Title: Dearly missed members.
Post by: Mr. Wiggles on October 30, 2005, 07:19:58 PM
As time passes here on the Fungi Forums, Members come and go. Some stay since their account was registered, some dissappear without a trace. My questio to you guys is, what FF member currently gone or inactive do you miss?

For me, I'd say Lonic the Elfinhog. He was pretty cool, always having an opinion on something. He was probably one of the most active TMK member back in the day. He seemed to have just suddenly dissappeared though without even a goodbye. I miss him so.

Who do you miss?

I might have accually wanted to have Super_Mario_World_Uncut, but in his first 18 posts, he was a pain.

I have been reading this board for a long time. I just wonder, where did the people who made the long-topics go off to? I'm talking about Dr. Mario, the one that created Fake Super Mario Cheats, and (I think) Ask a Stupid Question Get A Stupid Answer. the person that did Mario Bar. Just where the fried eggs did they go off to?

I''''m not always who I am but I am what I say I am!

They just disappeared for some reason. Dr. Mario was once a mod for the Story Boards and the creator of the infamous Anti-Pokemon Story that spawned off many unrelated spin-offs.

Dr. Mario was a nice member.  So was Dairy King.  I can't believe he left just because we were all so rude to him...  Wasn't there another reason?  Sadib100 and Jon used to be okay sometimes... Sure, they were banned because they did stupid things, but I can remember times when they were kinda cool.  And Luigi~lover, if she ever left, was very nice.

I miss Latias Dita. She always was interested in PM and she always liked Mario like me. I do know that she can't post much because she's in college now but I still wish that she could come visit in a while.

Ok, now that is funny. I remember that topic, "Lizard Dude R.I.P" That what it was actually called. Oh, people were so gulible. Oh, and I remember, two years ago, some completly random user named dr.mario64 created VERY stupid topics. All short-lived. I remember he left immediatly. I knew him in real life, actually. His real name was David something-something.Oh well. Who else? Oh yes, latias dias, or whatever her name was a very nice user.

Orginized is my middle name.

Stupid Monkey was one of Sadib's other usernames. Whenever he got banned, he would get a new account and start up again. Sometimes he even started a topic with his new username to say he was Marioguy.

I have no idea what Lonic did to get banned. I just know that in an old topic called "Important New Rules" or something, Sapphira was keeping an account of people affected by the strike system that was in use back then. "B&" was written next to Lonic's name. Also, I once visited (but didn't join because I couldn't stand a lot of the people there) a Yoshi message board called TYFN, which jon and other former TMK members are or were on. Lonic is there, and he said in one post that he was banned from TMK.

Lonic was banned with good reason, I'll tell you that.

...Anyway, whenever this topic comes up, the first names that come to me are penguinwizard and Roy Koopa.  Penguinwizard has always stood out as a unique character in my mind, through his interests and the intelligent manner of his posts, among other things.  And Roy Koopa had a lot of great insight on the Mario universe, as well as being the author of some really awesome fanfics.

Both of them have, since "leaving", come back briefly and posted a couple of times.

How would Martini dr. luigi and mr luigi be all the same person if you can only have one account per e-mail?

Why would Martini be someone else if he didn't get banned yet? I mean it would be stupid to be as 2 different people at the same time. Oh, and did you know mr.luigi and dr.luigi are chaotic,I read it in one of his topics.

Popular topics don't make you a respected poster. Neither do making a lot of posts or threads. If you click the reply button and have to think about what you are going to type, then chances are you are forcing yourself to post and don't have anything to say, if this is the case, don't post anything. Only post topics when you think of a really good idea. Don't make 20 of them hoping 2 of them will be good. And that goes back to my first sentence.

Remember "Top ten reasons the DS beats the PSP and he said "DS=Dominant System, PSP=Piece'a Stupid Poo." Nothing to do with the 80's. Then the annoying crap just got perpetually spewed out of his annoying crap-spewing idiocy.

