Miyamoto's making a new game, and it's NOT a sequel! Guess my pitch for Ice Climber 2: Wrath of the Fire Divers didn't go as well as I thought. http://shigeruslist.com/2012/01/06/shigerus-secret-project/

I'm going to go right out and say it: this is pretty ****in' exciting.  Can't wait to see a totally fresh game concept out of this guy.

As much as I think the quality of Mario games has been on the rise since Galaxy, not many days pass by that I don't see or make a joke about how Nintendo never makes anything original anymore. It's good to be wrong once in a while

Do we know anything other than that it's not in one of his many series that we all love to play.

No, unfortunately all we know at this point is that he's working on something new.  It could seriously be anything at this point.  Which is both exciting and a little frustrating.  Hopefully we'll get some more info at E3, if not earlier.
