Here are the rules. Each day you give one character a boot and one a vote. Each character starts out with 5 points. When the character reaches 0 they are eliminated. A boot removes one vote and a vote and one vote :P

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I don't think this system will work. If you add a vote to somebody and remove one from somebody else every time, the total number of points will always stay the same. And since I see 26 characters with 5 points each, one character would need to get all 130 to win, and I doubt any one character has that much overwhelming support at this board.
Most elimimation rounds work because the number of points continuously goes down until only one person has any left, but this would take a god-awful long time, if at all, for anyone to win.

The same person can have more than one vote so long as they limit their vote to once a day, right? I think that's how they do it in other places.

I agree with CashCrazed. It is POSSIBLE that everybody but 1 character could be eliminated eventually, but it is also possible that the votes could cycle endlessly back and forth. Might I suggest an alternate system henceforth, whereby a vote in favor gets a character +1 point and a vote against gets a character -2 points? Regardless:

Who to vote for... I like Yoshi, but I like Paratroopa even more (because I flipped out at the omission of Koopa Troopa from Mario Kart 64, so I was happy to see one of his cousins in Mario Tennis 64. Not only that, but Paratroopa had great slip-slidy control. Sure there was almost no power behind his shots, but then, neither did my other favorite, Yoshi). So, Koopa Troopa or Paratroopa? Well, I do like the way "Paratroopa" sounds, and he can fly, but... Koopa Troopa is who I liked originally. Oh, and he had that great trophy in Smash Bros. Melee with that great pose... Koopa Troopa it is!

First of all, it is not true that I hate Luigi. I only booted him two times, and not because I have anything against him; I don't. I was just annoyed by your anti-Mario, "Luigi Rules!" attitude, and I thought that if Mario was eliminated, Luigi might as well be eliminated too so they would be more equal. I like Luigi, but I like Mario too, and I don't like it when people openly and aggressively prefer one to the other. Voting against a character doesn't have to mean you dislike the character in reality; it is just that you want the character out of the game, for one reason or another.
And why do you hate Wario so much? He is a bad guy, I'll concede, but he is a comical bad guy, and he's not nearly as bad as a lot of other video game bad guys. I like Wario games a lot, and so I vote for Wario.

The fact is, Wario is at the top and I don't feel compelled to let him win without voting against him. Yoshi is a lizard, and lizards are cool, therefore, Yoshi is cool. Okay, here's my idea. Don't know if you guys will like it, but...
I was thinking that for each turn, a person could vote for TWO characters and also boot two. Voting would still be +1 and booting would still be -2. If someone doesn't want to vote for two different characters (or boot two different ones), they would only be able to vote for (or boot) one on that turn. This wouldn't change the action of the game much - it would just go faster - but it would make an interesting twist.
I haven't decided yet what characters to use in this one, but some are going to be from Super Mario Sunshine and Paper Mario 2.

Your votes and boots on one turn would not affect those on another turn. You are not restricted as to what characters you can vote for on each turn. Let me try again to explain the setup. Here is an example of what a normal turn would be like:
Vote: Mario, Luigi
Boot: Lemmy Koopa, Gooper Blooper
But if you only wanted to vote for, say, Mario, and NO ONE ELSE, you would do this:
Vote: Mario
Boot: Lemmy Koopa, Gooper Blooper
Similarly, if you only wanted to boot Gooper Blooper, and no one else, you would do this:
Vote: Mario, Luigi
Boot: Gooper Blooper
You probably would only want to vote for or boot just one character at a time WHEN THE END OF THE ROUND IS NEAR.
The following might be a better general statement of the rules.
YOU CAN VOTE FOR 2 CHARACTERS AND BOOT 2 CHARACTERS IN 1 TURN, BUT YOU CANNOT VOTE FOR THE SAME CHARACTER TWICE IN ONE TURN, OR BOOT THE SAME CHARACTER TWICE IN ONE TURN.
In other words, you can't do this:
Vote: Mario, Mario
Boot: Lemmy Koopa, Gooper Blooper
And you cannot do this:
Vote: Mario, Luigi
Boot: Gooper Blooper, Gooper Blooper

Sorry I was not around for the past few days.
I was just going to make them start out with 5 points each, like you did, gamemaster79. Yes, I'll try to put a large variety of characters in it. Putting Koopa the Quick in is a good idea; I just got SM64 (the N64 version), and it is a COOL game!
I'll try to get this started in the next few days; I need to prepare for it first.

1. Super Mario 64 DS is a huge improvement on SM64, but using the joypad sucks!

As for Chief Chilly and Goomboss, I don't know who they are, but that's because I'm not finished playing through SM64 for the first time yet; I just got it two days ago. So you don't have to tell me about those two.

MAJOR SPOILERS
P.S: Goomboss does not appear in the original SM64. Chief Chilly does, but he does not have the same name.
SMRPG characters: I don't have it either. In fact, I've never played it! However, on the main site, try checking the Mariopedia and SMRPG info page.
SML: Tatanga is the main boss. He overtook Sarasaland, and kidnapped Princess Daisy.
Chief Chilly: Boss in SM64DS. He kidnapped Wario because Wario's mustache looks better than his. He is a giant ice Bully- he appeared in SM64, but smaller. He was eventually defeated by the Mario Bros.
Goomboss: A giant Goomba. I think he is the Goomba King, but different. He kidnapped Mario because Mario jumped on his bretheren. He was defeated in a dark forest by Yoshi.

Thanks for the info. I've played most of SM64 now, and I've gotten 100 stars (and this is my fifth day playing it).
Let's say that I'll have the new elimination round ready on Tuesday evening at the latest. (I know it sounds like a long time, but I might be getting Yoshi's Story this weekend.)

wouldn't the winner of this round have 130 points if there is one boot and one vote per each? Or is it possible that you are allowed to just boot somebody and not vote for anyone? I dosen't really make sense that everyone got eliminated and started with 5 points and Luigi won with only 22 points. May I have a possible explaination here?

Just say that there's a three-player Elim. Round, featuring Wario, Waluigi and Boshi. Now, if they started off with 5 points, they'd need 15 points to win, right? Wrong!! OK, here's an example-

I thought that each boot counted as one in this round. It was just kind of confusing when I read the rules.
