Not many people like it for its obese and slightly disgusting appearance in the first games, but my favorite Pokémon is Gengar. We had some good times together in LeafGreen, like wiping out the Elite Four when none of my other Pokémon were up to the challenge. He was called KB Ghost, and he was the first Pokémon I got up to Level 100.

-
Wooper, Quagsire, Blaziken.
-
Ah yes, the legendary bird type Pokémo--

Well I was mainly joking about that one. Most wouldn't consider glitches like 'M and myself to be real Pokémon.
-
missingno. (the pokemon), however is still a useful glitch.
-
Missingno Wasn't it a rumor to be in brawl?
-
Using Missingno. in the game to multiply items be cheating. Guess it doesn't matter since no one plays Red and Blue competitively anymore, but looking at the last post of yours, I fear I don't like your style...
-
If you're talking to me:
We already know you don't like my style.
http://themushroomkingdom.net/board/index.php?topic=11335.0
But about the topic at hand, I've never even used missingno.
It's just a fact that it's useful, cheating or not. Unless every one I've talked to who has used the glitch is lying.
-
I actually remember my old childhood chum showing me how to get Missingno, but I think it screwed up my game somehow.
-
Yes, but usually just the Hall of Fame
-
AHHHHH! MAH EYEZ! TEH SPOILERZZZZ!
Way to give out a legendary that hasn't even been released in Japan!!!!
-
Magikarp. Duh.
-
Oh! I can't believe I forgot one of my favorites from the first generation.
(https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.knowledgerush.com%2Fwiki_image%2F2%2F2d%2FPorygon.png&hash=9ef8cf5a6eafb83a7ef2a2e409c2de7d)
I remember buying SO MANY COINS to get this guy. Oh, sweet, blocky perfection.
-
Never saw that pokemon before.
(edit: he fixed the picture)
-
Me neither. What generation is that from?
-
Judging by description, I'm saying he is talking about PORYGON.
-
Me neither. What generation is that from?
The first gen. You might have not seen it because you skipped the place where you can spend a few weeks getting coins to buy this Pokemon.
-
Porygon is freaking RARE. You have to get, like, 9999 coins or something to get him. Thats why. They also have Proygon Z! The demented "baby" of Porygon 2.
-
And yet another joke ruined by post retcon.
(And you had better bet your bouncing booty I had a PORYGON.)
-
Porygon is the best thing ever! Seizure Flash is my favorite move!
-

Yep I'm goin' to that.
-
It seems like they're building up towards Platinum with all these Legendary give-aways; first Darkrai, now Deoxys (I never got Darkrai, though...
-
Bulbasaur, Tangla and Feralligator.
-
Mine favorite is Unknowns because they are weird.

I never achieved Darkrai either :( I was out of town that weekend. I'll definitely get Deoxys though.
-
Based on looks alone, because I don't like the Pokemon games. I tried one once, and it's just too much level grinding for me. Of what little I played of the first Pokemon game, I seemed to like Spearow.
1. Mightyena (#262)
2. Arcanine (#59)
3. Vulpix (#37)
4. Pidgey (#16)
5. Miltank (#241)
6. Ho-oh (#250)
7. Cubone (#104)
8. Buizel (#418)
9. Murkrow (#198)
10. Bidoof (#399)
11. Nidorina (#30)
12. Leafeon (#470)
13. Eevee (#133)
14. Xatu (#178)
15. Numel (#322)
So that's 6 from first generation, 4 from second generation, 2 from third generation, and 3 from fourth generation.
There's Pokedexes all over the place, but here's the one (http://www.pokemon.com/Pokedex/flash.asp) I was just using. Only goes up to Pokemon #490.
-
(https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.wikia.com%2Fes.pokemon%2Fimages%2F9%2F96%2FArceus.png&hash=a4045e51f8a720bcac2776206ae3a339)
Look at this jerk Arceus; number 493! I wonder how he feels about being so new and such a jerk.
-
Hey, Arceus isn't a jerk, he can't help it if the only way to get him right now is to hack!
-
Which is more valuable? Something "rare*" that's strong the moment you get it, or something relatively common you spend time and put thought into? Legends subtract one of the main things that keeps Pokémon interesting: customization. Your list of favorites, TK, is just about the most abominably generic and uncreative thing I've ever seen. Don't feel targeted when I say that. Loads of people are just like you. I was, too, a while back. When I'd pay no attention to anything but my starter and legends. When I'd avoid battles. But the sad part is, I'd probably lose to your robotic death squad even if I could somehow get my FireRed team or Ruby team to level 110 (Currently, both are around the late 50s. I have no Lucky Eggs).
*Legendary Pokémon, rare. Feh. Everybody who plays Ruby encounters Groudon. How rare is that? I actually do not have it in my copy because my Castform accidentally KO'd it and I hadn't saved.
-
Actually, it's rare for the noobs who can't catch it. And the rest of the noobs use their Master Ball and can't catch the other legendaries, making it balanced...
-

I would say the first option, and if you want to get technical, Legendaries are harder to level up because their exp curve is larger.
Going back to what I consider "valuable" in a Pokemon game, something with high stats is simply more "valuable" to me than something that has crappy stats.

"IT"S NOT ABOUT POWER, IT'S ABOUT BEEEEELIEEEEVING IN YOUR POKEMON! IT'S ABOUT FRIENDSHIP!"
In all seriousness, though, I'd rather have a Pokemon I've pumped a lot of time into instead of legendaries. Also, I hate the new legendaries. Dialga, Palkia, Darkrai, Giratina, Shaymin...can't stand them. At all.
-
I hate Chimchar, Monferno and Infernape. But I love Charamander and his parallel evolutions. Lizards are supposed to be on fire, not monkeys. Maybe I just love the originals because that's what I experienced as a child.
-
Or because monkeys fling their own excrement. That's my reason for not liking chimchar.
-
I might like him more if he threw flaming excrement. Now that would be a real Pokémon.
-
Well, at level 57, I finally let Mr. Fork, my Combusken, intelligently redesign himself... I'm not happy about that, but he did get a rather large stats boost, and I used the Earthquake TM on him. But now he doesn't look like a chicken and his claws don't resemble forks. :[
-
So who else got Deoxys this weekend?
