This forum has gotten boring! It has! When I first registered here, it was so cool and I posted all the time. Now I hardly ever bother to go here anymore. This board needs something new and exciting! Most of the posts are dull and boring.

I know I might sound like a whiner, but its the truth!

You said the forum needed something "new and exciting".  Oh well, I guess it wasn't that funny anyway.

The forums should pick back up soon.  There is too much other stuff going on now.  Schools starting.  Camp Hyrule.  The long wait for the Nintendo DS, Paper Mario, and other Nintendo games.

Don't waste space posting if you're gonna complain WarioLandMan... and don't come here if you don't like it. This wasn't meant to be a mean suggestion, but just giving you a firm point.

I think Luigison's attempt to be funny r0x0rz. It was funny.

no, I meant the whole board (Fungi Forums) has gotten a bit slow. Only about 30 or so people post. 2,000 are registered. We need to get more people to become active.

I'll do the list think, Ok?

1) Sorry about misspelling your name, koopaslaya!

2) No, I don't want to start a flame war, that's the last thing I wanted to create.

3) Yes, intelligent posters are preferable to loads of spammers.

4) This board could definitely use more posters of any sort to liven this place up a bit. (Well maybe no too many spammers...)

5) As I said in one of my previous posts, I used to post here all the time because there were a lot of cool topics and stuff. What happened to the cool topics and stuff?

6) I realize school has started, but I've noticed this board's slowing down-ness (weird sentence, let's continue...) since Summer.

7) *steps down from soap box*

Autography is an artform. It takes years to master and sometimes decades to get the correct style and size down. I doubt someone his age could even pass the screening for the amature autograph class, and they're not even past print yet.

The main reason I left in the first place was because it got way too boring(that, and I was an ******* during the Code Wars so I thought I'd let the heat die down). I may leave again if I get too much rotten fruit thrown at me again, though.

"How exactly could this forum be better anyway?"

For one, a quote feature so I could click that rather than having to manually copy/paste the quoted text into a post like here.

Other than that....well let's see.  *unrolls a list 5 miles long* There's a lot that could be improved. A less easy to hack forum structure could be a start. Then there's the complete lack of features common in most boards today.

I can and do make forum modifications, however. Nothing too serious though, mostly clever Javascript. But, say, avatars and maybe a photo album(a collection of forum member photos and notable quotes from them) aren't out of my league. But I can already see a lot of you staring at me with that "Don't mess with our board" look, so I'll just leave it at that.

*Stares at CashCrazed with a "Don't mess with our board" look*

Actually, just kidding.  I'm perfectly fine with the way that the boards are now, like I've said in other threads.  The only thing I'm really against is flashy colors, huge (if any) avatars, and distracting animated gifs.

However, I think that the quoting tool idea ceratinly isn't a bad one (despite the fact that I wouldn't use it anyways).

Well, I'm so used to using a quoting tool that its absence is kind of a shock....

I bet the avatar idea will get booed down, but the photo album might work. It's my most popular mod at the other board I'm active at.

EDIT: I guess the activity level must be pretty good now, seeing as how by the time I post a reply to one post, another post beats it there.

In our meeting with IGN at E3, we asked about the fate of our .asp forums and it seems like we will be highly pressured into making some sort of change. Our main concern was that the old data be preserved and, if possible, even transferred to the new system. I... don't know how likely this is to occur, though. We were guaranteed that nothing would be taken away from us if we absolutely refused to have it taken away, so let that comfort you however much a guarantee from IGN comforts you.

My *prediction*: We will have a new forum system within a year, looking and performing much like this one, except with handy features like the ability to go directly to the last page of a thread and sticky posts. The data here will be, if we're incredibly lucky, already converted to the new forum. Much more likely, we'll get a giant text file of everything ever said here or this system will just sit here unused for us to peruse. But if this system *does* stay... why leave? I dunno, these are just predictions from what happened at the meeting.