When I first joined, I thought "Eh, I bet not very many people get banned. Not hard to obey the rules." I guess I'm Some-times wrong!

Corrupted:
PassthaJointDude & thatman: posting porn.
Yoshi55: basically asking peoples opinions and then saying that they were wrong
Game Over: Saying very insulting things (I don't believe your Jesus fairy tale, Sapph doesn't deserve to be an admin for being abusive), and here's a copy-paste from one'a my posts:

Man, get off my back. Don't even try to tell me that crap. All you guys ever do is tell me I'm offensive for having my own opinion and then say that a statement that wouldn't offend a first grader is offensive. Where do you get off huh?
You can have your own opinions and state them, but you don't have to say that Christianity is a crappy fairy tale. Insane Steve stated the same things in you, but in a tolerable tone. It wouldn't offend an atheist first grader. But think about it; even a Christian first grader wouldn't be as offended because they are young and likely don't catch up on everything and actually care until they're about 11 or 12. And you aren't in a good position to ask where people get off.

Poop Dude, you're a strange person but you aren't going to get banned.

I miss Yoshi55.

You miss the constant "Daisy drove off a bridge in a 1977 Rolls-Royce" and "Mario's Time Machine for the NES" and "I hate Sonic because of stuff that hapened 20 years ago" and "Poll: NES or SNES (later) STOP VOTING SNES! I can't stand 16-bit" and "R.O.B.'s incedible greatness comes and destroys them all" and "Will you be the one to experience the incredible NES?"

But, I'm not going to act like him and say "Your opinion is stupid." I'm going to state my opinion quietly: TMK's a more peacful place without him.

^ There.

On another forum I go to, people were impersonating long-time members, members that had left, and mods. I'm still kinda new there, but apparently it was horrible. I'm not sure if it's the same with this Luigison-impersonator, but on this forum, people were copying locations, avatars, signatures, ages, and pretty much everything.

BTW, when I meant 'everywhere', I meant other forums, like the one I said.

Seriously, those people are in desperate need of lives. It's really sad that they don't have the brainpower to come up with an original name, let alone rip off a mod.

You know, I'm starting to think that that "Why is every one getting banned?" thread that I locked and scoffed at recently is becoming more and more accurate...

I honestly have no clue what happened, and I can't find it, either. Last posts turn up no transgressions except posting a new thread about something that already had a thread, and if we're banning people over that, then we need to ban about half the forum.

Post by: Insane Steve on January 22, 2006, 10:02:12 PM
Mr. Melee has made fewer than one page of posts today. None of which appear all that spammish or "++" ish* at all.

I am almost always excluded from Mod+ discussions here. I'm not sure if Suffix/Fifth/Luigison also fall into this category. Maybe it's just due to my laptop not loading Java chat panes and my refusal to download mIRC. I don't know. I've been feeling excluded a lot (in real life) recently, so that may have something to do with this insight, also. No, I'm not going emo, and let's try not to turn this into a psychiatrist thread (that is, just drop this topic).

Also, if Mr. Melee was actually banning for psuedo-post spamming... I think I'll stop posting on this thread, lest I get banned, also.

* "++" is a way of denoting a post made solely to raise post count, if that purpose is cognatively realised by its author.

While I don't know what specifically happened, I do know that he is, in fact, banned, and the reason listed is "Disregard for rules and guidelines." Other than that, I know nothing more, and the other mods/admins are either wondering what happened as well, or they haven't said anything.

I trust the Mods'  judgement, so whoever it was that did ban him probably had reason to do so; so you all should just leave it at that instead of causing all this hubbub. He didn't really ever post anything worth reading anyway, I don't miss him.

Post by: Insane Steve on January 22, 2006, 11:43:21 PM
See, what bothers me is the exhorbitantly vague written reason for the ban.

I'd assume that every person ever banned this forum was banned due to "disregard for rules and guidelines."

