Game Help / Re: Super Mario All-Stars: SMB2 Roulette question

Are you referring to this?

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmQxtfz_FlE" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmQxtfz_FlE</a>

It is listed as belonging to SMB2, but, as far as I know, you only hear it in SMB3 when you play the Mario Bros. battle game in multiplayer.

Still lurking here from time to time and since the first MS Paint thread was so fun... Here goes.

How that ?
Even if we assume bombs generally are fatally dangerous in Mario's world, I'm sure there can exist more than one type of bomb. I don't think we're supposed to read much into that.
(I'll still go with the "explosives doesn't necessarily have to be fatal in such a cartoonish universe" theory though).

The time holes were closed.
The babies brought the time machine with them.

Mario Chat / Re: Could Mario talk more without it being annoying?

I hope you're not referring to that Mario is Missing clip. The inane writing is just the icing of the cake.

Anyway, to cleanse ourselves from that blasphemy, here's some good examples of Mario speaking in full sentences. I'm all for a more talkative Mario if he has such quotable one-liners as these.

I'll have to admit that hearing Mario yell Sonic's name is a little bizarre though...

The sequel was better. Maybe I'm biased because I played that one first, but I just couldn't get into Jazz 1. The controls felt loose and slippery and I kept running into enemies (which, if I remember correctly, had to do with the view being zoomed in too close as opposed to Jazz 2). Also, Spaz is awesome, although a little over-powered.

Well, a new video. Minor spoilers.

Video

Thanks for pointing out my stupidity, ShadowBrain XD I should've looked at the link before I posted that.

I was meant to comment on these while they were still just Boss & Employee. Great comics nevertheless, I like how you try to use some line-wight even though you're just doing it in MS paint. They're pretty funny also. Some of the expressions are just hilarious.

Garfield minus Garfield should have a field day with these two last strips.

Yes, I guess a 100% SMB3 session would have three Warp Whistles but that doesn't change my core point: WeeGee's definition of "what the game keeps track of" is flawed because once you leave a World, there's no telling how many levels of it you completed, ever.

But getting the Warp Whistle in the first fortress forces you to skip collecting the "?"-orb that unlocks the door on the map screen. So... It's impossible to 100% SMB3! Dun, dun, dun!

But seriously, beating every single level should be enough.

General Chat / Re: General Animation Topic

Does anyone have a animated thing they liked because of the animation?

Ren & Stimpy. They really got the hang of it (animation-wise) during it's second season. The lip-sync was amazing at times. Pretty much the best animated show made for television in my opinion. What I find interesting about most TV cartoons is that you can see which episodes were produced earliest in the production schedule (and which episodes that had the biggest budgets) while on Ren & Stimpy episodes just got better and better as the show went on (until it's dreaded 3rd season when the creator was given the boot). It saddens me a bit that Ren & Stimpy has only gotten passing mentions in this thread.

I also love theatrical cartoons, like the ones from Disney and WarnerBros. Some Anime too. I think Excel Saga was mentioned. Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi is also pretty good with some fantastic animation in certain episodes.

As a tyke I also grew up on the "toy-commercial" cartoons like TMNT and Transformers, but none of those holds up very well today.

It seems you didn't read the entire article, Turtlekid. I quote:

"And I'm certainly not telling you not to play RPGs - I play them occasionally myself now, confident that now I'm enjoying them for the characters and story and not as a source of fake achievement. What I am saying is that you should pay attention to what's going on in your head when you play these games."

It's not about being told "Wow, you're smart" for me, it's about enjoying a story and characters.

There's no reason you should be offended. Also, the name of the thread should probably be taken with a grain of salt.

What's wrong with making it as a downloadable link? Anyway, on the top of my head I think Myspace can upload music to a player.

Are you saying they should have made Mario and Peach equally tall?
