General Chat / Re: Jack Thompson Disbarred
« on: September 26, 2008, 08:37:30 PM »
Dude's been disbarred before in Alabama.
But now he's been disbarred in his home state, meaning he'd have to move to another state just to practice law. Jack would most likely be unable to do this, so he's good as disbarred.

Don't celebrate just yet; the ruling isn't effective for thirty days, and he has the option of turning into a werewolve at midnight and holding the leaders of the bar hostage. Nah, seriously, his career's toast (despite what Jack says).

Just to be clear, I don't dislike Jack for his opinions. I don't agree with them, but I believe people can think whatever they want. I just dislike how he chooses to fight his battles. He chooses to insult and demonize his enemies, instead of focusing on proving his opinion right with proof and explanations. Just look at his wikiqoutes page. He looks at everyone that doesn't subscribe to his view as the utmost evil. Even if he wasn't being serious with all his insults, he still hasn't shown any signs of competence as a lawyer. Jack could have solved his bar troubles with a simple apology, but instead, he pressed on with his hurtful words, self pity (remember when he said he all his bar trials were linked to prejudice against his Christian beliefs... in a Christian majority country?) and lack of evidence.

Leland Yee is the opposite of Jack in terms of personality: calm, humble, and nice. He keeps the video game debate clean, whether Jack turns it into a circus.

Video Game Chat / Re: The Kirby Game You Never Knew

They also did Lemmings.

And how, pray tell, is rolling potentially more interesting than walking?

If you've played games like Kirby Canvas Curse or Tilt 'n' Tumble, you'd see that controlling Kirby a little more indirectly requires strategy to properly maneuver him, as you have to cope with the sensitive rolling physics.

Isn't Kirby already a kid? Pl-

Wait, DMA design? Weren't they the guys (and girls) who made Grand Theft Auto? That would have been an interesting Kirby game. Just hope that Kirby wouldn't eat his gun; he'd get lead poisoning. Seriously, this game would have been interesting to see. Kirby seems to be rolling around in those sprites, which could have constituted to an interesting style of gameplay.

That was creative, but it lagged quiet terribly, probably becuase of my computer. Don't worry, I think I can see my CPU landing right now.

Video Game Chat / Re: Things That Made You Poop A Little.

Turning on Metroid Prime 3 for the first time. The creepy chanting was amazing!

Actually playing MP3 was also a poop-worthy moment. I didn't have a clue what space opera was until I got corrupted, so to speak.

Zelda Twilight Princess was another defining gaming moment in my life that unwillingly made me expell various wastes from my bowels. It was one of my first "hardcore" games I had ever played.

That's pretty much it.

Not at the Dinner Table / Re: Liberal or Conservative?

I think I lean just a bit more to the libertarian side, but Centrist is good, too.

Mario Chat / Re: Yoshi's body shape?
« on: September 20, 2008, 11:55:04 PM »
Yoshi's body shape is good both ways and for different situations. The raptor design is good for when Mario needs to ride yoshi, and the humanoid design is good for when Yoshi is solo.

Mario Chat / Re: BEST AND WORST IN SERIES? Week 22: Coins!
« on: September 16, 2008, 09:02:18 PM »
Best: Super Mario Galaxy. While they didn't have much of a purpose other then to heal you, Mario only had three pieces of health, so they were incredably valuable.

Worst: Super Mario 64. The coins were way too small. Plus, it's because of that 100 coin mission on Hazy Maze Cave that I never got all 150 stars on SM64DS. Overall, I disliked them.

General Chat / Re: TV this fall
« on: September 13, 2008, 10:47:36 PM »
I actually do watch some TV, since I'm one of the few posh jerks in the world to have a TV in their room. Most of it's from the Discovery Channel. Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, Daily Planet and Canada's Worst Driver/Handyman; it's all good. I also enjoy syndicated episodes of The Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy and Robot Chicken.

Well, it was mostly talking, so I was quite bored throughout the video. I prefer the more rapid-fire style of robot chicken. Also, what does this have to do with burger king? The only connection I can make is Mario's weight...

General Chat / Re: How was your first day of school?
« on: September 06, 2008, 10:25:28 PM »
I just started college at Texas Christian University. It's really cool and I've made a ton of new friends.

I first read that as "Texas Chainsaw University". Scary.

Anyway, I just finished my first week of School. It was average. Judging by my subjects and teachers, the homework load won't be so bad, which is what I care about most. There really wasn't any special though. The next semester will be torture though.

To me, it vaguely looks like a Toad with sunglasses screaming. I guess it's right for him to scream, since he is missing his body.

Video Game Chat / Re: Helix: The Best Wii Game
« on: August 26, 2008, 10:54:03 PM »
I watched a video about the game. It looks pretty good. However, with what little space I have left on my Wii (57 blocks, I think) would it really be worth deleting such games like F-Zero X or Star Fox 64? Afterall, with only 26 songs, it looks pretty short. Does it make up for it's length in sheer addictiveness? If it is worth the Wii Points, I'll defiantly buy it (once I get some Wii points, that is).

Hey David!

I hope you're doing great!

You know Charles Martinet?

Mario Chat / Re: Why is wall jumping/kicking so satisfying?
« on: August 18, 2008, 10:57:09 PM »
I wish I could jump and wall-kick like Mario does in real life.

You can kinda kick off of walls, but alas, we're all gravity's fool, so you can't gain much height from this procedure like Mario.