Way I see it, if a G-Mod/Admin has a bone to pick with a member, they can merely ban for personal reasons and claim it to be a "disregard for rules and guidelines." I see no such disregard in any of Mr. Melee's posts. While they might not have been the most eloquent posts, they don't seem to break any rules. At all.

So I take it banning for no reason and claiming it to be a "disregard for rules and guidelines" is kosher, now? Show me any specfic instance of a post by Mr. Melee that violates a rule on the forums and I will retract this comment. I certainly don't see it.

As for you, TEM, I think your post may spark hubbub instead of discouraging it. What you basically do is insult the regular members' intelligence by rebuking them for questioning the mods' reasoning for something. I can't exactly fault you for not liking someone; I certainly feel that way about certain people, as well. But I don't think you can say that the mods' judgement is, by default, obviously better than anyone else's, Having been an admin of a large forum several years ago, I can look back and say that my judgement hasn't always been spot-on.

In conclusion, I'm slightly unnerved. For several reasons.

EDIT: Whoops. My bad.

Quote from: Deezer
Do not question or complain about moderators' actions.

Found this on the rules and guidelines thread. I can't say I agree with this, but that'd be questioning the higher-ups' judgement. Can't be doing that, a-nope.

(If this post seems frustrated, that's because it is. It is also somewhat tired. It's late.)

EDIT THE SECOND: From what I read on another thread, the reason for the ban was, most likely, asking for a custom title (which, to me, seems a bit of a trifling reason for a ban, a sort of "I don't like you so I'll overblow a minor transgression" -- which I hope [and assume] isn't the case.) or, more likely [I hope], posting private type messages on a public thread with little to do on that thread. Which, again, seems a bit trifling, but is a lot more severe than merely asking for a custom title.
Title: Re: Dearly missed members.

That's exactly what I think, Steve. His last post was just a topic that was already made. That's happened thousands of times, and not even particularly with him.

Weird, but I only want one that isn't for being bad/doing something annoying!
Which is entirely true.

If the posters are unhappy with the rules and guidelines that the Mods have set regarding "Moderator discretion" they can very easily leave and post in a "friendlier" forum. There can't be a violation of human rights in this place because there aren't any humans around, just the messages they sent to the board with their computers. You are debating with points that would have weight in the real world, but we aren't there, man.

Steve is saying that your only reason for thinking he should be banned, is because you think mods and admins are always right.

I wish an admin would say the whole story and end this conversation. Sapph, I.S., and mabey even LD doesn't know yet, which seems a little strange.

If Sapph, I.S., LD, Suffix, Luigison and Fifth don't know what exactly is going on, then I agree with Khold. Deezer or Chup should clear things up for us, because I sure would like to know why Mr.Melee is "muted." If they don't know, I don't know who does, because I'm still fairly new and don't know all of the active mods/admins. Someone has banned Mr.Melee, that's for sure, and maybe all of this discussion would stop (and possibly prevent some future banning?) if someone brought us out of the dark. Just a suggestion.

Title: Re: Dearly missed members.
Post by: bobman37 on January 23, 2006, 04:57:08 PM
Not exactly. Regarding your post, Khold: If someone does something severe enough to be banned, he or she should at least be informed why. Maybe the other members don't have to know, if it's personal-- but we should at least be allowed to know that it's personal and it's none of our business. About the mods/admins being always right, no human is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. Mods/admins are only human. Therefore, mods/admins may make mistakes. But, by my understanding of the definition of the word "Mod" or "Admin," one must have very good judgement to hold such a title. Thus, mods/admins make correct desicions too. I'm not judging the performance of the current mods and admins at all, just stating they have their reasons, good or not.

EDIT: Oh. Um, sorry. I didn't see the quote Khold included in her post. But I still stand by what I wrote.

Wrong, to have the title of Mod or Admin, all you have to do is have a forum on your website.

And to no one in particular: please read my argument carefully before you counter point it. Heck, you should do that with all arguments.

