6th Paragraph Down

Some E3 journal from Dave of Nintendo Power, as i said, the 6th paragraph down...

he mentions that Iwata talked of Super Smash Bros. for the Revolution at its release, with wi-fi capabilities. i think i can safely say, wi-fi revolution Super Smash Bros. will be one of the most humongous things for any Nintendo fan ever. (until they release the next Smash Bros. that is, heh-heh)

Mario Chat / Not sure if anyone else heard this...
« on: May 16, 2005, 08:59:10 PM »
i'm not sure if anyone else heard about this, however, i read somewhere on a list of games Nintendo announced recently...
Mario Party 7 - you knew it was coming.
Mario Tennis Advance - it's finally official
Mario Kick Strike (or something like that) - a Mario soccer game.

Mario & Luigi 2 - awesome. either on GBA or DS... i forgot which but most likely GBA.

plus Nintendo Tetris for DS. sounds interesting.

another golf game for DS, only it's like, NIntendo golf or something. not sure if they mean Mario Golf style, or just a golf game produced by Nintendo like Penant Chase is.

Metroid: Dread - a brand new 2-D sidescroller Metroid game for DS. (Metroid Prime Hunters is still coming out too)

i think that's all... i might have missed some.

General Chat / ADVANCED Poster Awards Ceremony
« on: January 21, 2005, 09:29:44 PM »
My apologies for the delay. Originally, I
intened to do it a while after the polls
closed, so it'd be more of a surprise to see
who won, since no one would remember the
thread, by now. However, my computer was
experiencing some, rather idiosyncratic problems, leaving me unable to do this
for a week or so...

Alas, here are the awards...

Welcome, all, to the Closing Cermonies of
the Poster Awards for Winter 2004. We had
quite a year, and many memories.

Of course, I'd like to thank everyone for
voting. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Most Intelligent Poster Award

In this world, intelligence is a gift given to you when you are born. Everyone likes smart people. They're good for lots of stuff. Of course, we have our own local genius here, as well.

And the Smartest Poster on the forums is...

Megabyte!

Congratulations, Megabyte. You've shown us all that it's possible to be cool and ingenious at the same time.

Runners up: TIE- Deezer/Insane Steve

Most Unique Poster Award

Weird? Maybe. But unique is a much nicer way of putting it. Though, being unique can also be a sign of intelligence. So when you can't get the conviluted stories of Lady Bow out of your head, you know who to thank.

The Award for Most Unique Poster goes to...

Shawne 20!

As strange as Shawne 20's stories may be, he's shown us the pinnacle of weirdosity. Take it as a compliment, 'cause there's lots of people like so, in the world.

Runner up: Chupperson Weird

Most Productive Poster Award

So you people don't like my definition of Productive, eh? Not a problem. The people have spoken, and shown us who supplies us with our daily recommendation of good, wholesome threads.

Who is the most Productive Poster here? None other than...

Lizard Dude

Without the exquisite threads Lizard Dude creates, n00b threads would drive you all insane. A round of applause for Lizard Dude.

Runner up: Chupperson Weird

Most Missed Poster Award

As time goes on, people come, people go. It's beyond our control. So of course, there is one person here, who we all miss dearly.

That person is none other than...

Watoad

With an overwhelmingly record number of votes (6 votes) Watoad is clearly who we miss the most. Watoad, we miss you.

Runner up: Meowrik (Don't worry, I'll be gone again after this)

Most Amiable Poster Award

Had a bad day? Need a helping hand? We've all experienced that. Some people more than others. But when you don't want to explode on the first person who talks to you, you know you want to talk to that certain nice person of the boards...

Which poster is it that is nice to everyone...

Sapphira!

Of course, one of the few girls who come here. You can always count on Sapphira to treat you nicely, even when the rest of the board has taken its toll on you.

Runner up: TIE- Marliemoo/RedParatroopa

Best Sigs Award

What makes a poster... that's a rhetorical question. We all know the answer is their Signature. Everyone has their sig to go with every post. Whether it's inspirational or intriguing, or just plain hilarious, your sigs mark your personality.

