After having been rated by ESRB and removed, being in the top five Nintendo Power readers' most wanted for five months running, and releasing in all other territories, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (http://themushroomkingdom.net/games/smrpg-vc) finally hits the Virtual Console in North America for 800 Wii Points. Super Mario RPG marks the 250th game for the Virtual Console.

Amen to that, brutha (or sistah).
-
It just arrived in Canada about a hour ago
-
Finally. Now all the fanboys will shut up.
Yeah, I'm exaggerating. :P Still nice to see it on the Virtual Console.
-
I want to get it, but I'll wait.
-
I tried it. Got far enough just so I could hear the famous Toad-Door Comment, and I saved the game.
Great game. If you haven't already, GET IT!!!
-
I'm getting this right now.
-
Finally. Now, I can be jealous of the other people who have it (Not enough Wii Points, :( )
-
Amen to that, brutha (or sistah).
Brutha, not sistah. lol.
-
While just finishing the original and not impressed with the parade style ending, I'm actually liking the fact that this game is now available on the VC.
-
Finally. I'm going to buy it within the hour.

I heard the reason why North America still doesn't have SMRPG is due to how successful the Wii is here. The classics are meant to support the Wii, support which it apparently needs in Japan and Europe. Due to ludicrous demand here for the Wii, however, NOA isn't quite as motivated to release the highly anticipated games here as quickly as they are being released elsewhere.
Well, looks like I was wrong.

GREAT! 250 GAMES MORE AND WE WILL GET ERFBAUN
-
Isn't it URFBWND?

GREAT! 250 GAMES MORE AND WE WILL GET ERFBAUN
XD That was funny.
-
I own the original game, so the only reason I really cared if it showed up is just because I think Nintendo really needs to respect that game more (or whatever you call it when you, you know, acknowledge the existance of something).

Good news: For me, nothing, but for everyone who has not played it, it's a good game, have fun with it.
Bad news: A new batch of "G-no is teh best need moar of him in samsh brothers!!" Pay no attention to his soulless lack of character development or background information--he's seriously really cool, not in the least bit predictable or cliche and really does deserve it.
-
Well, I got it yesterday and played until about midnight. I haven't done that since I beat Kingdom Hearts. Do I like it better than KH? I will never like a game better than KH. Is it fun and a great way to spend $8? Heck yeah.
-
I've never played Kingdom Hearts. I always assumed it was dumb because it had disney characters in it. Maybe I should try it.
-
All I really noticed about Kingdom Hearts was how horrendously repetitious the music was. And that's really odd.

Couldn't have summed up my feelings better. SMRPG is good, just not that good - and Geno isn't good at all. :)
-
I'm confused.

I used to think that... about SMRPG! XD XD XD

That's the only reason to play it. But they'll never make up for not having a Cobra Jafar boss battle.
-
It's about time!
.. ironically, though, I have been playing the game on my wife's sister's Snes whenever we go to her mom's. They like to watch people play games, and I like to play games.
They know other game systems exist, but they have never been one to buy newer systems. In fact, they would probably still just have the Snes if the girls didn't all grow up and get boy friends.
-
Well SNES is still pretty much the best.
-
He speaks the truth!
-
Lies, I tell you! Game.com is best, and you kids are too young to remember it!

YES!!! I'm taking my wii home this weekend for sure!
-
Am I the only one here that still did not download SMRPG?
-
I haven't.
I sort of look forward to downloading it... eventually. As much as I like RPGs, I don't feel like buying this one as much as most of the people here apparently. I probably will buy it before next year, because I am interested in playing it.
-
Am I the only one here that still did not download SMRPG?
No. I haven't either, because I already own the actual cartridge, and because I don't have a Wii.
-
I don't even really remember how I came into possession of that game, but yes, I do have the original, and therefore have no real intention of buying it again.
-
I have a cart, and my SNES is more reliable than my N64.
-
How is your N64's reliability related to your Wii?
-
I have the original, but plan on downloading this anyway, because while my Snes does work, we are using the AC adaptor from it to power the speakers on our computer.
I wish that all of Nintend's systems had a universal AC adaptor, the same size as the one on the N64..
-
D:
Yeah, the worst one sure is the best and most desirable!
-
I meant the size of the plug side, the part that plugs into your wall and is the same size as the one that plugs, say, a lamp into the wall. I wish they were all that size.
-
Eh, both types have their ups and downs. The N64 one saves plug real estate. The NES/SNES one organizes itself automatically by attaching the bulk of its mass to the wall, right there under the outlet.
Anyway, the official SMRPG Virtual Console page (http://www.nintendo.com/wii/virtualconsole/games/detail/pp_F6yvh6eBcb69y1cWuUehbkF_UefwC) is now open.
-
How is your N64's reliability related to your Wii?
My Wii is going in for the third time (first, stopped reading all games, then would not read Brawl, stopped reading Brawl once again). So it's kind of frail. My 64 just resets itself over and over sometimes, taking the game out and reinserting it usually solves that. Sometimes the colors bug out and go blank, and I don't think this is an AV cable problem because I've used the same cables with GameCubes and the SNES before and it only happens to the 64. Otherwise it's not in bad condition. The best-working console I have, though, is my GameCube. The non-broken one.

I bought it! Now what should I spend the remaining 1300 on...?
-
I bought it! Now what should I spend the remaining 1300 on...?
Buy it again because it's so awesome.
-
You could buy it for me, but I wouldn't get it, because I won't have an internet connection until Thanksgiving.
-
Buy it from another region!
-
Buy a SNES game and a NES game.
-
Buy a bullet and rent a gun?
-
If you buy the European version, the Battle buttons are different colors, even Bowyer's XYZ arrow shot and disable button things are. BTW the name Bowyer is in form of Bowser.
-
Sorry, but you have no clue what you're talking about (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowyer).
Also, the buttons are the colors of the buttons on the controller.
