Do be honest I've thought this for some time. I honestly believe the inspiration came from the supposed "free state of consciousness" that drugs were believed to posses in the "liberated 60's" Miyamoto may have been seriously influenced from this point in time.

He might have been a Beatles fan too, a lot of Japanesse people who grew up in this point in time certainly were fans of the Beatles and everything they promoted [sgt peppers, Yellow submarine for eg].

Mario Chat / the "secret weapon" in SMB3?
« on: July 20, 2003, 04:25:59 AM »
i haven't played mario 3 in such a long time, but there was something that really baffeld me when i played it in the early days.

one of the kooper kids states something about a "secret weapon dad's been working on" or something to that effect. What exactly was that secret weapon??

i was under the impression that it was the part of level 8 where the map is masked out apart from the circle around mario. apart from that i saw nothing that resempled a "secret weapon" as such. can somebody clear this up for me??

thanks

I am very tired and happy!

Just got back home from a Shigeru Miyamoto signing in London. Luckily I was
one of the first 100 up for the signing and managed to get Super Mario Bros
[original nes] and Super Mario Bros 3 [original nes] signed.

Security was very tight and they wouldn't let anybody have more than one
item signed, as there were tooooo many people to get through. Fortunately my
girlfriend came along and got Mario 3 signed for me.

Unfortunately I wasn't the first 15 who managed to get a pre-release signed
copy of Zelda gba. Those "lucky" few, did have to camp outside virgin
megastore a whole 24 hours before they managed to see the man himself!
didn't fancy that much!

Did anybody else here go?

hi people haven't posted for a loooooong while, hope everyone is well!

just to get back into the swing, here's a question for you! :)

if you could have only ONE mario item [game, product] that you own now, signed by shigeru miyamoto what would it be?

I think i would have my spectrum +2 Mario Bros game signed or maybe the orginal "hot from the arcades" 1 page ad'.