And the Poster with the best Sigs on the forums is...

Redparatroopa

Redparatroopa's sigs got him this category. Whether he's quoting someone or completely random, be sure to love every sig he makes.

Runner up: Lizard Dude

Due to a lack of voting, Post of the Year has been omitted.

Well everyone, there you have it. I have one final award to give, and no, it's not the Deezer Award. This award sums up the overall best poster we have. This award is based on whoever won the most votes, altogether.

And the winner of Poster of the Year... is...

Lizard Dude!!

Congratulations Lizard Dude! With an astonishing 9 votes, you are officially the Poster of the Year for 2004!

And everyone, I won't be back 'til, oh, I dunno. Let's just say, we'll meet again. Don't know where, don't know when. But I know I'll be back someday to do the awards again. Arrivederci, all.

General Chat / Winter 2004 ADVANCED Poster Awards
« on: December 06, 2004, 05:44:24 PM »
Well, despite my rarely coming here, I will still continue my duties as the host of the Poster Awards.

For all you n00bs out there, the Advanced Poster Awards began a time ago, somewhat long ago. Someone had made some sorta poorly contructed Award thread for the forums, "The TMK Poster Awards". It didn't really last, and died off. I took it upon myself to make a newer, better version of it. Now, I do them twice a year; Winter and Summer.

What are they? Well, they basically are an award ceremony thread. There are categories, and you vote for whoever you want to win. At the end of the whatever, I tally the votes up, and host the award ceremony.

Now that you're all informed, I'll leave you with this:

I will post the categories and rules tomorrow. Voting begins tomorrow, and it shall end December 24th, 2004.

Video Game Chat / Thanksgiving and Nintendo News
« on: November 25, 2004, 10:33:03 AM »
First off, I'd just like to wish everyone here a Happy Thanksgiving. Anyone got any interesting plans of some sort? I'm just going to my bro's house, nothing big.

Also, I have to say, that was some pretty impressive news Nintendo released yesterday. If you didn't hear, go read about it. Mario Baseball.... I think it could possibly be a good idea. I think it's a bit weird, but, I dunno. I'm not saying it's a good idea, I'm just saying it's not a bad idea. Secondly, Donkey Konga 3. I love the original, still not tired of it, and eagerly await Donkey Konga 2. Kirby's Adventure for Gamecube, yes. Thank you. I love Kirby Air Ride A LOT. Many of you know how I like it more than Double Dash, but come on, we need a new Kirby adventure game, and those graphics are awesome.

Watch out... the ADVANCED Poster Awards will be back this holiday season, so keep your eyes peeled.

Oh, and one more question... I think I might've asked this before, but does anyone know if there's ever been a Super Mario balloon/float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade?

Video Game Chat / DK Bongos Mystery...
« on: November 04, 2004, 07:42:41 AM »
Well well, I return to report some news.
(Yes, I will host the Fungi Forums Poster Award again soon, so do not fret)
I was tinkering around with the DK Bongos, to continue research on what Luigison(I think it was him) said about the Bongos. He was incorrect about saying the bongos don't correspond to certain buttons. I recently discovered there are two different sections of each individual bongo, with a more than one button under the padding; one in the front of it, one in the middle of the drum, and one in the back, closest to you when you hold it. What I've found out is that the bongos actually do correspond to buttons!

The layout is as follows:
Front of Right- X Button
Back of Right- A Button
Start- Start (Obviously)
Front of Left- Y Button
Back of Left- B Button
Clap- R Button

To hit the buttons on the drum correctly, you need to hit it in certain spots. To hit the front, you need to hit the front, and back, you must hit the very edge of the padding, to hit the button. Now one thing I can't solve is what the big buttons in the center of the pad do. Right now, it looks like it does the front button's command, however, it could very well be both buttons. I played both Metroid Prime, and SSBM to test these out, and yes, it is possible to play using them, though not really. The problem is, there's no way of moving with the bongos, unless there is something I have yet to discover.
Now the question is...
Besides Donkey Konga, are there any games that do not require movement, and only operate with the A, B, X, Y, Start, and R buttons? I found it sorta possibly to play SSBM, however, once you get hit by an attack, you're in trouble, so that's no fun.

