Ironically, I hate the weather here in Florida.  A high of 50 today certainly beats the highs in the 20s or lower across the rest of the country, though.

Far better than the previous Project M build, and I'm already liking it a great deal more than original Melee (actual input buffers!) and Brawl.  The level of polish is amazing; most characters have at least one special alternate costume, and the game's packed full of easter eggs like Ness's alternate up-taunt and Kirby's classic down-taunt.  The HUD and character-/stage-selection screens look fantastic, as well; in particular, there's a lot less unnecessary clutter in the former.

Also, it's not hard at all to get it running on Riivolution on any SD card if they've already got that set up.

Are there any throwback levels (like 2-3 and.. I think S1-3 in SM3DL) with 8bit things all over?
I've found the room they showed in one of the trailers with a giant 8-bit Mario, but nothing else yet.  I've only played through the first five worlds, though.  Also, 3D World's ghost-house music is absolutely gorgeous; even better than Ghostly Galaxy's, in my opinion.

On a scale of | to O, how linear is it? Getting it in two days.
Right about Super Mario Bros. 3-level, sans Warp Whistle.  I played through the first five worlds casually with a few friends recently, and I was surprised to find that the levels aren't really associated with the world themes, much like 3D Land's.  Was still a ton of fun, though; those four-player score battles can get pretty hectic quickly, especially when combined with any number of platform gimmicks.

That artwork is to die for.

Japan-only?
As far as I know, it's been announced as a Club Nintendo reward in Japan; wouldn't be surprised if it ended up staying there, as per usual.  I love the return to the classic NES-era artwork style as well.

Do want.  Haven't gotten to play the game, but from what I've heard from the intro cutscene and various trailers, this soundtrack seems absolutely amazing.

About how I expected her to control after hearing the reveal; basically all of Peach's strengths and weaknesses exaggerated further.  I'm still curious as to whether Mario has anything special going for him; it appears that Toad doesn't jump any lower than him, nor Luigi run any slower, thereby making him objectively worse than both.

I at least give credit to MK7 for vastly improving the first placer's pool of available items; you're better off frontrunning in it than in any game since MK64, and certainly better than Mario Kart Wii.

I read a bit of it online a while back; NC was pretty spot-on, in my opinion.

Finally finished this; I'd never sketched the vast majority of these guys before, so it was pretty fun to try them out.  Close seconds included Quilava, Chespin, Goomy, and Ditto.

If you're going for perfect IVs, you've got a ~1/96 chance with those, not counting the ability passdown chance.  Also, I totally forgot about those favorite Pokémon by type memes, I need to sketch one up myself.

Well, perhaps thankfully for competitive battlers, it appears the Hidden Power type calculation remains unchanged from previous generation, since my perfect-IV's Honedge has a Dark-type HP, and most of the rest of my 5-IV Pokémon have Dragon or Ice.  I guess that means Fairy-type HP isn't a thing, then.

No problem, and yeah, I read that all that matters is the pre-evo's location of origin (although breeding sets that location as the region the egg was created in, rather than being passed down from the parents).

On a side note, I love it when random IVs, like the maxed Attack on your Vivillon, decide to persist through breeding even when they're completely unnecessary.  I got five 31/31/31/31/31/x Chespins yesterday while trying to get a 31/31/31/x/31/31.  I ended up keeping one that had IVs of 31/31/31/31/31/28; when I'm not investing any EVs in Speed, it hardly seems worth it to throw away a perfect IV for three extra points, even if I don't end up using SAtk at all.

Also, on another tangent, I love the new Berry Field mechanics; over the course of two days, I turned 3 Lum and 2 Sitrus Berries into 24 Lum, 15 Sitrus, and 3 Tamato Berries with minimal effort.

Hmm.

Anyway, does anyone here live in a region that has "modern" pattern Vivillon? I'm looking for a timid-natured Compoundeyes Scatterbug with 31 IVs in HP, Special Attack, and Speed. I could breed an equivalent polar one, or offer something else entirely.
I have a 31/31/x/31/x/31 Timid Scatterbug w/Compoundeyes for you whenever you want it; I'll take whatever in return.  Will it evolve into a Modern Vivillon on your system if it would on mine, or do I need to evolve it for you?

Huh, I never knew that the "core" Mario games were split between so many development teams, though the divisions make perfect sense.  As much as I liked the earlier Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi series, most of my all-time favorites were EAD1 titles.
