And the way you can't necessarily get a quick warp to Zora's Domain, particularly in the future half of the game where you can't swim through the portal at the lake (not that anyone likes swimming across the lake in the past half).

You can get to Zora's Domain in the very beginning of the game with just a sword :).

Putting that aside, if you want a quick way to Zora's Domain warp to the Graveyard and backwalk/sidehop there.

Mario Chat / Re: Wario was cooler when he gave me nightmares

But in the later games, yeah he's hunting for treasure, and he's only doing good to increase his own wealth, but the scenarios he was plopped into could have fit almost any character.  They felt a lot more generic.  They're still fine games for the most part, but that Wario personality seems to have slipped away a little bit.

I disagree with this. In Wario Land 4, Wario's only incentive to go to the pyramid is the possible treasure found in there. He didn't care about the risks involved; he just went.

I wouldn't say they're too similar, but Sonic Adventure 2 is one of my all-time favorite Sonic games. I'd say the first one is definitely worth the $5.

I'm pretty excited for this game and the Wii U.

I'm surprised people online are already bashing it when they haven't even played it. I saw several articles that detailed the experience playing the Wii U, and most of the authors said it was very enjoyable.

The funny thing is Nintendo is the only one doing any innovation nowadays. They're not afraid to take risks like other companies, and when they succeed all the other companies steal their ideas, claim them as their own, and say it's innovation. Look at the Move and Kinect...

On top of that there's this unnecessary argument about Nintendo not delivering "core" games to its audience. Mario, Zelda and the like are most definitely under the "hardcore" classification of games; they've been around much longer than any generic FPS (Call of Duty) and have tons and tons more depth in them. People also expect online play, but online communities are mostly flooded with spammers, hackers, and immature six-year olds cursing. These are some reasons I don't like this generation of gamers...

I use the babies in the Barrel Train. It's arguably one of the fastest character/kart combos in the game.

Happy 15th anniversary, Super Mario 64!

I always come back to games like this one every now and then and try to find easier ways to complete each level. I don't remember when I got my Nintendo 64, but I remember my dad just bringing it home randomly one day with Super Mario 64. I can still remember that day as if it happened yesterday.

I think Mario Kart should just stay Mario Kart, meaning no characters from any other Nintendo universe. In any case, I'm pretty excited for this game.

Since my parents have completely redid our basement I'm unable to play any of my console games for a while, but I've been finishing up Pokemon White. It's my favorite installment in the series so far.

Wii U isn't a bad name either. My only complaint: what does the U stand for?

In the press conference I recall Reggie saying that it's suited for your specific needs, meaning you can play it in a variety of styles. Use all buttons if you want, or use none; use both buttons and touch screen controls if you want. That's something I really like about this console; it really gives the player control on how they want to play the game. On top of that, it has the potential to give unique play experiences that no other console is capable of giving.

pulling some SMG2 "what first game?" nonsense.

This isn't new; basically all Mario games do this.

A port of the original, or something new? Well, as new as it could be.

They confirmed that it's going to be a new game.

I think ill of day 1 DLC also

DLC should be about adding stuff, not removing the cheese from the cheeseburger

Edit: I guess cheeseburgers do cost more than hamburgers so the analogy is awful, but that doesn't mean video games aren't overpriced as hell anyhow

How are video games overpriced? Do you realize what people have to go through to make them? I certainly wouldn't want to spend years of my life working on something just to sell it for $10.

One of the overpowered parts of the Cape was that it was so hard to lose.

I honestly think they should've launched it with a game from one of their popular franchises, or any popular franchise for the matter. Even a new Castlevania or Ninja Gaiden would've tempted me to get it on launch. They should've just pushed the launch back and released it with Ocarina of Time 3D.
