That will always be one of the weirdest, yet most awesome, songs ever.

Hanging out behind the club on the weekend
Acting stupid, getting drunk with my best friends
I couldn't wait for the summer and the Warped Tour
I remember it's the first time that I saw her there

She's getting kicked out of school cause she's failing
I'm kinda nervous, 'cause I think all her friends hate me
She's the one, she'll always be there
She took my hand, and I admit it I swear

Because I fell in love with the girl at the rock show
She said "What?" and I told her that I didn't know
She's so cool, gonna sneak in through her window
Everything's better when she's around
I can't wait till her parents go out of town
I fell in love with the girl at the rock show

When we said we were gonna move to Vegas
I remember the look her mother gave us
Seventeen, without a purpose or direction
We don't owe anyone a ****ing explanation

I fell in love with the girl at the rock show
She said "What?" and I told her that I didn't know
She's so cool, gonna sneak in through her window
Everything's better when she's around
I can't wait till her parents go out of town
I fell in love with the girl at the rock show

Black and white picture of her on my wall
I waited for her call, she always kept me waiting
And if I ever got another chance, I'd still ask her to dance
Because she kept me waiting

I fell in love with the girl at the rock show
She said "What?" and I told her that I didn't know
She's so cool, gonna sneak in through her window
Everything's better when she's around
I can't wait till her parents go out of town
I fell in love with the girl at the rock show
With the girl at the rock show
With the girl at the rock show
(I'll never forget tonight)
With the girl at the rock show...

Interestingly enough, the word "drunk" is censored in Guitar Hero 5. I guess they didn't want to promote underage drinking...?

It was probably to avoid the ESRB's ridiculous "alcohol reference" tag.

Early one mornin' the sun was shinin',
I was layin' in bed
Wond'rin' if she'd changed at all
If her hair was still red.
Her folks they said our lives together
Sure was gonna be rough
They never did like Mama's homemade dress
Papa's bankbook wasn't big enough.
And I was standin' on the side of the road
Rain fallin' on my shoes
Heading out for the East Coast
Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through,
Tangled up in blue.

She was married when we first met
Soon to be divorced
I helped her out of a jam, I guess,
But I used a little too much force.
We drove that car as far as we could
Abandoned it out West
Split up on a dark sad night
Both agreeing it was best.
She turned around to look at me
As I was walkin' away
I heard her say over my shoulder,
"We'll meet again someday on the avenue,"
Tangled up in blue.

I had a job in the great north woods
Working as a cook for a spell
But I never did like it all that much
And one day the ax just fell.
So I drifted down to New Orleans
Where I happened to be employed
Workin' for a while on a fishin' boat
Right outside of Delacroix.
But all the while I was alone
The past was close behind,
I seen a lot of women
But she never escaped my mind, and I just grew
Tangled up in blue.

She was workin' in a topless place
And I stopped in for a beer,
I just kept lookin' at the side of her face
In the spotlight so clear.
And later on as the crowd thinned out
I's just about to do the same,
She was standing there in back of my chair
Said to me, "Don't I know your name?"
I muttered somethin' underneath my breath,
She studied the lines on my face.
I must admit I felt a little uneasy
When she bent down to tie the laces of my shoe,
Tangled up in blue.

She lit a burner on the stove and offered me a pipe
"I thought you'd never say hello," she said
"You look like the silent type."
Then she opened up a book of poems
And handed it to me
Written by an Italian poet
From the thirteenth century.
And every one of them words rang true
And glowed like burnin' coal
Pourin' off of every page
Like it was written in my soul from me to you,
Tangled up in blue.

I lived with them on Montague Street
In a basement down the stairs,
There was music in the cafes at night
And revolution in the air.
Then he started into dealing with slaves
And something inside of him died.
She had to sell everything she owned
And froze up inside.
And when finally the bottom fell out
I became withdrawn,
The only thing I knew how to do
Was to keep on keepin' on like a bird that flew,
Tangled up in blue.

So now I'm goin' back again,
I got to get to her somehow.
All the people we used to know
They're an illusion to me now.
Some are mathematicians
Some are carpenter's wives.
Don't know how it all got started,
I don't know what they're doin' with their lives.
But me, I'm still on the road
Headin' for another joint
We always did feel the same,
We just saw it from a different point of view,
Tangled up in blue.

