I honestly can't help you off the top of my head, but I can point you in the right direction.

GameSages has several great FAQs for SMRPG.  Go to <www.sages.ign.com>, then make your way to the SNES section.  Look under SMRPG for tons of great secrets and a link to the page of FAQs.  Or, just copy and paste this link to the address bar ->

<http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/game/9415.html>

P.S.- Hinopio is in no way affiliated with GameSages or Game Faqs, please don't kick me off for advertising!

Wait!!!  I went back and played SMRPG again, and I got to Yo'ster Isle.  When racing Boshi, be sure to press the button (A or B) exactly with the beat, and hold down each button until the other is pressed.  It also helps if you 'practice' following the beat during the short intro music before the race.

Thanks. I never noticed the cymbols in the music before (I know that makes me sound $tupid) and finally beat that Boshi. And I took your advice and got a real good Jumping FAQ. Thanks for all the help. Especialy Zootaloo.

Has anyone beaten the guy in Monstro Town yet? I can never seem to win, yet I've beaten the big boss three times!

Patty-

Are you talking about Culex?  If so, try using Mario, the Princess, and Bowser in your party.  Then, try equipping the following-

Mario-
     Lazy Shell weapon (must have!)
Hero Shirt (or Super Jacket if you have it)
     Rare Scarf

Princess Toadstool-
     Frying Pan
     Lazy Shell armor (must have!)
     Safety Ring (must have!)

Bowser-
     Drill Claw
     Heal Shell armor
     Ghost Medal or Jinx Belt

During the battle, just have the princess huddle into defence position, while Mario and Bowser duke it out with the crystals and Culex.  When Mario or Bowser die, use Princess' Come Back spell to revive them.  With the Lazy Shell and the Safety Ring, the Princess is virtually indestructible.

Now, as far as attacks go-

Use Mario with the Lazy shell to do the most damage.  If you got the Star Egg from the Grate Guy's Casino, have Bowser use that every turn.  It takes a long time, but he can effect at least 50 HP damage every time.  Also, attack the Crystals/Culex in this order:

Wind Crystal (Green one, 800 HP)
Water Crystal (Blue one, 1800 HP)
Fire Crystal (Red one, 2500 HP)
Earth Crystal (Yellow one, 3200 HP)
Culex (4096 HP)

*If you have any Red Essences, use them all on Mario in this battle.  Make sure one Essence wears off before using another.*
