Why can't other game series have as many YAYL moments as the Pokemon series?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that really is a nose on DIGLETT. Look at the shadowing on most official art, and especially side-views in the anime.

Well, honestly, I never seriously thought it was a mouth--it's just a very unnerving way of looking at the way the nose is drawn.

Well, still, there's a bunch of other Pokemon amaze factoids that haven't been debunked. Yet.

My personal favorite (I forget if it's fact or fiction) is the realization that Cubone wears his mother's skull on his head.

That's canonical fact, as confounding as it may be. Such information dictates that all Cubones produce only one offspring before dying, and that two Marowaks are thereby incapable of producing Cubone babies. Also, the fact that Cubones emerge from their eggs already wearing skulls contradicts everything else. Eeughh.

The conflation of individuals with groups as a whole causes a lot of problems when translated from Japanese to English. Like how we get all pedantic over whether a specific Magikoopa is Kamek, or if a specific Toad is "The" Toad, or object to the portrayal of any member of the Birdo species as actually female. Cultural differences are weird.

Impressive, although he should've pulled an Indiana Jones by going back for the shoe.

While I didn't lose, and knew about it before hand (haven't tried it myself yet), that's certainly amazing.