Curtain opens, spotlights the gentleman
Signing his love letter best wishes Simpleton
Dialog swam from his pen like pollywogs

He knew better that perfume was gravity
Pulling him closer to what could be tragedy
Love is blind, deaf and dumb, but never mind

You better catch me when I fall
I'm on my roller skates
Cause any ol' way that I fall
I land in your arms even though it's wrong
Cause I love my new mistake

Intermission gave way to a miracle
The birth of an accident grew to a spectacle
That couldn't wait the mother was three weeks late

So Father Mason, clutching his crucifix
Baptized the baby in whiskey and licorice
What a lovely way, drowning sins in tooth decay

Looks like our hero's gonna fall
The bow's about to break
Cause any ol' that I fall
I'll be in your arms as we lie awake
With our lovely new mistake

You better catch me when I fall
My sugar trampoline
Cause any ol' way that I fall
I land in your arms even though it's wrong
Cause I love my new mistake

The ending turned tragic when many years later
The baby had grown up and married a pop singer
I think it was her turn to make her first mistake

Any ol' time at all
Any ol' way that I fall
I just lie awake with my new mistake...

In my prison cell I think these words
I was careless
I can see that now
I must be silent
Must contain my secret smile
I want to tell you
You my mirror
You my iron bars

When I made a shadow on my window shade
They called the police and testified
But they're like the people chained up in the cave
In the allegory of the people in the cave by the Greek guy

No one understands
No one knows my plan
Why the dancing, shouting
Why the shrieks of pain
The lovely music
Why the smell of burning autumn leaves

No one understands
No one knows my plan
Why the dancing, shouting
Why the shrieks of pain
The lovely music
Why the smell of burning autumn leaves

In my prison cell I bide my time
Always thinking
Always busy cooking up an angle
Working on the tiny blueprint of the angle
Sketching out the burning autumn leaves

No one understands
No one knows my plan
I must be silent, must contain my secret smile
I want to tell you
You my mirror
You my iron bars

No one understands
No one knows my plan
Know the most important contribution of the organ Fund science girls type. It's true!

Listen, baby
Ain't no mountain high
Ain't no vally low
Ain't no river wide enough, baby

If you need me, call me
No matter where you are
No matter how far
Just call my name
I'll be there in a hurry
You don't have to worry

'Cause baby,
There ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you, babe

Remember the day
I set you free
I told you
You could always count on me
From that day on I made a vow
I'll be there when you want me
Some way,some how

'Cause baby,
There ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you

No wind, no rain

My love is alive
Way down in my heart
Although we are miles apart
If you ever need a helping hand
I'll be there on the double
As fast as I can

Don't you know that
There ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you

Don't you know that
There ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough...

Are the "bleeps" part of the song?

I've exposed your lies, baby
The underneath is no big surprise
Now it's time for changing
And cleansing everything
To forget your love

My plug in baby
Crucifies my enemies
When I'm tired of giving
My plug in baby
In unbroken virgin realities
Is tired of living

Don't confuse
Baby you're gonna lose
Your own game
Change me
Replace the envying
To forget your love

My plug in baby
Crucifies my enemies
When I'm tired of giving
My plug in baby
In unbroken virgin realities
I'm tired of living

And I've seen your loving
But mine is gone
And I've been in trouble

Anyone else who's heard this song think the main guitar tune sounds like Dragon Quest music?

I've been really tryin', baby
Tryin' to hold back this feelin' for so long
And if you feel like I feel, baby
Then come on, oh, come on
Whoo, let's get it on
Ah, babe, let's get it on
Let's love, baby
Let's get it on, sugar
Let's get it on
Whoo-ooh-ooh

We're all sensitive people
With so much to give
Understand me, sugar
Since we got to be
Let's live
I love you

There's nothin' wrong
With me lovin' you
Baby, no, no
And givin' yourself to me can never be wrong
If the love is true
Oh, babe, ooh, ooh

Don't you know
How sweet and wonderful life can be?
Whoo-ooh
I'm askin' you, baby
To get it on with me
Ooh, ooh, ooh

I ain't gonna worry, I ain't gonna push
Won't push you, baby
So come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, baby
Stop beatin' 'round the bush, hey

