Title: Mario Strikers District Tourney.
Post by: PaperLuigi on March 01, 2006, 07:06:16 PM
I've got a cool topic for Aarom and all the other Mario Striker fans. It's a tourney, and we need 8 people. It'll go like this:

1. We pick our characters, and no two people can be the same.
2. We randomly face off againts each other, and the winner progresses to the next round.
3. The loser goes into the loser bracket.
4. The winner is decided by points you score in each game.
Example:

Aarom 11 is pitted againts PaperLuigi. They both play seperate games. They come back to the boards and state their game results. The guy with the most point difference wins.  If that is the same, the perfect passes will decide the result. If not that, then most hits will win.

Rules: There will be 6 place awards.
2. Double elimination. If you lose twice, you're out.
3. Don't lie about your game result. Tell the truth, man.
4. No two people can be the same character.
5. Also, the game level must be on Legend or Super star. It can't be easy, folks.
6. Sorry, but no Super Strikes! We gotta play fair.
Okay, I need 7 people. I will be the 8th. I want to be Luigi.

I'm not participating, but I suggest instead of just posting your times, take a picture of the TV screen so you know their scores are true.

Well, that's a great idea and all, but everytime I take a picture of my T.V screen, there is a glare. Plus, I don't know how to post pictures........

Turn off the flash, then. To attach pictures, when you're typing your post, look down where there's a link that says "Additional Options..." and then click Browse and search for the picture on your computer. There's probably an easier way to do it, but that's how I got all my pictures on there for that MKDS contest a while ago.

It doesn't have to be a perfect picture of your screen, just enough so one can tell what the stats are. I send pictures to Official Xbox Magazine all the time for their demo disc contests, and they're really bad pictures but there's enough visible data on them for them to tell how well I did.

Just trying to help, some people might not be entirely truthful about their scores. (note: I am not pointing fingers. Just saying.)

Alright, that's great. However, my pictures would have to go to a developing center, and I can't drive. But at least now show everyone what I look like! Anyway, I need some people here to play. Come on now, don't back down from a challenge.......Aarom. Haha. Just kidding.

Oh. Sorry, I forgot to mention, you might need a digital camera in order to post pictures on the forums. I suppose I assumed you had one, PaperLuigi.

I can't. I don't own a gamecube.

Wowwie. Don't own a Gamecube?
Are you still going to get a Revolution, then?

I'm a trustworthy person, and count me in! When it comes to hits...

Also, can we do an in-game cheat that I know of that's not on the cheats menu?

No, I don't want to join. I'm not that good since I got the game 3 weeks ago. I'm only on professonal.

Okay, so now we have two people, and 6 guys to go. Anyone that has Strikers, come on down. We need some players now!

To be honest, I haven't had any current plans at all to get a Rev, but maybe after three or four years when the price drops to a reasonable amount (which may very well be launch day, compared to the launch price of oh, say, the PS3), because the idea of downloading my old NES games that don't work and playing them again would be amazing. Plus it'd be fun to try out that fancy controller.

Hm. Not that it's that big of a deal, but shouldn't this be on the Mario Chat forum?

---

Anyway, is Strikers a decent game? I hear some good things about it, but I'm not sure whether it's worth my money or not... especially with the whole shebang of games (and the Revolution) coming out this year.

To answer your question, I thought it would be fit to put this in the Forum games and RPG section. But the next day, it was moved here.

Mario Strikers is a great game, but be prepared to score some major points. The goalies suck, so the score is something like 17-10 sometimes.

Hey, you forgot me.

BTW, what level do we have to play on? (difficulty)

Legend. The weakest level you can play on here is Super Star.

EDIT: I didn't forget you. Aarom isn't playing.

Come on, guys! I really wanted to make this topic, and I want it to be a success. If there is anyone out there with Mario Strikers, come on down and play some soccer!

Whoa, that sounds kind of like Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey.  The score is usually around 9-8.  And these are 2 minute periods.

I have that game, and the scores are like that. Mario Strikers is high scoring because the goalies crumble under pressure. Anyway.......this forum needs more soccer players....

-_- Shoot. I play at professional. I did stand a pretty good chance at superstar, though.

Well, I'll take it down to professional. How 'bout that? Let's just say....you get 3 extra points for playing legend, and 2 for Super star. Mabey I can get Aarom to play now.

Hey, who keeps moving my topic? It's been moved 5 times now. Make up your mind already!

No need, PaperLuigi. Here's why. I lost to Peach & her Koopas on Professional level, which really ticked me off. So, I faced her team on superstar and won in overtime, so I'm good to go on Superstar level! :)

Okay, that's cool. And now my topic has been moved again. Please stop, whoever is doing this.