If that was true, then a bunch of people on these forums would be a mod/admin. ledzeppelinrocks, Bigluigifan1.0, Luigi Simpson, me, etc. would all be a mod/admin.

Nothing is said about a FF Mod, just being a Mod in general.

Upon re-reading my previous post on this thread, I think I went about arguing the point too... vitriolically. It was late, I was tired, and I was also a bit irked from prior events that day.

I think TEM is arguing that the mods on this forum are quite well-chosen, so there shouldn't be a reason to question them. That is, if I am reading this right. I am simply trying to say that even the best-chosen personel can make a dubious decision about something in general. (When I cited myself as an admin, I don't mean of a board I owned; I meant a 10,000+ member board with multiple admins. I was saying that, looking back at the job I did there, some of my decisions were a bit rash. 'S'all.) Generally speaking, larger forums tend to have better staff than smaller one, although I've witnessed many exceptions to both sides of this rule. I'd consider the TMK staff above average for its size.

That said, I still think that you need a slightly more specific reason to ban/mute someone than the incredibly generic "Disregard for rules and guidelines." There probably IS a better reason, but next time, it may be helpful be a bit more specific in your ban logs in case something like this happens again. WHich I hope it doesn't.

Hey guys.  I just thought I would let you know that I'm going to leave now and might not come back for awhile.  I have some important things to do and need to make some big decisions and changes in my life.  Even if I don't become a dearly missed member, I sure will miss all of you and all the fun memories (dearly even!).  But if I don't return for a long time there's a chance I'll come back and have a huge surprise for everyone, so that's something to think about.  If I had the time I would say a lot more to everyone before I left but I should return back to my college work.  See ya and thanks!

Don't expect me to be myself for a while... I really miss him, and I don't know what I'll do. I also have to try to get my mind off it too.

Has any body else's close friend, uncle, parent, etc. passed away? I would like to know how you deal with it- I just can't handle it right now.

I have! It's nice to know some people go throught the same things I do, my advice may not come too handy, but at least try to act like you normaly do, just sort of grin and bear it. I'm thinking doing fun stuff can cure it, just spend some time with the friends you have now, and play some games and stuff to help cure the pain. I really hope that helped.

I think it was a cruel joke or something. Or mabey the same think happened as with Jin.

Why was Jin banned? If it's about him beeing Troy I need to explain that.
Troy is really a 9 year old boy who lives down the street, and he was posting up dirty words and got banned.
He told me his password was his last name in front of me and Jin so we wanted to see if it was true. So we went to Jins house
and tried logging in and it said, "sorry Jin you have been banned too many ****s" That is why their IP addresses match. If it's not that
sorry for wasting our time. Also if it isn't that, tell me why.

Sad to see you leave, YSR. You'll be missed.

Aww... I'm really sorry, Khold. That's got to be so hard. While I don't know how much help I can be, I can and will at least pray for you and your friend's family. I've never had someone really close to me die, but I can only imagine how terribly difficult it would be.

Um, no offense, BLF, but I don't think your advice is a very good idea. This is a really tough time for Khold, as it would be to anyone else in this situation.
My best advice is that after the initial shock, you give yourself time to mourn. In extremely hard times, giving yourself time to grieve allows you to release the pain, so that, in time, you'll be able to heal. Holding in the pain and trying to "move on" too fast only stifles it, and it will remain bottled up, and you'll possibly never be able to function the same. While it may take a really long time to heal, and/or you may never heal completely, it will definitely help. Don't be afraid to cry or talk about it if you need to. Try to function as best you can at school and other tasks in your life, but don't try to suppress your pain, though; give yourself time so you can release the pain somehow. I also suggest prayer (religious or non-religious, if one's in a time of crisis, try it and see what it does) and surrounding yourself with people who can help and comfort you through this time.

I don't know how good my advice is, but I've found that to be effective when I've gone through tough times. I hope this will help, and, as I said, I'll be praying for you.

And wow, this has sure gone off topic with those kitties, guys.

