General Chat / Re: Got any tasty food recepies?

Hehe, I can't resist swapping recipes, I'm such a loser....^_^

Cheese biscuits

Pyra's prized recipe, known to make people want to adopt her. Using more cheese makes the biscuits crispy on the outside. Chopped ham can be added, if desired.

-2 cups flour
-4 teaspoons baking powder
-1/2 teaspoon salt
-1 tablespoon oregano
-3 tablespoons parsley
-1/4 cup butter or margerine
-1 egg
-1 cup shredded cheese (ideally Cheddar)
-1 cup milk

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Mix the flour, baking powder and spices. Cut in the butter until the mixture looks like coarse breadcrumbs. Stir in the egg, then the cheese. Slowly stir in the milk until there's no dry flour left at the bottom of the bowl (you might not need all of the milk). Place large spoonfuls of the dough on a greased baking sheet with plenty of space in between, makes 10-12. Bake for 10-15 minutes, until the little bumps on the bisuits start turning brown.

I'd like to see a Nintendo version of Kingdom Hearts, basically a fanfiction author's dream come true. Imagine Mario fighting alongside such Nintendo greats as Link and Kirby and Fox? It'd rock! It'd be kinda like SSBM, except RPGified. And another good RPG never hurt a fandom.

I think the whole dynamic just needs a few more screechy fans who don't mind taking the kiddy route. Take me for example; thanks to my random "Play this game, it rocks and I won't stop whining until I have someone to talk about it with!" rants, the people I associate with play the GTA series AND Mario Sunshine. All breeds of gamer can live in harmony, with a little effort. And you know, maybe this new generation needs us old-timers to teach them the ways. It's a shame we can't just plant ourselves in malls with NESes and SNESes, huh?

If Nintendo wants to support their online service, all they have to do is make SSBM compatible. I and a whole bunch of other people would buy in just for that.

I dunno, 2-D sidescrollers on 3-D platforms tend to disappoint people. Just look at Kirby 64 and Yoshi's Story, the main complaints for those is that you can't explore the purdy 3-D environment. I dunno, I think 2-D and 3-D are both fun in their own ways, and it's super-hard to effectively blend them.

Hehe, reminds me of a recent discussion. Even if Bill Gates isn't directly involved, Microsoft can probably afford to support a lagging console until they get some decent third-party developers. The Xbox could be supported on Bill Gates' lunch money. Heck, you could dig around in Bill Gates' couch and probably find enough to support the Xbox. Well, hopefully Xbox will make some really lame games that'll turn off the public to them.

I used to hold my pencil differently, but my teachers forced me to stop that. Maybe 100 years from now, people will all hold their pencils differently and it'll be considered barbaric to try changing that. Just a thought.

Well, I just thought they were shiny...She's more or less a legendary creature, right? Big special birds are supposed to be shiny.

Hey, that's good news! I'm just wondering what the Pikmin sequel will be about, since rehashing the "stranded" plotline would suck a lot.

Speaking of plotlines, I REALLY hope Mario 128 isn't another basic "rescue Peachie from Bowser"...0_o

I think so...I have noticed that people's favourites seem to fall into either the NES/N64 or the SNES/GCN category. Someone who believes that M64 is the greatest game ever is quite likely, in my experience, to argue to the bitter end with anyone who disses SMB. And my faves are from the SNES and GCN, there isn't a whole lot on the NES or N64 that I'm crazy about. I say M64 is good, but not the mind-numbing and all-powerful good that a lot of people would have you believe. *waits for the horrified gasping to die down* Mind you, diss SMRPG or Sunshine, and I'll likely pick a hissy catfight. I can't imagine why favourites fall like this, but oh well.

Maybe "cool" isn't the right word to describe the NES...Maybe something more like...um...*leafs through her thesaurus*...satisfactory?

I haven't heard anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if Yoshi gets a Gamecube game in the near future.
