Title: Need Help For Sonic and the Secret Rings!!!

I've read that the soul gauge is available from the start, but when I'm playing it says that my max soul gage is 100, but the soul gauge doesn't show up and I can't use Speed Break or Time Break. Please Respond

Well, just to get the question answered... No, you don't start with the soul gauge.  You get it at some point in the 4th chapter, I believe.  It's been a while since I've played, but I know you have to get to the level in the machine-castle area.  Beat the first mission, and I think you get it.
