Does the site no longer support animated avatars, or is my browser just being weird? My current avatar is a .gif, but it isn't moving like it should.

Your avatar is currently a .png. I dunno how the site handles images (specifically avatars) as attachments--like if it converts it to .png or something, but animated avatars hosted off-site work fine.

Edit: I'm thinking it probably does convert images, resizing them to fit the dimension specifications.

Your browser must be going crazy. I can see animated avatars just fine. Fifth's running fox creature and whoever has the "Ed banging his head against the ground" pic are animated for me.

I know this isn't an avatar, but Lizard Dude's pic from the Pokémon topic is also animated..

So, it seems .gif avatars are converted to .png format when uploaded from one's computer rather than from a URL. Interesting.

Neat! I can see Pooh Bear moving around now.

Now I just need a gif of Toad and I'll be set.