Let's get it on, ooh, ooh
Let's get it on
You know what I'm talkin' 'bout
Come on, baby, hey, hey
Let your love come out
If you believe in love
Let's get it on, ooh, ooh
Let's get it on, baby
This minute, oh yeah
Let's get it on
Please, please, get it on
Hey, hey

I know you know
What I've been dreamin' of
Don't you, baby?
My whole body is in love
Whoo

I ain't gonna worry, no, I ain't gonna push
I won't push you, baby, whoo
Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, darlin'
Stop beatin' 'round the bush, hey

Gonna get it on
Beggin' you, baby, I want to get it on
You don't have to worry that it's wrong
If the spirit moves you, let me groove you
Let your love come down
Oh, get it on, come on, baby

Do you know I mean it?
I've been sanctified
Hey, hey
Girl, you give me good feelings, so good

Nothin' wrong with love
If you want to love me
Just let yourself go
Oh, baby
Let's get it on

"If the spirit moves you, let me groove you" must be one of the most ridiculously awesome lines ever penned.

From the number-one game show
The number-one game show host
And I'm talking like coast to coast
So good morning, good evening, good afternoon
And Mario saga is back with a boom
So on your mark, get ready, and get set
And say "Hi" to new and old threats
'Cause all he gotta do is rescue the girl
So welcome to Super Mario World

Yeah yeah
Yeah yeah
Yeah yeah

Welcome to Super Mario World

Welcome to Super Mario World

Enter the Dragon Land at level 97
It's like gateway to Heaven
Chocolate cookies, donut, vanilla
And I think we're set for a thrilla
Grab Yoshi, Luigi, your magic cape and break!
And make for the tape
'Cause all you gotta do is rescue the girl
So welcome to Super Mario World

Yeah yeah
Yeah yeah

Welcome to Super Mario World

Welcome to Super Mario World

We'll cancel the scandal
'Cause this time around the action's quicker
Slicker, and much, much thicker

Charging Chucks, and others
Well all you gotta do is rescue the girl
So welcome to Super Mario World

To fly high, high, high, like inflation
What a way to spend a vacation
All you gotta do is rescue the girl
So welcome to Super Mario World

Shroomy, what is that song?

Her love rains down on me easy as the breeze
I listen to her breathing it sounds like the waves on the sea
I was thinking all about her, burning with rage and desire
We were spinning into darkness; the earth was on fire

She could take it back, she might take it back someday

So I spy on her, I lie to her, I make promises I cannot keep
Then I hear her laughter rising, rising from the deep
And I make her prove her love for me, I take all that I can take
And I push her to the limit to see if she will break

She might take it back, she could take it back some day

Now I have seen the warnings, screaming from all sides
It's easy to ignore them and God knows I've tried
All this temptation, it turned my faith to lies
Until I couldn't see the danger or hear the rising tide

She can take it back, she will take it back some day
She can take it back, she will take it back some day
She can take it back, she will take it back some day

Turns out, due to my dad mislabeling some stuff on his old computer (or on the CD he burned it from, or from whoever named the songs on the burn of the previous CD, or someone), what I thought was "Interstellar Overdrive" from The Piper at the Gates of Dawn is actually "Take it Back", from... "The Division Bell". How many other songs on that album are now apparently incorrectly named on my iPod, I can't say.

I wonder if Pink Floyd would consider it a compliment that their songs are so artsy that you can't even discern the titles half of the time. On that note,

Once upon a time you dressed so fine
You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you?
People'd call, say, "Beware doll, you're bound to fall"
You thought they were all kiddin' you
You used to laugh about
Everybody that was hangin' out
Now you don't talk so loud
Now you don't seem so proud
About having to be scrounging for your next meal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be without a home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

You've gone to the finest school all right, Miss Lonely
But you know you only used to get juiced in it
And nobody has ever taught you how to live on the street
And now you find out you're gonna have to get used to it
You said you'd never compromise
With the mystery tramp, but now you realize
He's not selling any alibis
As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes
And ask him do you want to make a deal?

