That made me sad. I'll be avoiding media posts about the subject, due to the fact that people have decided now is the perfect time to complain about his business practices and say things not far from "Maybe Nintendo will git gud."
I'm a horrible person.

I don't know who is running the Playstation Twitter, but here is what they tweeted a while ago. Much respect was gained (and some respect for their followers was lost).

I hope he went directly to the Overthere.
Kinopio is the ultimate video game character! Who else can drive a kart, host parties, play tennis, give good advice and items, and is almost always happy??

Bill Trinen just posted this for him.

I was deeply saddened to hear he had passed -- and so young, from something so awful. Nintendo was there for the better part of my childhood under his presidency -- this could truly be the end of an era.

Since it was cancer-related and he was wealthy I'm sure he had some idea that this was coming. Now, imagine spending what you know to be your last few weeks alive being yelled at by Internet nerds about the existence of Federation Force. Jesus. No one deserves that fate, least of all Iwata-san. RIP dude. :(

He was an amazing man and an amazing programmer, and there are many reasons to be saddened by his passing.
