Red Star is the best flying power-up. It's a 3-D P-Wing. If only it had actually been used.

I remember watching something once about this one plant whose seeds actually had little legs (just one leg, I think), and instead of having the wind scatter the seeds, they could slowly pull themselves, like clams or oysters. So walking plants are somewhat in the realm of possibility. I think Venus Flytraps are creepy enough, personally.

I remember playing that demo of Superstar Saga. Your HP (and possibly BP, though I can't remember) was replenished when you leveled up, like in SMRPG, and it ended after the first screen of Hoohoo Mountain, iirc.

Not really. The gameplay would be a little more similar to Donkey Kong Country, with Mario and Luigi as _____ Kong and ____ Kong, and it would be a little more RPGish than SPM. And it would be on Wii.

I'd like to see a Mario & Luigi game on the Wii. I had an idea a while ago for one kind of like SPM, more action-oriented and similar to the Donkey Kong Country games, but still with RPG elements. And with 3D graphics, but side-scrolling. But still in 3D, kind of like Viewtiful Joe. And if there's a hub world, that should probably be in 3D, because Flipside was unnecessarily complicated.

Don't think anyone's said Tales of Symphonia yet. It's pretty awesome, even if it's not GCN exclusive anymore.

Super Mario Universe would be a good name for an MMO. And a Mario MMO could be awesome in an alternate universe where Nintendo would make it.

Six and a half years ago, I entered the eighth grade. I had one crush for a while, which is another story, but by about four years ago, I settled on another, much better girl. We ended up going to the same college, and I finally worked up the courage to ask her out, about a year ago, to a dance. Turns out she had already made plans to go, with her boyfriend. Her boyfriend whom she met no more than three months ago. Now, they're still together, and her boyfriend is my RA.

But that's just the background frustration. The main issue is my own room. For the last month or two, I had really been looking forward to next semester, as my roommate was planning to transfer after this one. It's nothing against him... okay, a few things, but the main thing is just that I think I would be a lot more productive without roommates. No, we don't have constant parties, rather, I simply don't do anything. It's just this weird thing I have that I can't get any work done with a roommate around. Admittedly, my laziness comes into play significantly, but I think what's more prevalent is the knowledge and/or misguided notion that anything noticeable I do will lead a roommate to make some comment or query, and I will be forced, by the universe's laws of awkwardness, to respond meaningfully, taking away vital thought processes. Also, more often than not, I know/misguidedly believe that said comment will have at least some measure of condescension (typically more toward the activity than toward me, but I identify with my activities enough to take offense either way). And so I always opt for sitting at my laptop, which looks normal/consistent enough to avoid eliciting any remarks most of the time. I'm not really anti-social, just jaded.

Well anyway, it turns out that my roommate is staying here another semester. And the semester after that, when he does leave, is the semester that I'm living on a different campus. So I don't even get a shot at a room to myself until a year from now, when I'll be halfway through my junior year and too stressed out about the fact that I have no marketable job skills to pay off my $72,000 debt to enjoy the single that I may or may not have. Oh, and did I mention that another guy on the floor wants to move into our room next semester? Never mind that we tried having three roommates at the beginning of this semester, up until we realized that the majority of the extra room space required for a room to be a triple apparently went to having a really high ceiling, and the guy moved out.

So this means no wall for my posters (the wall I get is mostly taken up by the bunk bed, and if we move that, there's no floor), no anytime showers (I'm still uncomfortable with nudity), no getting the slightly better wired internet connection (Last year, the wi-fi was good enough to share it with the Nintendo WFC adapter, which is good, because the internet connection here requires an actual computer. On this floor, however, there apparently are far fewer hotspots, and they sometimes appear to turn them all off at night. The wired connection is a little better, but my roommate's computer can't do wi-fi, so either I continue using this connection, or one of us pays $50 for some kind of solution that neither of us will ever use again. This means it will take significantly longer for my torrents of every MST3K episode to finish.), no doing whatever I want with the TV (because I'm not assertive enough to not feel awkward), no having the temperature where I want it (he apparently needs it where it is for medical reasons), no not using headphones (even if I could make myself realize he doesn't mind, I don't want him to hear some of the stuff I'm listening to, especially if it will elicit remarks that oblige in-depth responses), no filming myself reenacting the cutscenes from Sonic Adventure 2 like I had planned, and basically, nowhere in the entire state (I live in a different state) where I can go for privacy (don't pervertedly misconstrue that).

