New laptop seems to be working well, though I've lost my bookmarks, and the contents of a certain hidden folder.

I hate it when I lose AppData, too.

Just contact the NSA.  I'm sure they have a backup.

Package from Japan came in today:

Puyo Puyo x Tetris gummi candy, Kit Kats, LASERREIMU, and Japanese copies of Super Castlevania IV, Kirby Super Star, and Super Metroid.

Cool! I'm especially jelly of your Japanese Super Castlevania IV, I hear the Japanese version of that game is better because it's uncensored and the whip sound is cooler.

Also, Homestar Runner updated on Tuesday.

Disregarding any content differences between versions, the Japanese version of Super Castlevania IV is better than the US version because it doesn't cost $35 for a bare cartridge.

I'm afraid to open the package, because the pieces might match and clear before I get to eat them.

I picked up some Genesis carts on the cheap: Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic & Knuckles, and Aladdin. Fortunately, Genesis games have the opposite of the problem I deal with when buying SNES stuff: outside of some odd cases (mostly JRPGs), US carts are the cheap ones, while JP carts can get expensive (and require extra hardware to circumvent the region lock).

How are the green tea KitKats?  I've considered ordering some green tea chocolate, but the shipping was too much.  Now that one of my brothers lives in Japan I may just ask him to ship me some if they are good.

I tried one just now to answer your question. The first finger didn't taste like much of anything, but the second was very much "green tea," so, uh, if you like green tea, they might be worth trying. (Note that none of the weird Japanese Kit Kat flavors actually have chocolate in them unless they're specifically labeled as such.)

Had another package arrive today, containing my limited-edition copy of the English release of mega-popular all-ages sci-fi visual novel Steins;Gate.

With English vocals, I wonder? It occurs to me that the ever frequent fu--hahas would be difficult to reenact.
