World 8-2. I can not get past that big gap in the middle of the level! Help?!

Dang! I've gotten past that part, but that was 4 years ago! I forgot what you're supposed to do. At least now you aren't alone with playing NES games.

Make a running jump off of the pipe or the second block column.