And there was something else, but I forgot it. So yeah. Angst. I has it.

Getting back to the topic again, I'm very hesitant about having SM64DS-style unlockable characters. At least 70% of the fun of SM64 came from the complete freedom it offered, and for me, SM64DS completely took that away by splitting up abilities among 4 characters that have to be switched between. Even when all the levels have hats, you still can't just go around as Yoshi the whole time - what if you want to do a wall kick in the castle? Then you have to walk over to the Secret Slide room, walk through the character door, and walk back to where you were. No spontaneity.

If it was like Galaxy, where the optional unlockable character gives a different playing experience but can still do everything, I'd be all for that. Although I might want a more different playing experience if I had to get 120 stars again for each character.

I see it as a graph, which I can hopefully make with ASCII.
. E                                           ^ y
                                              |
                                              |
                                              |
                                              |
                                              |
<                                            |                                              > x
                                              |
                                              |
                                              |                                                      . B
   . D                                       |
                                              |
                                              |
                                             \/                                    . A
                                              . C

The x-axis represents entertainment value (right is more, left is less), and the y-axis represents how well the movie achieves its intended effect (up is more, down is less).

Point A is Plan 9 from Outer Space. Intended to be a serious drama/social commentary, the horrible acting and production values make it impossible to evoke any seriousness. In so doing, it becomes one of the greatest comedies ever.

Point B, Future War, may actually have worse production values and acting than Plan 9, bolstered by the lack of any coherence in the plot (In the words of Mike Nelson, it's more like movie loaf: parts of real movie, chunked and formed), and becomes the funniest failure at a real movie I've seen so far. However, it didn't fail in its purpose as much as Plan 9 did: the producer remarked on set that he hoped the movie would show up on MST3K, and so, while their hopes of creating a watchable, profitable action flick were not to be, at least one intended effect was.

Point C is 'Manos' The Hands of Fate. Hal Warren meant to show that a fertilizer salesman with $19,000 could make a profitable horror film. He was successful up until the word "could." It made no money, had no horror, and led Hal Warren to kill himself. This time, the ludicrously poor production values (such as all the lines being dubbed in by the same two people) can't save the movie from itself, and even with the MST3K crew riffing it, it becomes difficult to stay awake.

However, 'Manos' only brought us to 0 entertainment. Point D, Home Alone 4, takes us deep into the negatives, as do most crappy attempts at comedy. This one, however, loses even more points for completely disgracing a good comedy. Rather than just failing at making you like it, it seems to be intentionally trying to make you hate it. If that was the intended effect, then they did a great job, but assuming that their purpose was to make a movie deserving of the Home Alone name, they failed horribly. This makes Home Alone 3 look like Shawshank (as opposed to feeling like being in the actual Shawshank prison, which would be a relief compared to HA4).

Finally, Point E is Hobgoblins. This film's intended purpose seems to be to make the sleaziest, basest, stupidest rip-off of Gremlins ever, with plenty of celebrations of sluttiness and shallowness thrown in to boot. That was a rousing success (no pun intended), and because of this, it is one of the most unwatchable films ever.

This should actually be a 3D graph, where the Z-axis represents the amount of meta-entertainment. (i.e., the Land Before Time films aren't entertaining in and of themselves, but the fact that there's over a dozen of them is.)

Disney also owns Touchstone, Miramax, and Soap Net, and has governmental authority over three cities in Florida.

Their assets also include everything else in the world.

I want to know what happened to Marionette. The one everyone forgot about when we found out it wasn't about Mario, but was actually a game with marionettes. Was it actually released, or is it just hanging out with Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball and Project Hammer?

Pretty impressive, and more entertaining to watch than the 1-star run, especially by cutting out Dry Dry Docks. Now, if only they could find another 48 seconds to shave off, they'd get the time below the SMB time.