Also, I'm not coming here often anymore. I have problems with my lungs. Some Flem (Phlegm) is sticking to my lungs and I can't breathe that well. The flem comes out easily, but I have to wake up every 5 minutes when I sellp to spit it out. It hurts when I spit. It feels like I have asthma. Well at least I went to the doctor and he said that it will heal in less than a week.

Please have the patience and read the thing below.

Do you really know who I miss?

white_arrow

Not just as a member, but in person. I was his friend since kindergarten and we were friends until 6th grade. He had to leave to another school. I've never seen him since. I E-Mailed him a couple of times because I asked what he was doing and asked if he still had the Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories game I let him borrow. However, I'm sure his bro got the E-Mail and he said he didn't know me. I just stopped trying. I still know where he lives but I'm not sure if I could go there or not. He lives like 20 blocks away, It's not too far. He lives near my school. The worst thing is that I'm going to be forced to move to Florida and that's a lot worse. It's really stressing when you lose a friend. I know because Khold has gone through this. He wasn't just any friend. He was a funny person. He was always funny, made fun of, and his name was hilarious. (I don't want to say it or risk embarrassing him.) He liked Mario and Sonic, Zelda as well, and many other games. Heck, he used to have a Sega Genesis with Sonic the Hedgehog 1-3 with it. However, he lost it. So for the last day of school, before he went to a new school, I gave him my copy of Sonic Mega Collection. He really loved the Genesis games and you can guess how much of a miracle this was to him. I also went to his house and I let him copy my data for SSBm so he had everything. (Although Mario is always 1st when you view longest time, KOs, and other stuff like that.)

So I've given him some of my games. Many of which I loved and wanted back. Sonic Mega Collection, Kingdom Hearts for the GBA, and my data for SSBM.

I also gave him several of my old Nintendo Power Magazines. We had a lot of fun together. It was just sad that he had to go to another school. He actually said this. "I wish I could bring the whole school to my school." He also had a unique family. I haven't seen him in a whole year.

Hmm. If I were you, I'd go over to his place and tell him to get his own email and check it, to keep in touch with you. And fast, you'll regret it if you don't. Well, I haven't moved away in my whole life, but that's what I'd do...

Now look at the E-Mail address for him and the one for me.

But, why wouldn't you just go over to his house? I would try anything to see my friend one more time. I remember that one of his topics was "the billy and mandy club". It sounded like he was going to be banned or something. Since it was before the forum migration, if somebody was banned, there was no way of knowing how.

Who knows? He could've just changed email addresses. You said he was going to move, but how did you even know if you haven't seen him? You could also talk to your counselor about student information. They usually keep all of the records after a student changes schools. There is always a way to find a lost friend. If you were friends, then you would also have his phone number, right?

He told me his password was his last name in front of me and Jin so we wanted to see if it was true. So we went to Jins house
and tried logging in and it said, "sorry Jin you have been banned too many ****s" That is why their IP addresses match. If it's not that
sorry for wasting our time. Also if it isn't that, tell me why.

May I ask again?

He isn't banned; It was a technical mistake. He had the same IP address as another member's bad deed. He was unbanned, but he just doesn't come around anymore.

Has any body else's close friend, uncle, parent, etc. passed away? I would like to know how you deal with it- I just can't handle it right now.

This sounds very late, but...

Just a couple of weeks ago, an art teacher I had in 7th grade died at the age of 29 in late March.

http://www.newsday.com/news/local/longisland/ny-liteac244673540mar24,0,2674386.story?track=mostemailedlink

His name was Ryan Zinna. The year I had him wasn't a great one, because this was the same school year as the 9/11 attacks, and pretty much everyone in all my classes hated me for stupid reasons, so I was in sort of a depression.

The Semester I had Mr. Zinna (actually, it was a quarter, I had home ec. the first one, and art the second) he seemed like a very nice guy, and he was. He came into the classroom with a smile on his face every day. He always had conversations with me and a friend of mine while we were working on our art projects.

