Yes, it's exactly what the title reads: I have indeed beaten the current world record for collecting all 8 Red Coins in The Secret of Ricco Tower by 1.1 seconds! Unfortunately since I'm at college, I can't record a high quality video. I'll probably get to that during winter break.

Previous record:

Picture showing my record:

Video showing that it was really the Secret of Ricco Tower

I had to turn around and show you the place because my phone's camera stinks and blurs most of the text if I paused the game to show you the name. I'm very sorry that the video is of such a low quality. Anyway, the time can definitely be improved, and it likely will when I finally get around to making the video. I just wanted to let you guys know that I beat it.

Video Game Chat / Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode I
« on: November 12, 2010, 02:02:50 AM »
I don't have this game yet, but I want to know if anyone here has played it yet and your opinions on the game if you have indeed played it. First off, I'd like to say that I'm very happy that they finally allowed you to play Super Sonic in normal levels again. Second, I've heard that the physics for this game are much worse than the Genesis games. Sonic supposedly stops instantly when you don't hold the D-Pad in any direction, and I've also heard that the Homing Attack breaks the game. Furthermore, many have said that the game isn't worth the $15 you chip out for it, mainly due to its length.

So, what does everyone think? Is Sonic 4 a worthy investment?

Video Game Chat / Wii Internet Problem
« on: October 26, 2010, 01:54:29 PM »
Hey everyone! I found out a few days ago that my laptop can act as a wireless hotspot through a feature known as Intel MyWiFi. Since the college's wireless connection doesn't work well in my dorm room, my roommate and I decided to experiment with this feature. We got pretty far: the program stated that the Wii was connected; unfortunately, error message 52031 came up on the Wii, and I don't see what's wrong. I posted on the Nintendo Tech Support Forums, but only one person is replying, and he or she isn't reading all of my posts or helping much at all. I was told that a Manual Setup may work, but I can't enter a number under "Default Router" because I don't have access to the router and the "Default Gateway" is blank for me because I'm directly connected to the Internet.

Does anyone know what's wrong? Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone! I'm back with a new video, and this time, it's a video of Super Mario World. In this video, I complete the level, Way Cool, without using powerups or the ropes at the end of the level. Here it is:

Enjoy!

jdaster64 was the one who requested me to do this, so thank him!

Hey everyone! I know I haven't made any videos lately, but I recently found a new glitch in Super Mario Sunshine and used it to improve my previous Bianco Hills speedrun! I recommend watching the speedrun first and then the video demonstrating the glitch.

Speedrun:

Play Time: 48:78 (48 seconds, 78 hundredths of a second)

Enjoy!

I'm sorry to say, but these may be my last two videos :(. I have to leave for college in a couple of weeks, and I highly doubt I'll be able to record anything there.

He updates it fairly recently, and I find it pretty interesting.

Hey everyone! After a long time, I finally made another video. This one deals with that pinball machine everyone dislikes so much in Super Mario Sunshine. Instead of doing it the normal way, I do it backwards, which makes it a much bigger pain to complete than normal. Take a look and enjoy the video!

Mario Chat / The New Mario YouTube Video Requests/Challenges Thread
« on: May 07, 2010, 10:26:53 PM »
Hey everyone! Since my other topic is so old, I decided to create a new one. I'm pretty much available most of the time nowadays, so I might be making more videos than usual. Now to reiterate what I said in the original topic:

This is the thread to suggest/tell me any challenges or requests you'd like to see me make a video of. I'll consider every request or challenge put up on here, but I might not do some of them. Please don't suggest anything impossible (Beating the Flipside Pit of 100 Trials in under 10 minutes) or very long (Super Mario Sunshine 100% speedrun, beating the Pit of 100 Trials, collecting every coin in Super Mario Bros.). The requests must be strictly Mario-related and from a Mario game. Also, I don't have all the Mario games, so I won't be able to do some requests, sorry. In addition, please don't request too many challenges because I don't usually have too much time on my hands and I might take a while to complete only one request. You have my sincerest apologies for that.

