The mushroom wandered off a floating platform from off-screen. Or...um...layer.
I'm more concerned about the Cheep Cheep that doesn't seem to have pectoral fins. Unless that thing that I'm assuming is the white of the belly is, in fact, the fin in a funny position.

That is most definitely a poison shroom. Super/Magic shrooms have white dots. Poison shrooms have black dots.