Him: Gamecube? I've seen the commercials for it. Are you getting it?
Me: Yeah, definitely.

He made me very happy at the times I felt sad.

The day he died, I was not aware of it until I saw a friend's away message that said "RIP Mr. Zinna :(". I IMed him to see what was going on. He told me he collapsed while teaching a class.

The next day, we had a moment of silence in the high school shortly before the morning announcements, and were told the flags were at half-mast all over the district. Later that day, there was an announcement forbidding high school students from entering the middle school.

That weekend, they held a day of the funeral for former students. My sister and I went there separately (I don't know why she went, I don't think he was her teacher). I wore a black dress shirt and black pants from earlier that day, as we were celebrating my father's 50th birthday at a nice restaurant. It was a chilly March evening, but I ignored the cold as I waited in the long line into the funeral home with my father. I also pointed out to him former teachers of mine. In front of me was my 6th grade band teacher, and a relative of my 7th grade band teacher. As we got in, I also pointed out two cafeteria staff members who both retired, my current phys. ed. teacher, and my current science teacher. There was a board that students could write on saying their goodbyes to the teacher.

When I finally got into the room, I saw many students. My father and I walked up to the coffin (this was a wake, so it was open). He wasn't wearing a suit, but a casual dress shirt. We stood there in silence for a few minutes. My father wanted us to leave, but I insisted on staying longer. He left and waited in the car.

I stood back near the entrance again. I saw that girl who told me to not play the high notes in that Miss Saigon medley there, as well as her twin sister. Whenever they hugged someone, such as one of the chorus teachers (the man who played the Phantom in the Phantom of the Opera piece), they broke out in tears. I also went to the guy I IMed the other day, and asked him how he was doing. Knowing I wasn't going to be talked to by anyone else, I left and went back into the car and went home.

I talked to my father about how kind he was, and how young he was when he taught me.

So, I can sort of sympathize with you...Juat pray every night for your friend, and know others are praying with you.

That is... a very unfortunate loss, Vid. You said it with very nice words... I could imagine him. He sounded like a very good person, and always cared for the students; unlike most of my school's teachers. I am so sorry about this... It is even worse when you experience such a tragic event so young. When somebody close to you dies, you feel like it wasn't true-- like it never happened.

When my friend died, I didn't even cry until I got to the funeral. I was just in so much shock that I couldn't believe. When I saw his life-less body in the coffin bed, I bawled for hours. My other friend who was with me held his hand saying "Wake up, please...". As you can tell, he was a very loved and popular guy. Thank you very much for your added sympethy. I am praying for him, and will start praying for your teacher. Just remember that even though somebody passes away, they will still be with you, helping you along your life time. Know why he was remembered, and praise is soul for his deeds.

Keep your friends close...

I'll think about it, Meowrik...ah, heck, I forgive you. Besides, I have to admit something aswell.

Mr. Wiggles and Trainman are the only ones who knew this, but allow me to re-introduce myself. It's me, Lord Lonic, also known as Lonic the Elfinhog and Jake. I suppose it's better to say this in the New/Returning members thread, but meh, I'd rather say it in this thread since it's what inspired me to come back.

Either way, I'm sorry for the way I acted in the past. Complaining over jon getting banned was a stupid reason to leave and then spam which got me banned. I regret doing that, enspecially since jon barely hangs out on messege boards anymore (to busy with Runescape, he usually is...yes, I mean't for that to sound like Yoda). When I saw that this place got a new messege board, I decided to check up on it, and looked at this thread, seeing Mr. Wiggles's first post inspired me to come back. I then decided to join (or was it use account a while ago and become more active after seeing this post? I'm not sure). The reason why I didn't use my old account is because I wasn't sure wether it was still banned or not, but after being informed that it was indeed unbanned, I tried it out, and found that my old password was changed. So, I continued using the Poop Dude account, with only Mr. Wiggles and Trainman knowing who I am.

