Title: AM2R
Post by: Turtlekid1 on September 09, 2009, 11:12:53 AM
A promising-looking remake of Metroid II. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbsH5rGqL7o&feature=related)

Is anyone else following this?

What I find most impressive is that some guy is doing the whole thing on Game Maker.

That's not as awesome as this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6KMAm_228s).

I'm pretty tired of hearing about that Mega Man thing.

Anyway, this does look pretty cool, I guess. I'm not swept off my feet mainly because it's still Metroid 2, and all the graphics are taken straight from Zero Mission with no significant original content that I could see.

Still pretty cool, though.

This thread is now about Mega Man 2.5

Ignoring the fact that it's Mega Man (which I don't really care about), that looks pretty cool.

Ignoring the fact that everyone's known about it since forever and it's honestly not that impressive, as well, it does look pretty cool.

I like Mega Man. He's awesome. But I'm honestly not too interested in Mega Man 2.5.

That is unless you can play as boss characters.

WTD?  Is this official?  Even if it's not, AWESOME!

Normally I'd be upset for a thread being derailed on the first reply, but this is the first time I've heard of this awesome game.  Sorry, back to thread topic...

As far as I know, it's completely unofficial. Capcom (or any big developer) would never release something that awesome.

Back on topic:

I've never played the original Metroid 2, but this looks great!

I don't think we're on the same page here.

I've never played the original Metroid 2, but this looks great!
Return of Samus is easily the most underrated title in the series.  It introduced so many series firsts: the iconic look of the Varia Suit, the Plasma Beam, the Space Jump... it also featured the Spider Ball, one of the most awesome power ups to ever grace the franchise.  Not the watered-down version featured in the Prime series, mind you, the one that could stick to any wall, limited only by wall-crawling enemies and spikes.  Also, the Metroid evolutions are awesome.

I actually just played it yesterday. In all honesty, I don't think they should've put it on the Game Boy; the small screen ruined the entire game for me.

That's one of the most suspicious-looking links I've ever seen.
