Title: The First Post Topic
Post by: Toad on January 28, 2008, 06:04:02 PM
Here in this topic, you link to your first post and possibly talk about what your first post was about (if you recall why/what it was about).

Here is mine, I think..

I think it's ok that he's limited in the 3D games. It's more of a throw back to his earlier adventures.

It was in a topic about if people like how limited Mario is in his moves (punches/kicks) in the 3D games versus all the moves he could do in the 2D games (fly, throw fireballs, pluck enemies from the ground and hurl them at other enemies..)

Also which flying power-up was cooler the cape-giving feather of SMW or the Tanooki suit(or racoon suit to the lay-man)of SM3

Mario is overrated Luigi rules all!!

The download section here has a good selection of Mario MIDIs, but is missing some things.
Specifically, I'm looking for a SMW ghost-house MIDI.  Would anyone know where to find it/be able to make a decent version of it? Any attempt would be appreciated.

Oh, and if you don't think you've seen me here before, it's because you haven't.

Yup... lookin' for a ghost house MIDI.

No they move there later but too early to remember that they went to Yoshi's Island, or the Mushroom Kingdom.

According to times and dates this is my first post, it also looks about right... I must have really been into Mario theories... ugh.

Poor me. In retrospect, I was such an awful newbie.

Heres the deal.
Can anyone play a song with the telephone? If you can give the numbers.
Mad props to anyone who can play a song that I like.

I started that topic, which is pretty self-explanatory. Fifth was the only responder.

Strangely enough, I remember joining in November of 2003. In fact, I am 100% sure that I did. Apparently the "latest posts of this person" option does not function properly.

It's about time I joined this battle. I've got all my missions and Staff Ghosts beaten, triple-starred and whatnot... all i need to take care of now is the Mirror Class GPs. i'll get my pics on here as soon as i can figure out how to make them smaller. I'm all over that grand prize. =P
I thought I was hot stuff.

I loved when you tattle on a goomba in PMTTYD and goombella reads something about goombas not being very bright, and she got kinda annoyed. That was hilarious.
I think this is quite self-explanatory.

Hmm. I wonder why so many people make the URL so small... I mean, if someone wanted go directly to TMK without having to go to the affiliate first, they would want to use the URL! In other words, the URL should be legible, don't you think?

My question was never answered. I didn't win the contest, either, but I gave it my best shot! At that time, my software choices were... limited. By the way, I never knew people didn't use punctuation and whatnot on forums. Was I so noobish that I was an antinoob?

I've surfed this site for a long time, so I figured... why not join?

...Ok, fine, the other forum I'm on is going down the tubes. But this still seems like a nifty e-haunt!

The forum in question was Nintendomain, a now-defunct Nintendo-fan website whose members I described on some other thread. Now, my first first post (on FlashPlayer)... geez. I can't remember what it was, and I'm hardly inclined to find out.

For a long time, I have visited TMK and read the contents of these forums. I have wanted to say something a few times, but have never registered so that I could. I would have registered earlier had I noticed this topic. I am the type of person who will read more than post, and would rather reply to topics instead of starting them. (At least this means that I won't really mind the restriction on new members starting topics...)

You will most likely find me here in General Chat or  in General Mario Chat.

My first actual post here had my AC:WW information in it. Interestingly, AC:WW is what got me to finally join the FF.

Not quite sure what you mean, but SMAS+SMW was released with certain SNES systems shortly after they started packaging both carts with the system.  It's basically SMAS, but it has the 5th game in the menu, which is SMW.

Is it just me, or are there actually 21 red coins in Level Extra 3 of Yoshis island? I could have sworn that I heard the noise indicating that I had gotten all 20 red coins in the level twice, once after getting each of the red coins carried by the hovering shy guys on the goal platform. I also thought I had 19 coins before that platform....

I am not crazy (that may be hard to prove); I have 100's on every level without a guide, and have already gotten my 100 on that level when i noticed this. Either way, The game only credits you for 100 points.

Can someone tell me whether this thought is true? BTW If someone posted this i am sorry, but this is my very first post here....

(PS, special thanks to whoever found that glitch in world 2-7... It is the coolest things i have seen in the game to date!)

*My real signature went on strike, said something about "unfair working conditions". So, this is a temporary replacement sig, until I can work things out with the real sig.

Hey all you peoples, do ya realize that there's only 26 days to the release of SMS? (In the US, that is.) I'm about tired of waiting, myself...

I don't have a signature.

Post your ideas for non-platformer Mario games here. Please, no platformer suggestions (i.e., "A Mario game where you run on platforms and jump on enemies) and no existing games (i.e., Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart, etc.).