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

You never turned around to see the frowns on the jugglers and the clowns
When they all come down and did tricks for you
You never understood that it ain't no good
You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you
You used to ride on the chrome horse with your diplomat
Who carried on his shoulder a Siamese cat
Ain't it hard when you discover that
He really wasn't where it's at
After he took from you everything he could steal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

Princess on the steeple and all the pretty people
They're drinkin', thinkin' that they got it made
Exchanging all kinds of precious gifts and things
But you'd better lift your diamond ring, you'd better pawn it babe
You used to be so amused
At Napoleon in rags and the language that he used
Go to him now, he calls you, you can't refuse
When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose
You're invisible now, you got no secrets to conceal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

Well, as it turns out, due to what was allegedly a massive error on the part of the auto-name-finder on iTunes or something, the entire thing is/was actually The Dividing Bell--what I, at first, assumed to be the first Pink Floyd album was really the last (at first, I had presumed either, considering the album's unique sound). So, technically, I accidentally got a free new Pink Floyd album. But now I actually want to hear the real Piper at the Gates of Dawn...

The city streets are empty now
(The lights don't shine no more)
And so the songs are way down low
Turning
Turning
Turning
A sound that flows into my mind
(The echos of the daylight)
Of everything that is alive
In my blue world

I turn to stone
When you are gone
I turn to stone
Turn to stone when you comin' home
I can't go on
The dying embers of the night
(A fire that slowly fades to dawn)
Still glow upon the wall so bright
Burning
Burning
Burning
The tired streets that hide away
(From here to everywhere they go)
Roll past my door into the day
In my blue world.

I turn to stone
. . .

Turn to stone
When you're gone
I turn to stone.

Yes
I'm turning to stone
'Cause you ain't comin' home
Why ain't you comin' home
If I'm turning to stone
You've been gone for so long
And I can't carry on
Yes I'm turning
I'm turning

I'm turning to stone
The dancing shadows on the wall
(The two step in the hall)
Are all I see since you've been gone
Turning
Turning
Turning
Through all I sit here and I wait
(l turn to stone I turn to stone)
You will return again some day
To my blue world

I turn to stone
. . .

Turn to stone when you are gone
I turn to stone I turn to stone
When you are gone I turn to stone
Turn to stone when you comin' home
I can't go on turn to stone
When you are gone I turn to stone

Meat Loaf had more than one album?

Sorry; old music humour. As for Pink Floyd, Youtube is your friend. Take advantage of it as you would one.

EDIT: Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup,
They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my open mind,
Possessing and caressing me.
Jai guru de va om
Nothing's gonna change my world,
Nothing's gonna change my world.

Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes,
That call me on and on across the universe,
Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box they
Tumble blindly as they make their way
Across the universe
Jai guru de va om
Nothing's gonna change my world,
Nothing's gonna change my world.

Sounds of laughter shades of earth are ringing
Through my open views inviting and inciting me
Limitless undying love which shines around me like a
Million suns, it calls me on and on
Across the universe
Jai guru de va om
Nothing's gonna change my world,
Nothing's gonna change my world.

The Meat Loaf album is Welcome to the Neighborhood, to be exact. It's okay, I guess; definitely no Bat Out of Hell (I, II, or III), but the Steinman-deficiency may have something to do with that. That, and two very random interludes: "45 Seconds of Ecstasy", which could just as easy be titled "Ode to the Orgasm", and some short Mariachi-band-sounding instrumental. Neither is sung by Meat Loaf or written by Jim Steinman, so it begs the question: What the eff is it doing on the album?

In the car I just can't wait,
to pick you up on our very first date
Is it cool if I hold your hand?
Is it wrong if I think it's lame to dance?
Do you like my stupid hair?
Would you guess that I didn't know what to wear?
I'm too scared of what you think
You make me nervous so I really can't eat

Let's go, don't wait, this night's almost over
Honest, let's make this night last forever
Forever and ever, let's make this last forever
Forever and ever, let's make this last forever

When you smile, I melt inside
I'm not worthy for a minute of your time
I really wish it was only me and you
I'm jealous of everybody in the room
Please don't look at me with those eyes
Please don't hint that you're capable of lies
I dread the thought of our very first kiss
A target that I'm probably gonna miss

Let's go, don't wait, this night's almost over
Honest, let's make this night last forever
Forever and ever, let's make this last forever
Forever and ever, let's make this last forever

Let's go, don't wait, this night's almost over
Honest, let's make, this night last forever
Forever and ever, let's make this last forever
Forever and ever, let's make this last forever
Forever and ever, let's make this last forever
Forever and ever, let's make this last forever

I'm only really posting this because, as I was playing it on GH: Van Halen, I recognized the chorus as a bit I had heard once as a kid and never tied to an actual song.
