I have to wonder what the mods think of this.  Yoshi 1-up is posting thread after thread that's a joke without a punch line and ends up locked.  Isn't this grounds for a ban, or a "cease or be banned" warning?

And no one remembered the bunny ears in "Super Mario Land 2."  : )

I think you guys need to chill.  I don't feel I need to defend my opinion, since I didn't give it in the context of an argument.  I gave it as a response to Wiggles' post about the sequel for the D.S.  I should have just told him "thanks for the info" and left it at that, but instead I chose to express that I wasn't interested because I didn't like the original game.  I don't see that as a situation where I need to defend or justify my opinion.

I thank the people who aren't overreacting to this.  And if someone really wants to know my criticisms of "Yoshi's Island" that bad they can P.M. me and I'll P.M. them back.

It wasn't "Kid Icarus."  Unfortunately I've never played that legendary game.

I seriously don't understand why people are willing to pay that much for T-shirts.

At least it's more reasonably priced than those shirts they sell at rock concerts!  Paying $30 for a David Bowie T-shirt?!?  Only if it comes with Labyrinth!

"Yoshi's Island" has gained quite a few fans who will sometimes defend it overzealously, so my posting criticisms of the game will just lead bad places (like it did on this board several years ago).  I probably shouldn't have even mentioned that I don't enjoy it.  So let's just drop the subject, okay?

Platformers are fine.  : )

"Puggsy!"  That name sounded right as soon as I read it, and now I've done some research and found out that that's the same game for sure.  The screenshots on MobyGames threw me off because the graphics looked very different from how I remembered (probably because we're talking about a game I played one time when I was 11), but then I looked up a walkthrough on GameF.A.Q.s and found the part about the candle.  Thank you, Fifth!

Now we just need to figure out the one with the eyeball boss.  I think it was a difficult platform game with frantic autoscrolling and living bug-platforms, but my memory could be playing tricks on me again.

That isn't exactly new.  I saw that same shirt on sale like a month ago.

Anyway, my favorite Mario t-shirt so far is the 1-up mushroom one at Thinkgeek.com.

Look closely at the wall.  It says "L is real star."  ; )

I heard that if you beat Tomb Raider ten times in a row without getting hit, dying, using any ammo, killing any enemies, or saving your game once, then you'll get the actual real ultimate true nude code. For real.

I won't post my criticisms of "Yoshi's Island" because I don't want a flamy argument started.  Let's just say it's not my kind of game and leave it at that.

Thanks, Megabyte.  I looked that title up on Moby games and that's definitely it.

Game 3 wasn't "Vectorman" or "Claymates."  It was a very cartoonish platform game.  The graphics were reminiscent of "Donkey Kong Country," and the main character looked like he might be related to Gumby.

Years ago I played a couple titles on N.E.S. and one on Sega Genesis that I can't remember the titles of.  I'd really love to learn what these were called and maybe find copies someday.  Any info you can give me will be appreciated.

Game 1 (for N.E.S.): All I remember is that the final boss was a giant eyeball hanging from a ceiling.  It dripped slime that became pillars.

Game 2 (for N.E.S.): You were a werewolf who for some reason had metal hooks for hands.

Game 3 (for Sega Genesis, released ca. 1994): You were a claymation-looking guy, and you had to light a candle to beat one of the early stages.

Do any of these descriptions ring a bell for anyone?

Thank you for alerting me to "Advance 4"/e-Reader, Toad.  I looked it up and it sounds tantalizing, but it seems like it would be too complicated and costly to really be worth it.  I'll keep it in mind, though.

I've always loathed "Yoshi's Island" so I doubt I'll ever buy "Yoshi's Island D.S."

If you'd read through the list at that link you'd see it doesn't include "Super Mario Land 2."

I don't know what you mean by "what kind" of RPG, though.

I mean, does it have strong R.P.G. elements, or is it just a sort of semi-R.P.G. like those Mana games?