Questions? Comments?

I'm Meowrik, here with Vidgmchtr and we have set a new record first thing, in two TMK FOrum Members meeting each other in reality.

Today was a party, and Mike AKA Vidgmchtr came over, and now we plan on playing some games.

It is a memorable occasion in the history of the forums.

General Chat / Ronald Reagan
« on: June 05, 2004, 08:53:34 PM »
Ronald Reagan sadly passed away today. At the age of 93, his alzheimers(spelling?) caused him to stop breathing.

Any thoughts? Comments? I was very shocked hearing this.

I decided to make a Microsoft Paint picture of myself the other day, and decided to post it here.

Here's a link.

And so, now you people should go make pictures of yourselves on MS Paint. When done, post them here.

Mario Chat / Awesome Game Ideas
« on: May 29, 2004, 10:40:07 PM »
I know there's been a topic like this before, but I wanted to share a really cool idea I came up with while talking to someone recently... (Forgive the wacky capitilization and sentence fragments. This was copied and pasted from an AIM conversation, and I tend to write sentence fragments and such on there)

You know how some final bosses usually have like 5 different stages... Well, Make the final battle with Bowser the ways you defeated him in other games. Like, First phase,First could be battling him in his Koopa Clown Copter. From Super Mario World. Have one hit make him start throwing the Big Steelies out, Then the next make him go to the angry Copter thing where he tries squishing you, Then another, Make him fall out of the copter, Then, THen you could make him Do the Super Mario 64 thing, Throw him into the bombs on the field three times, then the next phase a fight where he jumps onto the floor, And you have to make him jump through the floor like in Super Mario Bros. 3 And then when he falls down into some dungoen or something, Make it like in original SMB, He's on the bridge You just need to run underneath him, Hit the axe and chop the rope down, He falls in the lava, You run in, But Peach isn't there..... All of a sudden... The castle starts crumbling. Bowser rises outta the lava huge like in Super Mario World 2!!! Then you need to throw.... I dunno, Koopa Shells at him. And then he will be finished. That will be the final phase.
HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE?!

Every Mario fan would go loco over something like that, 'cause every Mario fan loves references to old games.

Actually, anyone who played Mario party 5 knows they had that exact idea of a 3-D version of fighting Bowser like in Super Mario Bros. 3

See, now if any of you have any cool ideas like that, go right on ahead and leave it here.

General Chat / Bill Gates Pied
« on: May 24, 2004, 08:32:03 PM »
I was talking with the clerk at the local Gamestop recently about Nintendo and he brought up how recently Bill Gates was at some News Conference thing in Belgium, and someone did a drive by pie in the face to him. They walked up and slammed  apie into Bill Gate's face! Anyone else hear of this or have video footage?

Every so often, while on the forums, I see a really tiny blue-gray square sitting at the top-left corner of the page, to the left of the AD banners. If I click on it, it takes me to IGN.

What the heck??

Video Game Chat / Kirby Star: The Great Labyrinth of the Mirror
« on: April 21, 2004, 05:52:22 PM »
New Kirby game coming out!

You gotta see some of the cool stuff in it...

One of the staff members at my site has a Japanese copy of the game, and found some awesome things in it.

One cool thing, you face Master Hand and Crazy Hand in it! They use attacks similar to their SSBM attacks, and are a boss of some point in the game.

Another cool little thing, there's a special power in the game that let's you use Kirby's attacks from SSBM.

Don't believe me? Check it out.

Kudos to Hal on their awesome allusions.

General Chat / Dr. Mario e-mail???
« on: April 09, 2004, 12:19:58 PM »
I recently got an e-mail from Dr. Mario that was forwarded a large amount of times from various e-mails on the Fungi Forums about AOL and Microsoft merging and them sending you money for forwarding the e-mail to test beta software...

Anyone else hear of this?
