Mario Chat / Re: The origin of Mario enemies...
« on: December 21, 2001, 10:06:19 AM »
After playing Yoshi's Island I came up with the idea that there are two forms of life in Mario's World.

Natural birth and Magical birth
All life originates form the dream like world visited in smb2 know as Sub-Con.

Natural birth occurs when a life or soul departs from Sub-Con to travel Star Road, the palace where wishes are granted, and eventually carried off by a stork (as in Yoshi's Island) to their new family or place in life.
Mario, the mushroom people, almost everything from friend to foe alike originate from natural birth.

Magical birth is when life is summoned to an inanimate object, this pulls directly form Sub-Con without the travel that occurs for natural birth.
Summoning life can be done by someone with magical power like Kamek or Smithy.
Shyguys and elemental enemies are good examples of magical birth.
Boos and other super natural enemies might be the result of magical birth, but unlike most magical birth they are not summoned into a physical form. However the super natural in Mario's World may be similar to how we think of the super natural and thus have little to nothing to do with magical birth, I’m undecided on this.

Well Real Audio files do come in a ram format that is fully downloadable, maybe Matt or whoever would give TMK the commercial in that format

I would say that Yoshi's Safari is as close thing to a 3D game as the Hammer Bros. are going to be in. I say that because one of the most annoying things about using 3rd person perspective in a 3d game is trying to avoid projectiles.

Yoshi's Safari was a good portal of the types of Hammer Bros. in SMB3, but I wish they had included the Fire Bros.

Catherine? Catherine! It's Catherine!

I am so happy to see that in Japan they decided to bring back the good birdo form Wario's Woods. I was hoping they would name him/her that when I saw a birdo was added to Mario Tennis.

WOOOOO! Mario continuity!

Mario Chat / was the feather power-up a bad idea?
« on: November 27, 2001, 08:07:35 PM »
In Super Mario World the feather power-up can let you float over an entire level.

Do you think this takes the challenge out of the game?

Mario Chat / Did those Mario Adventure books give you nightmares?
« on: October 14, 2001, 03:10:22 PM »
Seeing the Choose Your Own Adventure books in the Mario Mania section reminded me how creepy they were.

Clones, who didn’t know they were clones, made out of sand
Huge Mixers that fused people and monsters together, in one ending Mario and Luigi become a two head monster
When Mario dies it’s usually a gruesome death

I know there’s more but I don’t want to think about it too much

In Yoshi's Safari there are some high qulty sprites of a Hammer (stage 1), Boomerang(stage 2), and Sledge (stage 5) Bro.

Or are you looking for some official drawings?
