Well, we all know Sonic was a phenomenon when he made his splash on the Genesis, and his games, with some downhill slopes, got better and better, but really, who every thought the blue hedgehog would finally choke? Do you think his games will get back on track, or do you think the speedy and overused hedgehog will finally take his last trip down the roads of gaming. I'm a believer, but I wonder what you guys think.

Wow, people call him the "Blue Blur"?  Pssh.  Mega Man got the way better end of the blue-video-game-nicknames stick.

The Rush series is looking quite decent (speaking of which, I need to get Rush Adventure some time), and the Rivals series, while not as commercially successful, is apparently quite fun to play. Sonic Chronicles sounds really interesting too (it's an in-development RPG by Bioware). I think the Sonic series has lost a lot of its luster compared to the Genesis days, but I wouldn't say it's dead just yet.
If my son could decimate Lego cities with his genitals, I'd be [darn] proud.

I think the series, like Sonic himself, will just keep on going no matter what's in its way... until a broken camera and bad voice-acting sends it falling off of a cliff.

I never thought he choked. =/

Look at Mario and Sonic at the Olympics. That game seems to be doing fine...

Some people are into Mario & Sonic due to the fact that Mario is in it. At least, that's what seems most likely.

Get rid of all the characters except Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Robotnik, and it'll be getting somewhere.

Speaking of Robotnik, he should be Robotnik again; I'd be much more frightened of a fight against the maniacal DOCTOR IVO ROBOTNIK than some twit called Eggman. I can see Eggman being a nickname for him courtesy of Sonic & Co., but how can the Doctor expect to be feared with a name like that? It sounds like a really bad name for a superhero.

Honestly I think that the Sonic games would be better off without the music (with the people singing and crap) without the new characters (Shawdow, Rough, etc) AND him not being in the human world. Video game characters (like Animal type characters) in the real world don't mix so well.
Time is repeating itself. Why you say? Look at the Wii and NES and you'll know why.

I don't mind them introducing new characters, but I'd like it if they'd stop cramming too many characters into one game (*cough*Sonic Heroes*cough*). 12 playable characters in four "teams" is pushing it.
We went to see them for the first time in 5 years because they were going away for 3 years.

The problem with Sonic is that all of his newest games are trying to be more serious than they really should be.

His older games are still fun, and Sonics 2 and 3(&K) are like some of my favorite video games ever. Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 were both fun, but they marked the beginning of the downward spiral into throwaway characters and furry little critters riding motorcycles and swearing.

Speaking of Robotnik, he should be Robotnik again; I'd be much more frightened of a fight against the maniacal DOCTOR IVO ROBOTNIK than some twit called Eggman. That's his name in Japanese. I honestly don't know why the changed it back, though. "Eggman" only made sense when he was, you know, making "egg" stuff. Like the Death Egg in Sonic 2, or the Egg Carrier in Sonic Adventure. It's funny that once they officially renamed him, in Sonic Adventure 2, he was too busy getting his screen time jacked by Shadow to make any new "egg" stuff.

I found a pretty neat article about the poor hedgehog on DA. It's a few years old, but it's still pretty dead-on.

Arr, Sonic was like the captain of sinking ship, his face reflects the feelings of a man who is brave but sad that his vessel (Sega) be sinking to the bottom of the sea. May his soul rest in peace in the depths of Davey Jones' locker.

Harharhar, I love it when I tells a good joke. Sonic be the greatest captain next to Mario and nothing will ever change that, not even his new age games that stink worse than the poop deck!

Mega Man's official nickname is the Blue Bomber.

And Thorn sort of covered this, but yeah, Eggman is his actual name. I'm all for Actual Names instead of this random American stuff.
That was a joke.