Now my question is this...can you all please forgive me? Despite my username, I've matured alot since I was last here.

Okay, It might be because I've known it all along but I can't really see why many of you are shocked about how Poop Dude turned out to be Lord Lonic. I mean, many of his posts dropped a ton of hints about who he truly was plus his knowledge about TMK's past should've practically given away that he's been around before. Then again I did protect his identity by lying about him being a lurker, but I didn't think people would actually believe that excuse.

Okay, guys, it appears that another previously banned member would like to return to TMK. I'm talking with Master Mario on IRC as we speak. He says he's really sorry for the way he's acted in the past, and that it's no wonder the other members didn't like him. and since I recall MegaByte implying on the chat that he wasn't forbidden to return after the accidental mass unbanning, I expect that there won't be any major objection if he comes back. (Incidentally, I expect that he might post soon after this post of mine, since I told him that I didn't think he was forbidden after what MB said.)

Seriously, he's a good guy. I strongly recommend that you give him another chance.

....Another loss, this time, in the family.

...One of my cats.

(https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F216.218.248.205%2Fdatastore%2F41%2Fb0%2Fb%2F41b0b0355f386dae035e2dc1915546f9.jpg&hash=4737f5f2fa32f65688f7c32607f44042)

Her name was Keri. We got her in April of 2000. She was a very small cat, and it turns out, she had a few problems. She was very similar in appearance to Dustin, one of our other cats, but the spots on her fur were darker than his.

Her teeth had been damaged (they were later removed), when she was spayed, they didn't "complete" the operation (this was later fixed), she had an eye infection she wouldn't let anyone treat (in the first years we owned her, she ran away from everyone and didn't want to be pet at all), and she had problems with the litterbox (this was also fixed after awhile)....

This morning, at around 2 AM, I woke up to sounds of screaming and wailing. I thought someone had broken in and injured themselves. I got out of bed to see what happened. Mom told me it was Keri, and that there was something wrong with her, but we couldn't take her to the vet because it was very early in the morning.

The wailing continued through the night. Then, at around 5, I woke up to the sound of her screaming again. It was a very eerie sound.  I thought there was something stuck in her throat that she ate or something. This time, I got out of bed, and dad was there. I asked him what he thought was wrong with her, because from what I was hearing, it sounded like she didn't have much time left. I also saw that when she was wailing, she was batting her arms at the air, as if she was trying to fight something away.

He was a bit more optimistic, and thought she wasn't going to die. I stayed up in my room for an hour, and changed into my clothes.

I went off to school, knowing that she'd be taken to the vet.

While I was at school, though, as he and mom were rushing her to the vet, she...

My father picked her up. She looked at him, with her mouth open, as if she was suffocating. He tried to blow into her mouth to resuscitate her (not mouth to mouth). Then, she just, closed her eyes, and went.

I arrived home later than usual, as I stayed after to practice for a show I am going to participate in next week. I was unaware that my father had failed to get her to the vet in time, and went about my normal ways until Dad came home. He told me what happened. What I predicted that morning, sadly, was correct.

We'll be burying her later this evening. Rest in Peace, Keri. 2000-2006

Rest in Peace, Keri. Pets are always a loss in the family. My fish died when I was little and I was really sad. Do you all know yet what was wrong with her?
Title: Re: Dearly missed members.
Post by: Vidgmchtr on April 18, 2006, 05:10:55 PM
No, and I feel very awkward that we're burying her when we don't know HOW she died.

My parents say it was due to hallucinations or seizures. I'm thinking she swallowed something big and started to slowly suffocate.

When she died, my parents just turned the other way and went home.

EDIT: After talking to my parents, I realized that they DID get her to the vet, rather than turned around.

We showed the other cats, and they looked at her. Dustin looked back at us and meowed. He reached up for my shoulder, and I hugged him.

