one being a screen in size.  (This is why pipe colors come in bunches.)

I'm not sure, but I THINK you can only have one level exit per page.

If any of this info is inaccurate, please let me know.

You know, NE89 BE CREATIVE! You have creative license with mine. Please have a lot of bottomless pits. sharp drop-offs and Koopas. Other than that, your on your own. Enjoy this one. I'm not going to make you make mine to my exact details, you have Creative license. All I ask is that there are NO RED PARATROOPAS. (Don't wanna aggrivate red) Lots of regular koopas, regular red koopas, And green Paratroopas. Thats all Holes, koopas, dropp-offs. THATS IT!!!! HAVE FUN!!!!! BE CREATIVE!!!!!!

Mario starts out falling down a HUGE drop, at least 7 screens.  Then, when Mario hits the ground, he enters a pipe which leads to the bottom of another huge 7-screen-high area.  To get up, he has to jump on the Koopas conveniently flying back and forth across the screen.  Once he gets to the top, he has to go into a pipe jutting out from the ceiling.  That pipe leads to the exit.

Poppile flats

Level "Format"
Normal type.

Terrain & Features
Big, big hills throughout the level, with some long and short flat areas inbetween.  Have one block about 1/4 of the way through that contains a feather, and about 2/3 of the way through, have there be a cloud up offscreen that you can fly up to, which has a large amount of coins spelling out some internet slang like: "OMG 1 R0x0rz!!!" or "U g0t pwn3d"

Enemies
In one of the short valleys, have a small verticle drop, just deep enough for Mario... er, Lizard Dude to duck a Banzai(sp?) Bill, and have it filled with ten of those flashing koopas that give Yoshi every power. Put a Lakitu at the end, and at the top of a hill, have a herd of goombas swarming about on the flat peak.

Thanks for the level ideas, everyone. I'll try to work as much as I can.

I don't have a specific release date set yet, because some days I work on the hack an awful long time, while the rest I work little or not at all.

Right now I'm making Red Paratroopa's and Koopaslaya's levels (RED PARATROOPAS!! and Koopaslaya's Cliff). When I at least finish Koopaslaya's, I may provide some screenshots.

Here's something I discovered- only 86 sprites are allowed in each area. If there are more than that, some sprites disappear, or the game could freeze up. Sprites include enemies, items, goals, and generators.

Level Name: NI64 Island (It can take the place of Soda Lake, since that's my favorite level)

Level Format/Obstacles: There are essentially three parts to the level: land, sea, and sky. You start on long strips of land with no real obstacles. There are areas where you can dive into the water, which is just a large maze that has many resurface areas, but many of them just lead to rooms with no meaning, forcing you to dive again until you find the right area to get back on land. Also on the land, there are springs that can be used to jump off the screen into a cloudy area with scrolling screens and lots of small platforms to jump on. Eventually, you'd have to go through all three places to get to the end.

Enemies: On land, there are tons of koopas and rexes to avoid. In the sky, there are flying koopas. And in the sea, there are no enemies, just the giant maze.

Here's something to add to the level guidelines:



Color Pallette: Sky

What color do you want the sky [background] to be? The editor comes with 8 different pre-set palletes: Peach, Pale Green, Blue, Black, Olive Green, Blue Gray, Pale Blue, and White. The editor also allows the user to select from an infinate number of colors for the sky. You can select any color you want to.
Better yet, to get the exact color you want, go into a paint program where you can create custom colors. Use the color field, and select the color, and write down the "ingredients" of Red, Blue, and Green that make up the color (i.e Red "37" + Green "267" + Blue "10"). Note: Does not apply to underground levels.

i had this dream when i first played SMW... there would be just 2 worlds,sky land,(yoshi's island) and boo's forest.(forest of illusion) i edited some graphics like the intro and i placed some stuff of smb3 to it,and with a little help of my friends it was done. and when i saw this topic i imagined:
holy cow what a great idea! i don't want to copy your ideas but i decided to make my project bigger,so, i ask what would the third world be named? sorry if i innerupted.

The sky for NI64 Island can be regular blue. Hey, I know it would be hard, but you know what would be cool? A level where you "travel back in time" through Mario games as you progress. For example, you start in a Super Mario World type level, then as you move along the graphics get less and less detailed and you soon realize that this section of the level looks just like SMB3! Then later, the hills and background begin to look different, and you're in SMB2. Then, as you near the end of the level, everything becomes very simple and you appear in SMB! Wouldn't that be cool?

Why? It's not giving away ROMs, which is the illegal thing, it's a hack. It's an add-on to the ROM, which you have to have first (and actually own the original cartridge). I own the original cartridge. The hack will be an .IPS file, which you have to patch on to the SMW ROM. Ever notice the site has a level editor page with at least 7 hacks? It has been there for years. Nothing bad happened.

Besides, Lonic, I thought you left months ago.

*Frowns* no me? How aobout naming the 79th level after me? PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've always wanted to make a game or at least a remake. You should try to name every little bad guy person after someone from Fungi Forum. You could also try to name the levels after places on TMK (i.e. Level 30 - Chatroom). Also, the items could have remakes in names, like renaming the fire flower something and the super mushroom. Maybe you could even add Daisy somehow.

As I have said, I'd like an ENTIRE WORLD and not just a level, mainly because I'm like that.

World name: Forest of Insanity (Again, Just use "F.O.I. [number] for the numbered levels)

Number of levels: 4-5 numbered levels, ghost house (maybe 2 if you have time?), fortress, castle.

World type: See Forest of Illusion, but with more confusing paths.

Level descriptions:

F.O.I. 1: Similar to F.O. Illusion 1, only harder? In this level, I'd like a message box introducing "my evil forest" signed with

~Insane Steve

F.O.I. 2: Underground maze-type level. Perhaps make a VERY well hidden path here lead to a switch palace?

F.O.I. 3: Psychotic aerial level.

F.O.I. 4: Ok, THIS one will be hard to describe. Underground level, using many rooms with pipes that lead to each. You must find the correct path through the pipes to reach the exit; otherwise you go backwards. Throughout the level there should be several message boxes which give hints to the correct path.

F.O.I. 5 if applicable: I'll come up with this if it is required.

Ghost house: ENDLESS MAZE OF DOORS. Need I say more?

Fortress: Make this one a single vertical room that scrolls upwards rather quickly. Think the last room of Morton's Castle, but more confusing, demanding more precision, and self-scrolling.

Castle: Like in the Forest of Illusion, the path to the castle should be the most stupid and difficult to find Idea EVER. I'll send my path idea to you in private. The castle level design is up to you.

Production's going to be a little slow this month, because of school. :( When I get out, production will speed up a bit.

Popple, your level is almost finished. I put more paragroombas and goombas in it because it originally had very little.
