I was playing Super Mario Strikers recently and I've seen something disturbing involving the characters.

Waluigi is...

Mario is mad...

Yeah, I know that this was developed by NLG, but it looks weird and creepy.

It's just a hand gesture, which can be different for some parts of the world.

So when Waluigi makes a hand gesture that says suck it, the game should automatically get an M rating where in Paper Mario, where there's some implied questionable content, it shouldn't?
As a game that requires six friends, an HDTV, and skill, I can see why the majority of TMK is going to hate on it hard.

The E10+ is still exaggerating.

As I said before, it's JUST a hand gesture. This is no different from Bowser in SMRPG.

The only hand gesture that should actually be considered rude (in the U.S., at least) is the middle finger.

I don't understand it, simple hand gestures considered RUDE?

Next thing you know, drinking tea while holding your pinkies up is considered a way to show the middle finger.

In some Mediterranean countries, the "ok" sign is the equivalent of the middle finger.

In Italy (Or, at least Italy several hundreds of years ago), making a fist and sticking the thumb in between the index and middle fingers (called a "fig") is (was?) considered an obscene gesture.

In conclusion, obscene gestures are what you make of them. To someone who knows little about American culture (or nonverbal communication), the middle finger may not be offense at all, because they don't know the true message behind it.

Bowser's "rude gesture" was taken out of the English release, as I'm sure you know, so I don't really see where you're going with that.

I've probably knocked Peach in the electric fence before, maybe 20+ times! I've got a golden award for hits; somewhere around 2,000 hits. Also, there is a cheat mode and cheats you get as you progress through the game, such as automatic super strike. This is when you normally make the meter glow blue by lining up the white thing w/ the green areas to get 2 points. This happens automatically when this cheat is active.

In case anyone was interested, the "middle finger gesture" originated from the 100 Years War between France and England.  Whenever the French captured English archers, they would chop off their middle fingers so they no longer could fire their bow and arrows.  So whenever the French and English met, the English archers would show their middle finger as a taunt and to show the French that they still had them.  After that though, the meaning has turned for the worst...

On SM Strikers, it was way too shallow.  Not enough unlockables, and the cheats aren't even that great.

So Next Level was going to make a volleyball game that was as gritty and violent as Strikers, but Nintendo didn't like it. Supposedly it was because Waluigi kicking Mario in the stomach while he was on the ground was too dishonorable, but I think we all know the real reason was the Mario sideboob.
