Can this game communicate with the second game (March of the Minis)?

Game Help / Metroid Other M
« on: January 04, 2011, 09:54:20 PM »
I finished the story boss and decided to go back and collect all the items I missed. I think I'm stuck though. I have two items left, both in the Main Sector.

One item is in an elevator room close to the hallway that leads to the optional boss, and the other item is in a room close to the room the game is telling me to go to.

Game Help / WarioWare DIY Scripting
« on: October 04, 2010, 11:14:30 PM »
Anybody still play this game, and/or know enough to help me?

Say I have a game where Mario jumped and hit a box to get coins (really similar to a game in Smooth Moves. Same basic concept: poke Mario with the stylus to jump instead of flinging the Wiimote around).

I realise the game itself has tutorials, but I am not for sure what is missing. All objects have actions, all switches are turned on (as far as I can tell), and I set the Winning Conditions too. But somehow, I always lose the game during the test run, either because Mario doesn't respond to the stylus, or doesn't stop moving upwards at the box.

I've heard the Maridia area in this game is supposed to be the Tourian from the first Metroid game. I never played the first Metroid so I have nothing to compare it to..

Anybody know if that's true?

Game Help / Metroid Prime Omega Pirate
« on: August 22, 2010, 09:18:30 AM »
I think that's the right name. Anyway, I need some help with the Omega Pirate. I can't seem to finish him off. I know not to fire any beams at him when he's using the.. arm suction, and the Pirates that he summon just seem to get in the way (sorta what they do, I know).

I have 160 missles, several energy tanks (I forget how many exactly) and all the normal upgrades you should have at this point. The only beam/missle combos that I have right now are the Super Misslies (which I've found to be pretty effective against him, but the pirates get in the way..) and the Wavebeam/missle combo.

Any tips, or is there anyway to make the battle easier?

Mario Chat / Mario Sports Mix
« on: June 16, 2010, 07:40:40 PM »
Can't believe there wasn't a topic about this one yet!

Again, no screenshots, just the press release.

Four great sports make their move to the Mushroom Kingdom: volleyball, basketball, ice hockey and dodgeball. All four are included on one game disc - a great value for Mario™ fans, sports fans and everyone in between.

Features:

The cast of Mushroom Kingdom characters get together to play sports - Mario style. While the basic rules of the games apply, each one includes some magical Mario twists like coins and special items that ramp up the craziness and fun.

While playing, gathering coins will build up bonus points. So when players score a point or basket, they also get the added bonus.
Players collect items like a Koopa Shell to use against their opponents. They can even use special items to beat up on the other team while shooting or spiking. One example of a special ball move is using a Mini Mushroom to shrink the ball before it's returned to the other side of the volleyball net.

Each character has a signature move that's almost impossible for opponents to stop. These include Mario's fireball moves or Princess Peach's heart-filled attacks.

In the field of play, a variety of tricks will keep players on their toes. On DK Dock, the volleyball court will continually slide to the left and right. On Bowser Jr. Blvd, the basketball court has bonus circles that frequently appear, offering both positive and negative bonuses that result in extreme point swings.

In each sport, play with up to three players cooperatively or with up to four players competitively in a two-on-two match (additional accessories required and are sold separately).

Video Game Chat / Kid Icarus Uprising
« on: June 16, 2010, 02:51:14 PM »
(I don't know how to do that fancy thing where you copy the images, but here's the press release copy/paste..)

Features:

Kid Icarus: Uprising is a fast-paced and action-packed blend of aerial and ground-based shooting built on elegantly intuitive and streamlined play control. Boasting game play that is easy to pick up but incredibly deep, the game is sure to satisfy novice gamers as well as fans who have been clamoring for a new installment in the franchise.

The hero, Pit, teams up with Palutena, the goddess of light, who bestows on him the miracle of flight for limited stretches. With this gift, Pit soars through skies, shooting down swarms of enemies along the way, before finally setting down and engaging in frantic ground-based battles against Medusa's underworld army.

Kid Icarus was originally released for the Nintendo Entertainment System™ in 1987, and gamers have been clamoring for a new game in the series for years. Kid Icarus: Uprising is the first installment in 20 years and brings the popular Pit character to life in an action-packed game.

Site Discussion / Site Specials

The recent story about the Mario Kart 64 special being redone made me think about another special involving the Mario Kart series that could be done.

How about one that details how a course changes when it's in another game? ie: Super Circuit had all 20 courses from SMK, but they weren't exact copies: coins were moved around, objects taken out, etc..

Game Help / Mario Kart Wii Staff Ghosts
« on: May 28, 2010, 03:29:47 PM »
In my efforts to unlock some characters and vehicles in MKW, I found that I have to win against the staff ghosts again. The first one to give me trouble is the one in Mushroom Gorge. I just can't seem to beat it.

Any advice? It should be noted that I like to use small characters (like Toad) though I am ok with heavy characters (or, more specifically, the Wario Bike and the Pirahna Prowler).

Is there a way to get my grass back in ACCF without cheating? I consider time travelling cheating.

I was thinking though: I have an SD card and an SD card reader. Is there not some way I can put my town on the computer and get my grass back that way? If it involves less than legitimate means, then nevermind.. I just got my Wii back into working order (sent it to Nintendo for a repair).

Game Help / Wii Freezing Issues
« on: March 19, 2010, 11:16:27 AM »
My Wii freezes sometimes when trying to access a game or a channel. I also recieved my first error message last night ("Cannot access Mii Channel or Mii data. Check Mii Channel..") Now when I try to check the Mii Channel, it just goes to a blank screen, and I have to unplug the Wii to get it to work.

I've had trouble like this before shortly after getting Super Paper Mario: sometimes after clicking the Start button on the Wii menu, it would go to a blank screen (like usual), and the system would make noise like it was reading the disk (also normal), but then it would jump back to the Wii menu and take a few more seconds to read the disk again. Only sometimes with other games (namely Animal Crossing, sometimes with Mario Kart).

Currently, I can't access the Mii Channel (I haven't tried any games with Mii recognition..) I've tried updating the Wii, and I don't hack or mod.

Does anyone know what's going on or what I need to do?

Video Game Chat / Animal Crossing Patterns
« on: January 16, 2010, 02:11:23 PM »
Are you good at making designs? Do you have a favorite that you want to share? Post pictures (or give directions on how to make it) here. :)

To make a real Toad pattern, go to the Ables' and make a Pro design. The one in the picture is the front. To make the back, just turn the tan colored section above blue. For the sleeves, those should be just solid tan.

Game Help / Mirc Scripts
« on: January 10, 2010, 08:22:47 PM »
I know it isn't a game, but anyway..

Can someone help with writing scripts for Mirc? I got some help from Waddle_Doo, but after he logs out, the script no longer works. I want to make something that will work when I'm on, since I only log out when my computer needs a reboot or bad weather (that way everyone can have fun with it).

Those in #TMK know there's only about six lines in it right now. I'll add more to it once I have a better idea what I'm doing.

Game Help / RollerCoaster Tycoon again
« on: December 10, 2009, 12:39:39 PM »
Every once in a great while, my game will open in a window instead of opening and adjusting to the monitor's display (like it  usually does). When I try to change the settings in-game (Run in 480x860, etc..) it won't even adjust to that size and go back to what it thinks is the default size, the play in  a window size.

Anybody know how to fix this?
