"The secret is a timed implosion in my gut! Though, that's explain why my face has been replaced with a black hole..."

Also, if you'll look at the bottom of this post, you can see an ad for an IQ quiz. However, clicking on the ad already puts your intelligence into question.

Best: Super Mario Galaxy. The music made this brawl with Bowser the most -dare I say it...- epic Bowser fight ever.

Worst: Super Mario Sunshine, 'cuz it's what all the cool kids are choosing.

This thread needs 50 CCs of new post, stat!

'Twas mah birthday today, fifthteen years young, and I got everything I wanted; de Blob, Wario Land: Shake it!, Okami and a few Wii points cards! I also got a new piece of exercise equipment and 72 dollars (consisting of a fifty dollar bill, a twenty dollar bill, and a scratch & win lottery ticket awarding me with two bucks). Most of my family was there and we pigged out on pizza and cake. Now, there's only one thing left to ask:

What did you guys get me?

It's raises the question. And look a Back to the Future, Marty and his siblings started disappearing once his parents got split up. Until he fixes things, history starts to rewrite itself. Nothing in MK present shows any effects of the Shroob invasion that has yet to be stopped by the brothers. While BttF isn't anymore credible than Futurama (Which I know they have real scientists they consult) time-travel and its effects are largely up for grabs.

That's because history was not being rewritten in Mario and Luigi, it was just following it's course; a course that would have inevitably lead to the present. As I see it, as long as the past doesn't change, the present should remain the same. The present would only have changed if the shroobs won.

No and YIDS.

Like, for example, the MK future is unaffected by the shroob invasion when it affected MK past. So that either means that somewhere down the line, the brothers' efforts were for nothing because the threat would be eliminated somewhere down the line regardless if the princesses were stopped, or the writers didn't care. I'm betting the latter, as it helps support my claim.

Actually, it's a Ontological Paradox; when something in the present exists because of someones influence on the past. Mario and Luigi were supposed to travel back in time, because that's how the present came about; it's their role in history. This can be illustrated in the Futurama episode "Roswell that ends well", the Roswell incident is revealed to have been caused by the crew after they accidentally travelled back in time and crashed landing into past Earth. Roswell would have never happened if the crew didn't travel back in time. Likewise, the present would have been peaceful if Mario and Luigi didn't travel back in time to stop the Shroobs.

Though it begs the question: history shows that Mario and Luigi were always responsible for stopping the Shroobs, but then why didn't anyone mention it to Mario and Luigi? "Mario, green-guy, just want to remind you you'll have to travel back in time to stop some evil aliens, m'kay? In fact, why didn't Mario and Luigi remember it? They were smart enough to walk, after all. (Or maybe they did. I don't know remember, it's been a long time since I played that game).

Video Game Chat / Re: Does the Metroid series have a future?
« on: October 05, 2008, 08:54:47 PM »
Metroid has managed to find a way back in to the average gamer's eye, and Nintendo isn't really the type to pass up another franchise game, so the Metroid series probably does have a future.

Plus, if I remember correctly, didn't Metroid Fusion drop a few hints that the Galactic Federation is secretly producing Metroids? Sounds like they have more sinister plots in mind...

But- but- used copies of the GameCube originals are much cheaper! Plus, the Wii can already play GameCube games! What's the point? The virtual console is useful since those games have long been out of print, can usually only be found online (not everyone shops online) and even then, you got a low chance of the cartridges actually working properly. This is just insane! The only way I'll buy these games is if they're Ten dollars or lower, the usual price of used games.

I'm confused. You just denounced most of his hardcore-declarations (Spore notwithstanding) and then you say that the drought is still there and even acknowledge that there have been good games coming out at least as far back as "months ago". And FFIV is the game to get excited about rather than "other RPGs" if you ask me.

Well, I suppose it's a matter of opinion based on what you like. From a non-biased standpoint, the DS has probably been getting good titles for a while now. But based on my opinion, there's not much to get excited about. I'm generally not interested in games like Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest, N was just too hard, and Space invaders doesn't really hold my interest. I'm sorry. But hey, can't please 'em all, right?

SPAC3 INVADERS EXTR3ME

Not interested.

FFTA2, FFIV, DQIV

Not quite into those super-hardcore type of RPGs and they don't seem to do anything different from other RPGs/strategy games..

N+

Too hard, plus isn't it just an upgrade of a free flash game?

Spore Creatures

Uh...

Kirby Super Star Ultra, The World Ends With You

They look good, but two games can hardly solve a drought (plus, didn't the latter come out months ago?).

Thank you for the suggestions, though.

This camera idea kinda remind me the Gizmondo. Unlike the Gizmondo, however, you don't need to be filthy stinking rich to buy one. That being said, this new DS has lots of potential. I thought of a cool laser-tag game for the Gizmondo using the camera, and the would work perfectly with this new DS (if the camera can show video in real time).

But I'm a bit a worried about buying this new device. I haven't played my DS in almost a year, due to the drought of hardcore games. It'll only be a matter of time until Spongebob and minigame collections come to dominate this new system.