This is the list of Mario games I won't take requests for:

Super Mario RPG: Legend Of The Seven Stars
Paper Mario
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Mario & Luigi: Partners In Time
Super Paper Mario
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

Game Help / Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story Fast Cash Ring
« on: April 25, 2010, 07:37:25 PM »
Hey everyone! I have a question about the Fast Cash Ring (awaits jokes). When exactly does it work? I've used it before during my runs to max out my coins and it worked great. However, I've stopped using it for a while and equipped it again, but it doesn't seem to work anymore. I tried equipping/unequipping various items, but I still didn't get any results. Can anyone help me out?

Hey everyone! As you've seen by a fairly recent topic in Mario Chat, I have been playing Mario Vs. Donkey Kong, since I had never played it before. After having obtained 100%, I'd have to say that I love the game a lot. I have been experimenting with some levels and thought "Why not make a video?" That's exactly what I did, and this video is the result. This video demonstrates a shortcut I have found that transforms level 5-6+, a normally annoying level, to an extremely easy one while getting the high score of 18,500 at the same time. Be aware that you must do the level almost exactly like I have to complete it in time. Without further ado, here's the video:

Mario Chat / Mario Vs. Donkey Kong
« on: March 19, 2010, 09:14:01 PM »
I know the game is old, but I've recently played it and thought it was great. Now, I've watched some gameplay videos of Mario Vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis, and it doesn't look like it lives up to its predecessor. What are your opinions on these two games? Is my first impression of Mario Vs. Donkey Kong 2 false, or is it true that the change in gameplay has made the series go on a downward slope?

Mario Chat / Super Mario World 3 (Unofficial)
« on: February 26, 2010, 06:49:04 PM »
Hey everyone! Do you all remember that project I was talking about? Well, this is it!

Super Mario World 3 is a hack of Super Mario World made by me, Kimimaru. I have worked on it very slowly over the past 4 years, experiencing delays in the process, and have finally completed it. The original goal of this hack was to see how well I can design levels off the top of my head, but later on I decided to design the levels in a similar manner to Nintendo's Super Mario World to create a hack that would make people feel like they're playing a game designed by Nintendo. There are still bugs in the game, but I plan on fixing them in a new version.

Unfortunately, there are no ExGFX or ASM installed in this hack, but there are plenty of challenges designed for intermediate-experienced players. If you're a beginner, I wouldn't recommend playing this.

Without further ado, you can find more information about it here and can download it here.

Note: I obtained permission to post this beforehand.

Mario Chat / Super Mario Sunshine - The Caged Shine Sprite in 13.6
« on: February 19, 2010, 01:07:19 PM »
Hey everyone! I know it has been a while since I made a new video, but I was busy in real life and was working a lot on Super Mario Bros. Online, my Mario online RPG (It's on Mario Chat if you want to check it out). Anyway, this video shows me completing The Caged Shine Sprite in Super Mario Sunshine in 13.6 seconds, about 1.3 seconds faster than the current world record (which was claimed by McTwisterDeluxe). I hope you all enjoy it!

Play Time: 13.6 (13 seconds, 60 hundredths of a second)

Mario Chat / Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story - Null Action Icon Glitch
« on: November 25, 2009, 09:26:08 PM »
Hey everyone! I haven't been on much lately because of college admissions, but I should be done with them soon. Anyway, I found a glitch in Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story that allows you to temporarily null the Body Slam Action Icon. The icon will display a "-" and won't work, but a simple switch of Action Icons will fix it.

How to do:

1. Find a place where you can fall and instantly change screens either with or without having to hold down a direction on the D-Pad, such as the area displayed in the picture. Note that you don't need to be in the Spike Ball form for this to work.
2. Switch to your non-default Action Icons (the Body Slam and the Spike Ball icons).
3. While falling, hold down the L button (also be sure to hold down the direction you need to hold to change screens, if you're in an area that requires you to do so).

4. Wait until you've changed screens and behold! The Action Icon will be labeled with a "-" and actually doesn't work!

Have fun walking around with a null Action Icon!

Here's a video of it in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eM6RaFwEarc&fmt=18

I know it's not a useful glitch, but it's pretty fun to play around with. I hope you all enjoy the video!

Random fun fact:

The original name for the Hot Drumstick was the Spicy Drumstick. There's evidence in page 32 of the Instruction Booklet. I guess it can also be interpreted as a mistranslation, but who knows?