Ooh, wow. "No platformer seuggestions"? "No existing games"? Not only was I a n00b, I was a pretty patronizing one, too.

One day when I was sufring the internet, (for no apparant reason,) I stumbled opon a game called Asterix & Oblelix XXL2: Mission Las Vegum. I downloaded it because it featured a picture of mario from SMS as a screenshot, but once I downloaded it, your object was to beat the living c*** out of Mario and other enemies. There were more eneimies from different games, but considering this, wouldn't that be against copyright laws? I love the game despite the fact that you have to kill nintendo charicters from nintendo's past, but they really have gone too far.

Metal Slug and Mario is so cool
Yes. That was my first post. Apparently I found this game called Asterix and Obelix XXL 2 Mission Las Vegum and because you seemed to beat up specific Nintendo Characters, I started a topic about it. It didn't have a lot of back up information, so it kind of phailed. And what the heck is with those signatures? I don't remember typing them like that at every post!

(walks in bar) (sits on the stool) I'll have some Jammin' Jelly with toast

I believe I was talking about a Mario MMO RPG. I still think it would be a good idea to this day. But Im not sure if it would ever happen.

If you look at the patent for the Virtual Console, one of the drawings specifically mentions Mario RPG. That's pretty encouraging, especially with Nintendo and Square getting back together again. It's also been rumored for a while now that you'll be able to download VC games to a DS. Ideally, there'd be some way to save it onto a blank cartridge or something, but I doubt it. Still, there's a pretty good chance you'll be able to play SMRPG on a DS before too long, and I've seen SNESs on eBay for more than the $330 for a Wii and DS.

...And it's still not on the Virtual Console. And it's also still impossible to emulate SMRPG on the DS ourselves. Or so I hear.

Systems get cheap when they're almost dead. Then they get rare and expensive. Or not. SNES is leaning toward the "rare" side though. I was talking about a garage sale in the present, not the past.

"This is where you tell about the first time you ever beat a video game.  You can say how good it felt. Unless it was a lousy ending.
The first Mario game I ever beat was Super Mario World. I like doing that code that makes Mario walk like a drunken guy."

xbox fears Mariomania, Brother!

Yes, I found it.  Boy do I sound like a little kid..."I like doing that code that makes Mario walk like a drunken guy."  Also, this whole post is as generic as it gets.  Oh, and about the signature...I was a huge fan of wrestling up until last year, when I got too busy to watch.  I had all sorts of Mario/wrestling sigs: "Mario Mania will live forever," "Mariomania is still runnin' wild," "Whatcha gonna do, Bowser, when Mariomania runs wild on you?" and so on and so forth.  And it's a wonder how I never made Mario into a Hulk Hogan like figure in my SSB: WWE Style story.

Actually, this is my first post, in a thread following the announcement of the GBA SP:

I got a worm light too. It burned out in a few months. Just wait till around December, when it should be around $50, and see if the store'll let you trade. It'll be a lot cheaper than buying 3 worm lights a year.

"Who says cat hair is hard to vacuum? Course, it helps if it's still on the cat"

I joined, made one post, forgot my password, and didn't re-register with this account until 3 1/2 years later. Don't remember where I got that sig from.

Not that it was that long ago, but:

Hello!  I'm Turtlekid1 (as indicated by my username :P).  Before the name generates any misunderstandings, Turtlekid has been my nickname since before I played Mario games; I actually like Mario better than any koopa. I'm sure I'll enjoy being here!

PS: I enjoy video games and slightly overcooked lasagna (just another coincidence, I swear).

Am I the only one whose first post was in the introduction thread?  Or am I just a n00b?

People, here's the deal. When you perorder Super Mario Galaxy, you go to the store to pick it up (duh). If you preordered it before they said you get the free coin, you still get the free coin. And you pick it up with the game. If your having it delivered to your house (like myself) then I don't know.

This I remember posting and I think it was the only reason why I joined. I had been going here for a WHILE! And then I found the forums. It was actually not that noobish then I thought it would be.

When I joined, I just acted like I'd always been here.

The great thing about the graphics is this: The characters are supposed to be flat, so there's not a possibility of the polygon-ness. Plus, I loved the battle music. I thought the only thinbg missing from the original Paper Mario was a little yoshi as a partner. There you go!

I was pretty stupid back then, not so much in grammar neglect as much as just overall twelve/thirteenishness, having been prepubescent and all. I might even be pretty stupid right now. You don't know these things unless someone tells you.
