Waluigi will be appearing in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as an assist trophy, clad in his traditional outfit and carrying a tennis racket.  The Smash Bros. Dojo site's 12/14/07 update revealed Waluigi (as well as Stafy, that loveable starfish from under the sea) in all his purple glory.

At this point, I'm starting to wonder how many Nintendo franchises won't be in Brawl.

Here's a preliminary list, culled from The Nintendo Database.  I trimmed out any games that already seem to have character/music/item/whatever references in Brawl... how many do you think we'll eliminate by the time the game launches?

Stuff in bold represent games that had trophies/music/items in Melee.

(I'm making no guarantees this list is currently complete, nor up to date; however, it generally seems to be accurate.)

Best Assist Trophies yet! As for more Nintendo series being included... who knows? These two were inevitable, anyway, though.

At least Waluigi wont be playable.  If they put anymore data into Brawl's CD they'll either have to make a second CD or it will explode.
Let's burn some stuff and call it science.

Chibi-Robo, probably not, because it being Wal-Mart exclusive.

Radar Scope, definetly not. The only thing that game was good for was fodder for the Donkey Kong machines

Yesterday's update (Mario Circuit) and today's update (Waluigi and Starfy AT's) seem to confirm a little theory that I've had regarding playable characters..

When the Mario Kart stage was first show in video form (the first Brawl video, months ago) all of the racers were Shyguys. I'm going to assume, now that we've had a real update about the MK stage, that all characters from past MK games are either going to be playable, be AT's, or be non-playable NPC's.

These past two updates seem to confirm my theory: we've already got most of the cast of the first two MK games playable (Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, DK, Wario) Toad and DKjr haven't been in SSB yet, but both were trophies in Melee.

Petey Pirahna and ROB the Robot both have been confirmed as NPC's (Petey was in MKDD and ROB was a secret character in MKDS).

Waluigi being an AT seems to wrap things up nicely.

This makes me think how everybody else from the MK games (MKDD and MKDS in particular) are going to be in.. If Toad were playable, they could give him a Toadette costume, just like Peach has a Daisy costume.

EDIT: I forgot that Petey was a hidden character. Whoopsie!

It was only Wal-Mart exclusive in the US.  SSBB is not being developed in the US.

I'm neutral about Waluigi being an AT.  I kinda wanted him playable, but at the same time I didn't want him playable.

Hmm, there's no Sin and Punishment on this list, although it's a Nintendo game and its main character Saki is already an assist trophy. Also, there's still Metal Gear Solid and the Sonic series that could have assist trophies (Well, Metal Gear Solid already has an assist trophy, The Grey Fox, but Sonic doesn't).

Meh, I don't feel too bad about it. At first, I was disappointed, but there are so many more characters I can play as. The fact that they put Sonic and Wario in it had distracted me from the fact that he's only an assist trophy. Still, it would have been nice to have him as a playable character.

I still wonder if Luigi will be playable or not. I have no doubt he'll be involved in some way, but if he's an AT or a playable character has yet to be answered. It would seem rather stupid to include Mario, Wario and Waluigi without Luigi.

Luigi is much too important a Nintendo character to be dropped. He's only always hidden because no two clones are ever both starters.

I think to make Luigi less of a clone they should give him his spin move from SMG.

« Reply #18 on: December 14, 2007, 07:20:41 PM »
But that move would be no different than his Luigi Cyclone attack.

I don't even get why people want to see luigi with a completely original moveset. He's always been a slightly different version of Mario. He started life as a palette swapped player 2 and so far he hasn't made any major difference between himself and Mario.
As a game that requires six friends, an HDTV, and skill, I can see why the majority of TMK is going to hate on it hard.

I think there'll be Luigi, but not as a clone. Maybe make him represent SMG, with a bunch of different moves like shooting star bits, spinning, and maybe some moves based on SMG's unique power-ups? That'd be coool.

As a pooper, I'm tired about how Mama Luigi and CD-i are always being associated with YouTube Poop, while they fail to mention sources, like Dr. Robotnik, that haven't been completely done to death.

There is no point to poops.  By basic definition, they are just confused remixes of certain media created to confuse/tick off a targeted audience, while the maker of said remix laughs at the audience's confusion and/or anger.

I was getting my daily fix of Team Fortress 2 YouTube videos the other day.

I was looking for all the "Meet the Team" videos, interviews with each character class from the game. I can only find about 5 of the 9 characters.

One of the "related videos" was entitled "Meet the Poop". It did not occur to me until after I clicked the video that it would be a YouTube Poop.

I personally thought that YouTube Poop was Kojinka's own little creation with maybe some of her friends as an inside joke. But I guess YouTube Poop is actually kind of a big thing. I had seen one YouTube Poop previous to this Team Fortress 2 one, and I got bored in < 2 minutes.

So I reluctantly watched the Team Fortress 2 YouTube Poop, since I was out of fresh TF2 videos, besides your generic gameplay videos.

I actually thought it was pretty funny, since I relate to the topic (Even though I don't have the game yet, I've seen enough videos to know the game pretty well). The first two seconds is what grabbed me.

Here are the links. Watch one of the original videos first to understand what's going on, then watch the YouTube Poop.

If this video doesn't make you want to play this game immediately, you're insane. (Ignore/close the ad at the bottom of the video)

Less YTP more Assist Trophies!  Besides, I myself only care about certain kinds of poops, and it Doesn't include Mama Luigi or CD-i.

On topic, it would have been nice seeing Waluigi playable, but concidering he's never starred in his own game, I figured his odds wouldn't be very good.  I'm just glad he is getting some sort of recognition.

You're giving yourself a pretty large tolerance there.
Remember that your first Goomba boldly you walk? When Mario touched that mushroom being brought up more largely remember that you are surprised? Miscalculate your jump that pit remember that it falls?
