Paper Mario question

At some point in the game (I forget where, but fairly late . . . maybe sometime during or after Flower Fields) somebody mentions how much Yellow Yoshis like food, and how they'd appreciate it if you gave them really yummy food.  Or something.  Is there actually an item you're supposed to give them?  If so, what is it?  I've tried a lot of stuff and they never ask for anything I have.

No . . . no, not the gate thing.  The Yoshies.  I think it's Russ T. who tells you (after the area you're talking about) that Yellow Yoshies love yummy food, and to give them some if you ever find any.  I've tried yellow berries and they don't work.

Give Yoshi something Tayce T. cooked with two ingredients, and Yoshi will give you a Melon.