We had a small hole, and buried her. (She was in a small casket that said):

Kerri (Googoos) Parisi
April 2000 - April 18th 2006

After we put her in the hole, dad dumped some of the soil on the casket with a shovel. He handed the shovel to mom, who did the same, then she handed the shovel to my brother to do the same, then handed the shovel to me so I could do the same, and then I handed the shovel to my sister, who also did the same. The shovel was given back to dad, who then gave another shovel to my brother, and to my mother, and they continued until she was completely buried. Mom put a small wooden cross by the grave, which sits under a floodlight that'll be lit up every night. She also made a small rock formation near the grave.

Everyone of us was crying.

My parents wouldn't let me have my dog's body for burial or have her cremated for us and put into an urn. When she died I never saw her again. She's miles away now, in a horrible mass burial. The only thing I have left of her is her brush with her hair on it from the day she died.

Vader the dog got an honorable burial with tombstone and I'm sure his brother Patches will as well. But cats... nah. We once had two pigs which we slaughtered and ate, so they kind of got a respectable end. My first dog Bobo was just shot by my dad because he kept bothering the neighbors and they were going to shoot him if we didn't. Come to think of it, I don't know what happened to Bobo's remains after that.

Hey guys!  I'm a NES fan and active on a few NES forums.  One of these is NESPlayer.com.  For a long time we've been plagued by an homophobic argumentative hyperposter named Yoshi55.  I believe you may have heard of him.  Actually, I know so, because one of the things he [complained] about (and he [complained] a lot) was this forum, about how he was banned because everyone was "Nazi" about the Super Nintendo (by the way, I looked that up, totally funny stuff).  Anyway, no one really liked him, but NESPlayer is a tiny under-active community, and the site management is pretty relaxed so he was never banned or anything.  So he's been posting away for years about how everything sucks, right?  Well, a fellow named Homogroxxual started a thread "Why Yoshi55 sucks" and we listed some 30-odd reasons why he sucks.  Well, about the 4th page, Homogroxxual finds his youtube moniker, VaderNES.  It's a lot of really strange, poorly made videos.  This gets the site owner googling and he finds a "Yoshi55" on a reptile forum giving out advice about lizards.  Then I start googling him and find themushroomkingdom.net.  But then it gets weird.  I find a quizilla page where Yoshi55 made a quiz on John Cena, the wrestler.  It was a poorly made fan quiz--but what do you know, at the end of the quiz the last question asks if John Cena is sexy.  The only answer is yes.  Mind you he's terribly homophobic and uses the words "g*y" and "f*g" incessantly.

So I come back and post links on my findings.  I totally outed him.  He logged in shortly after my post.  He never replied and he hasn't been back since!  We agreed you guys should be in on this, since you're the only other people who might have heard of Yoshi55 and could get a kick out of it.

As a bonus, check out the NESPlayer apology to Yoshi55, the pic I made is priceless:

Please note that Yoshi55 started posting as "Dry Yoshi55" after a forum mishap where old logins didn't work for awhile.  So he made a new one and liked it enough to keep it.  So you'll see his posts as "Dry Yoshi55," but if you want to search the site for his hilarious nonsense also search for "Yoshi55."

Cool forum you guys have!  I would've made a new topic, but I can't since I'm a new member, so I thought I'd bring this one back as it's the most relevant.  Anyway, I might lurk here a bit--see ya'll around!

Can someone explain this sudden influx of old members returning and/or newbies posting on threads made by old members, before I lose my mind?

Hahaha, Yoshi55.

Why do people call Princess Toadstool Princess Peach? She is called Princess Toadstool, not Princess Peach! Stop calling Princess Toadstool Peach!!!! It annoys me.

Man, I can't believe he (or anyone else on the Internet) would waste one forum's time by whining about getting banned from another one. I only recognize him because he started seriously posting in the couple of months I lurked here before I joined.

Yoshi55...ugh. He hated us 'cause we didn't bow down, worship, and make love to the NES system.

Yoshi55 was sort of like an old-school version of that dude who wanted to make love to the Wii and made topics about it every five minutes.
