Hasn't changed? Of course it has! Most people are gone and everyone still here has had babies, or gotten jobs, or gotten jobs delivering babies
Thankfully, I fall in the middle of those three!

Given up on birds, Sam?
I'm slightly better looking, but that's about it.

I can almost certainly grow some form of facial hair now, but it's none more impressive than it was in 2006 than it is ten years later.

I love watching the heart rate counter soar as he gets to the last few levels.

Good times.

Same! He gives good reasoning of why he does the HR monitor, too. It helps drive home how nerve-wracking it is for him as a runner to the viewer sitting in the comfort of their dwelling. My heart rate definitely went up with his, especially on the last level.

Does the Bullet Bill trick starting at 3:35 actually save time?

Yes, 0.7 seconds to be exact. It's faster than waiting for the flag animation and the walking animation to the castle.

Mario Chat / New World Record for SMB any% on NES! darbian - 4:57.260!
« on: April 13, 2016, 11:16:45 PM »
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ev-QpxN8wPo

Everything about this run is the fastest a human has ever done it up to this point in history. darbian has held and improved the WR since October 18th of last year, starting with a 4:57.627 (only a few frames faster than the old record, which stood for a year and a half.) He again improved the record on January 14th, 2016 by 12 frames to a time of 4:57.427.

And now, tonight, on an otherwise normal night (like all the others), he broke the world record once again! I'm very happy to say I was in chat to witness it this time and it was very exhilarating. You just never know when these sorts of things are going to happen (he had actually reluctantly decided to stream that night while waiting for his laundry to dry).

More info on running SMB can be found by tracing darbian's post history on reddit, especially his contributions to the WR submissions on r/speedrun, which I have linked in the URLs for the times above. Here's the post for the new record.

DUUUUDE!!!
YEAH!
Hey! I was just recently wondering if you'd ever come back here.
Hey Bri! I was talking with none other than Eclipsed Moon on a Twitch chat a few nights ago, felt nostalgic, and decided to pop back in. Still throws me for a loop that the look of this place has not changed since I started coming here over a decade ago.

Who even remembers Mr. Melee anymore?

[I wish I didn't.]

So, this was the last picture of myself that I posted:

Truly, I am sorry.

Now that I've regained my composure, have an appropriate, current picture of me, for the sake of history:

Also, I grew out my hair last year and plan on doing so again. 'Twas a pain, but I like longer hair better:

Good God, man. I've heard tales of you, but never actually seen you.
All a part of my infamy, I suppose. I was a pretty terrible person from ages 12-15 or so; it was just that "I know everything" phase of my life where my ideas were challenged and I didn't like it. Now I challenge everything! I'd like to say I live a Rurouni Kenshin style of life, sans the incredible swordsmanship. I wander from forum to forum, sticking around for a bit before growing bored and moving on to the next one.

Anyway, I may pop back in the chat room tonight as I did last night, though it might not be until after midnight EST (as I might be going to see/play bass with a friend's band.) I hope to be present when some more of the ol' regulars appear again.

Hey Ian!

Contributing to the 2005 Blast from the Past. I'm most likely not here to stay, but I still figured I'd pop in and say hey. Hey!

I think this would be a great way to post one of my first posts in awhile.

Well, to straight out respond, I really hate those kind of people. You're going steady with them, then they find the worst excuses to not hang out with you anymore...avoidance is the worst possible thing to do to solve problems. You need to confront her and ask her what's bothering her.

But definitely stop with the drugs. Drugs will make everything worse. Waaaaaay worse. Unimaginably worse. There's just no light way to put it. You have to avoid them at all costs. There are much cooler ways to die.

Once you clean yourself up physically, clean yourself mentally. If I remember you correctly, you were a Christian. Get right with God again, man. Once you're right with The Creator, you'll feel much better. Pray to God for guidance and wisdom, because I'm sure he'll help. Your life is still salvageable, and if it all comes to the worst and if you guys do break up, then it was just not meant to be. I'd just let her go and find the true person you should be with. It's also not a good idea to be wanting a woman who is now on top of other guys, as you put it. That just means she's looking for satisfaction, not true love, in my opinion.

So, the checklist I'd recommend is:
1. Clean yourself physically - no more drugs and alcohol
2. Clean yourself spiritually - get right with God again
3. Clean yourself mentally - prepare yourself for confrontation, be firm in your beliefs, know who you are.
4. Continue with life no matter the outcome.

Soft, fluffy pancakes for me. I love both, however.

Well, I suppose none of you probably noticed or cared, but I haven't been delving into Forum topics as much in the past few months. I think my time here is basically done. I'm not a regular member anymore, and nothing is really appealing to me anymore. Rather than spend time here doing practically nothing, I'm probably going to barely visit the Forums that much anymore, if at all. There's just nothing to do anymore. I'm still a huge Nintendo/Mario fan and everything, but things here just lost the appeal they had many years ago.

So, though it's not exactly a complete good bye, especially since I'll be dwindling around in the politically correct chat rooms sometimes, I most likely will show up not very much anymore. Farewell, Forumers, and may God bless you in your lives.
