Honestly, I keep hearing about it sometimes and I don't know what it even is. Can you TMK guys tell me about it?
-
If you use the site search, you will find the answer quickly.
-
It's Pikmin.
-
It's Mario in the year 2109.
-
It's an Event Match in Smash Bros Melee.
-
It was a tech demo.
-
It is matter... It is antimatter... It can see your past... It can see your future... It consumes time... And it will consume you!
-
It's mostly pornography.
-
It's a one-hit KO!
-
It's a game.
-
What was even the game about? Is it 2D or 3D?
-
According to LD (http://themushroomkingdom.net/board/index.php?topic=7864.msg379502#msg379502), here's the box art for Mario 128.

It WAS a demo at E3 or something that was meant to demonstrate the Gamecubes 128 bits (hence the name). Heres a video:

It is not and will never be a game!
-
Yeah, except the GameCube has a 64-bit CPU.
-
Why are you always around, ChumpPerson?
-
To correct blatant factual errors stated as truth by n00bs of course!
Anyway Matty G-Dawg Triple Triple, if you would have listened to Deezer (http://themushroomkingdom.net/board/index.php?topic=10195.msg467446#msg467446), you'd already have found this (http://www.themushroomkingdom.net/techdemos.shtml#m128).
P.S. ChumpPerson was a good insult, though. :)
-
MegaByte informed me earlier that the GameCube CPU is actually 32-bit. !shock!
-
We could start a topic with nicknames...which will also involve ChumpPerson and Geezer...
-
ProTip: It's not wise to insult the staff and moderators of the very website you're posting on.
-
Yeaaahhhhh...but why are you guys a bit negative to me?
-
I think it has something to do with your current behavior. If you can't really understand, you will in a year or two (depending on your age), just like I did.
-
See, the problem is, people confuse "100 Marios" with Super Mario 128:
100 Marios: A tech demo of a bunch of Marios running around, used at E3, etc. to demonstrate the GCN's power. Later became the engine for Pikmin, basically.
(Super) Mario 128: With 128 being the natural progression of the GCN's power from the N64 and so far back in time (8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit on occasion, 64-bit...), this was the code-name of sorts for an oft-promised, never-released Mario game on the GCN to follow up Super Mario Sunshine. For all we know, Super Mario Galaxy took its place.
-
Not really. The actual name of "100 Marios" was Mario 128 if you watch the original video. Super Mario 128 was often cited as an ongoing project, but then at GDC, Miyamoto said the concepts from the original demo were split up and further developed in different games. The large amount of characters idea became Pikmin and the spherical world concept developed into Super Mario Galaxy.

Several days ago I read the Tech Demo Part (I didn't know it was there! Darn...), and it explains everything! Thenks!
You can lock the topic now.
PS: I found out on a different thread that the cover is fake!
-
Yeah, except the GameCube has a 64-bit CPU.
Ugh, the Nintendo 64 has a 64 bit CPU! the Gamecube has a 128 bit CPU!
-
Dude, no one really cares, since this topc died nearly a month ago.
-
But uh yeah actually the GameCube had a 32-bit CPU. The N64 technically has a 64-bit processor, although it has a 32-bit bus, thus effectively making it a 32-bit system for the most part as well.
-
Ah. This whole bit thing is a "bit" confusing to some. Haha, get it? 'Cause I said bit? Hilarious, I know; you all must be rolling all over the floor by now.
-
In our graves.

Let me out of this box, I can't breathe, where's my DS!!!!!!
