Title: When do I use the anchor?

I received a blue mushroom house after beating level 2-2 and getting all the coins, ect. I went in to the mushroom house and they gave me an anchor. What do I do with it? When do I use it? What does it do? I don't want to waste it to have these questions answered, so if someone could help I'd appreciate it!!

I suppose I forgot to mention that this all happened and I received the anchor while playing Super Mario AllStars on my SuperNintendo. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

The anchor keeps the airship from moving around the map.  This is really helpful if you have some levels you haven't done yet.

Everybody has the right to stupidity, but you''re abusing the privilage.
